Shrimp salad with arugula and balsamic. Arugula salad with shrimp

This was in the late 90s of the last century. While in Mexico, we decided to try the Caesar salad, the most famous even at that time. Of course, if you try Peking duck, then it is best to try it in Beijing, at the Peking Duck restaurant. Also Caesar salad, we went to try it at the Caesar restaurant, where, according to legend, the triumph of this salad began and was prepared in those days by the creator of this salad - Caesar Cardini, the owner of this restaurant.

How to prepare Caesar salad - step-by-step cooking recipes

Menu:

In our time, unfortunately, Caesar no longer existed, but when we ordered Caesar salad, to our surprise and joy, a cart arrived at the table with all the ingredients for the salad laid out on it, and the chef of the restaurant was driving this cart.

  1. Classic Caesar salad recipe - from the chef of the Caesar restaurant in Mexico

4-6 servings

Ingredients:

  • Romaine lettuce - 2 large heads
  • Garlic - 2 large cloves
  • Salt - 1/4 tsp.
  • Olive oil - 3/4 cup is best
  • White bread crackers - 2 cups
  • Lemon - 1 pc.
  • Eggs - 2 pcs.
  • Parmesan cheese, freshly grated - 1/4 cup
  • Pepper in a hand mill
  • Worcestershire sauce - 6-8 drops.

Caesar salad preparation

  1. Lettuce – You need 6-8 clean, undamaged lettuce leaves per person. Wash them, wrap them carefully in a towel and put them in the refrigerator for a while.
  2. Breadcrumbs - Grind the garlic in a small mortar or bowl. Add salt and puree until smooth. Pour in 3 tbsp little by little. oil, stir and strain the oil into a frying pan, heat it slightly and put the crackers in it. Stir for one minute. Place in a small salad bowl.
  3. Just before serving, squeeze the juice from the lemon into a glass.
  4. Place the eggs in boiling water for exactly 1 minute, remove and immediately cool with cold water. The top layer of white will stick somewhat, but the egg will be runny.
  5. Grate the cheese on a fine grater - 1/4 cup.

Lemon juice, eggs, cheese - place in separate containers.

  1. Place all prepared ingredients including olive oil, breadcrumbs, pepper mill, salt, Worcestershire sauce on a tray.
  2. Chill large dinner plates and place lettuce leaves in the largest salad bowl you have.

And then the boss’s magic began with detailed explanations

All his movements were slow and smooth.

  • The chef placed lettuce leaves in a very large wooden salad bowl.
  • Poured some olive oil
  • Turn the leaves in the salad bowl twice using a large spoon and fork.
  • Add salt and turn the pepper mill eight times
  • I poured about 2 more tablespoons. olive oil
  • Turned the leaves over again.
  • Sprinkled with lemon juice.
  • Added 6 drops of Worcestershire sauce
  • Broke eggs over salad
  • Turned the leaves twice again
  • Grate about 1/4 cup over the salad. parmesan cheese
  • Turned the leaves over again
  • I poured out the crackers
  • And mixed the salad twice again
  • Arrange the leaves in a circle on chilled plates, stems facing out.

Once again he emphasized that there was no need to rush. Movements should be smooth and slow so as not to damage the leaves. We stir the salad by grabbing the leaves from below with two utensils and, as it were, tossing them a little upward. You can eat the salad with your hands, but you may need a fork and knife to scoop up the breadcrumbs.

Of course, I think that the chef did all this for restaurant pathos, but this is exactly the order in which the salad is assembled. If you turn the leaves not twice, but three times, I think nothing bad will happen.

  1. Homemade Caesar salad with chicken and mushrooms

Ingredients:

  • Iceberg lettuce - half a large head
  • Chicken breast - 1 pc.
  • Champignons - 200 g.
For the sauce:
  • Mayonnaise - 4-5 tbsp.
  • Garlic - 1 medium clove
  • Anchovies - 2-3 pcs.
For refueling:
  • Grated cheese - 1/4 cup
  • Crackers - 1 cup
For decoration:
  • Eggs - 4 pcs.

Caesar salad preparation

1. Cut the mushrooms into small cubes.

2. Cut the chicken breasts lengthwise to make them thinner.

3. Salt and pepper the breast.

4. Heat a little vegetable oil in a frying pan and add the chicken breast to fry. There is no need to fry the breast too much, otherwise it will become dry and tasteless. Fry until lightly golden brown on each side. Test for readiness; if the knife goes in softly and the juice is light, then everything is fine. Or cut a piece.

5. Turn the breast over and fry on the other side, just like the first.

6. Place the second frying pan on the stove, pour a little oil and add mushrooms to fry until done.

Caesar salad preparing sauce

7. Meanwhile, make the sauce. Place anchovies in a blender glass, chop finely and add garlic there. At low speed, chop the garlic and anchovy. Add mayonnaise and grind this whole mass.

Do not beat with a blender for a long time, otherwise you will begin to separate the mayonnaise into oil and other ingredients. We need our whole mayonnaise. We obtain a homogeneous mass of sauce.

8. We cut the salad like we cut cabbage, and then collect the chopped feathers in a pile and cut them in half so that they are not very long.

9. Our mushrooms are ready, set aside.

10. Cut the chicken breast into strips, approximately the same length as the lettuce leaves.

It's time to collect the salad

11. Place the chopped salad on a cold plate, place pieces of chicken breast on top, add mushrooms to them and cover everything with lettuce leaves.

12. Put crackers into the salad.

13. Add our sauce to the center, expect 4 servings.

14. Decorate with eggs and serve.

Note: the photo shows a larger number of ingredients, as they cooked there for a large number of people. I specifically gave you the most common quantity for 4 servings. It's much more convenient and clearer.

  1. Caesar salad recipe with photos step by step

Ingredients:

  • Romaine lettuce - 1
  • Bun - 5-6 pieces
  • Olive oil
  • A piece of Parmesan cheese, which we will grate extra
  • Cherry tomatoes

Preparation:

1. We disassemble the romaine lettuce into leaves; of course, you can replace it with iceberg lettuce, but it’s not the same.

2. Wash the leaves, let them drain through a sieve, dry them thoroughly with napkins and put them in the refrigerator. The salad is assembled before serving. By this point, our leaves should be clean, dry and cool.

3. Slice the bread, maybe from yesterday’s bun. It will even be better if the bread is a little dry. If the crust is hard, it must be cut off; if it is soft, then it is not necessary. Piece sizes to suit your taste.

4. Crackers can be prepared in two ways: in the oven and in a frying pan. We chose the first method, as it turns out to be less caloric.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the sliced bread on the parchment. Sprinkle with olive oil and place in an oven preheated to 200°-210° for about 5-7 minutes, until the crackers are golden brown.

5. Crackers are ready. Set aside and let cool.

Prepare Caesar salad sauce.

We will need the following main ingredients:

  • Eggs - 2 small or 1 large
  • lemon - 1 pc.
  • Freshly grated hard Parmesan cheese - 20-30 g (about 2 tbsp)
  • Olive oil - 160 ml.

Additional:

  • Not spicy mustard - 1 tbsp.
  • Fish sauce - 1/2 tsp.
  • Red wine vinegar or other - 1 tbsp.
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tbsp.
  • Lemon juice - 1 tbsp.
  • Sugar - 1 tsp.
  • Salt and pepper to taste.
  • Hot Tabasco pepper - a few drops
  • Mixture of oregano and basil herbs - 1/2 tsp.

Additionally, you can add half a head of mild onion or scald the onion with boiling water and 1-2 cloves of garlic. Invest according to your taste. If you don't want the sharp taste of garlic, roast it a little.

If you have them from the refrigerator, place the eggs in warm water, but it is best to remove them from the refrigerator in advance, at least half an hour before cooking. They should be at room temperature.

1. After they have warmed up, lower them into boiling water for exactly 1 minute.

2. After a minute, take it out and immediately put it in cold water to stop the cooking process.

Beat the ingredients with a blender

3. Finely chop the onion and garlic and put it in a blender,

chop.

4. Add a tablespoon of mild mustard to the blender. If yours is spicy, add half a tablespoon, or even a teaspoon. Once mixed, you can taste it and add more if necessary.

5. Add half a teaspoon of fish sauce or 1 anchovy there. If you don't have this, skip this step, no problem.

6. A tablespoon of red wine vinegar.

7. A tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce. If you don't have it, buy it, you won't regret it. This sauce is good in almost any, especially vegetable salads. Always useful.

8. A tablespoon of lemon juice, a pinch of salt, a teaspoon of sugar. Add a few drops of hot pepper - Tabasco or chili, to taste.

9. A pinch of a mixture of oregano and basil herbs and a little ground black pepper. It's best straight from the mill so it's freshly ground. We break everything down to a homogeneous mass.

We continue to prepare the sauce.

10. Break the eggs into a blender with our mixture. Look at the yolk, it’s raw; around the yolk the white has set a little, and the white of the shell is quite dense. Scoop out the whites and also add them to the blender cup. Beat everything again into a homogeneous mass.

11. Place an immersion blender at the bottom of the bowl and pour olive oil into the bowl. We don’t lift the blender; it stands at the bottom of the bowl, and in short bursts we begin to blend the mixture. After some time, when the mixture begins to form, we carefully begin to lift and lower the blender. When there is no visible oil left in the bowl, you can use the blender freely. Just whisk the sauce.

12. Beat for about 3-5 minutes and the sauce is ready. In terms of thickness, it is approximately like light mayonnaise. At this point you can taste the sauce and add what you are missing, salt, sugar, mustard, etc.

13. Pour the sauce over the grated hard Parmesan cheese. Stir thoroughly and now our sauce is finally ready. There was quite a lot of sauce, enough for several servings. If you don’t use it all up, you can store it in the refrigerator, but no more than 3 days.

Assembling the salad

14. Assemble the salad, as we have already said, just before serving. We tear the salad with our hands into medium leaves.

16. Add crackers. Mix.

17. Grate the cheese. Mix again.

18. Place on a serving plate. Top with a little more sauce, some croutons and a little grated Parmesan.

Decorate with cherry tomatoes and sprinkle with a little cheese. Serve immediately.

Bon appetit!

The world-famous Caesar salad has been delighting residents of America and Europe for almost a century. This wonderful salad came to us not so long ago, but has already become a sincere favorite. In this article from MirSovetov we will talk about how to prepare Caesar - a salad that can compete even with the much-loved Olivier.
By the way, we all know the history of the creation of the aforementioned Olivier salad - unexpected and even emergency events contributed to the birth of a brilliant recipe. Likewise, the history of the creation of Caesar salad is based on a force majeure situation. Some believe that Caesar salad is somehow connected with the legendary Gaius Julius, but although the salad bears the name of its creator, it has nothing to do with the famous Roman emperor. But first things first...

From the history of salad

Oddly enough, we owe the appearance of Caesar salad to Hollywood filmmakers. On the Independence Day of the United States in 1924, they, overwhelmed by patriotic feelings, really wanted to raise a glass to the independence of their country, and they went to do this in the small Mexican town of Tijuana, because Prohibition was in effect in the States at that time. The choice of place for the movie-makers' party fell on the restaurant "Caesar's" (as Caesar Cardini, an American of Italian descent, simply named his establishment). On that historic day for world cuisine, the bar of the Cardini restaurant was full of a variety of drinks, but the supplies in the kitchen were simply extremely deplorable. The shops and stores nearby were already closed, so there was nowhere to expect replenishments of food, and then Caesar Cardini decided to mix everything he had, in the hope that he would get some kind of passable snack. In one bowl, pre-rubbed with garlic, he mixed toasted bread slices, soft-boiled eggs, Parmesan cheese, lettuce, herbs, and added olive oil and lemon juice. To Caesar’s boundless surprise, his salad was received with “Hurray!”
From that very day, the triumphant march of Caesar salad around the world began. At first, people went to Tijuana specifically to try the salad, and then the salad itself became widespread. Many variations on the “Caesar” theme were created, by the way, the very first of which belonged to the hand of Caesar’s brother Alex. He added some anchovies to the salad dressing, which gave the dish a subtle fishy flavor. Alex named his creation “Aviator Salad” - of course, in his name, since Alex was a pilot in the First World War.
Today there are a huge variety of Caesar salad recipes. To the main ingredients you can add chicken, ham, herring, tuna, cucumbers, bell peppers, nuts, olives... you can go on and on. Therefore, at this stage we will stop and turn to the recipe itself.

Ingredients for Caesar salad

So, today with MirSovetov we are preparing Caesar salad with chicken and cherry tomatoes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 head watercress or romaine lettuce
  • 2 chicken breasts,
  • 300 grams of white bread,
  • 4-5 cloves of garlic,
  • 2 yolks,
  • 2 tablespoons mustard,
  • 2 spoons of mayonnaise,
  • 50 ml dry white wine,
  • 150 ml,
  • 30 ml vegetable oil,
  • juice of one lemon,
  • 100 grams of Parmesan cheese,
  • 6-7 pieces of cherry tomatoes,
  • salt, black pepper to taste,
  • breadcrumbs.

Cooking chicken

MirSovetov draws your attention to the fact that chicken prepared according to the described method is nothing more than a perfect schnitzel. A hot piece of breast, decorated with a suitable set, will undoubtedly delight schnitzel connoisseurs! And for Caesar salad, the poultry pieces must be cooled at room temperature:

Making croutons

Croutons are commonly called croutons. The choice of bread type for croutons is entirely up to your taste. However, in any case, it must be emphasized that dried out, stale bread is not suitable for croutons, and even more so there is no need to use ready-made crackers for Caesar salad, which are multiplied in huge quantities by a wide variety of manufacturers, as a snack for beer.
This recipe uses fresh white “toast” bread for the croutons.

Next, add a clove of finely chopped garlic and black pepper to 50 ml of olive oil. The oil needs to sit for half an hour to take on the aroma of garlic:

In an oven preheated to 200 degrees, dry the bread for 3-5 minutes. It is very important that the bread does not turn into hard crackers, but only has a crispy crust and a soft core:

MirSovetov would like to draw your attention to the fact that if you dry the bread to the condition of croutons, then the resulting croutons are an ideal addition to pureed cereal soups, especially those with smoked meats.

Preparing the sauce and dressing the salad

We have reached the final stage of preparing the Caesar salad; this stage is also the most critical.
So, let's prepare the sauce. In a mixer, mix egg yolks, mustard, wine, lemon juice, and a clove of finely chopped garlic.
Next, without turning off the mixer, add 100 ml of olive oil in a thin stream and gradually add 50 grams of grated Parmesan cheese. The sauce is ready.
Rub the sides of the salad bowl with garlic and tear the lettuce leaves into it.
Various greens can be cut into a dish when served directly: greens cut with a knife give juice. For this reason, greens are also cut for those dishes in which the juiciness of the greens is important, for example, for okroshka. If it is expected that the dish will “stand” for some time, then it is better to tear the greens with your hands, this way they retain freshness longer.
Add half the breadcrumbs, half the remaining Parmesan and half the fried chicken, cut into strips. Pour in half the sauce and mix carefully. Wooden spatulas are best suited for this:

Now put the salad on a serving plate, place the remaining chicken and breadcrumbs on top in random order, pour in the rest of the dressing and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. The final touch is to decorate the salad with cherry tomato halves:

This recipe does not claim to be a classic and leaves room for the realization of your limitless culinary fantasies. Experiment with both ingredients and

Appearing at the behest of the imagination of the restaurateur Caesar Cardini, named after him, a simple dish made from improvised products (eggs, lettuce leaves, seasoned with lemon juice, olive oil with garlic, Parmesan, croutons, sauce) was liked by all the eaters who tried it. Caesar salad was first made in a small restaurant on the border between America and Mexico in the early 19th century.

The success of the dish is the merit of its signature sauce; the composition of the classic Caesar salad is quite simple: lettuce, toasted bread, Parmesan cheese.

Thanks to its lightness and balanced taste, Caesar has gained worldwide popularity. European, American, and now Russian chefs are offering new interpretations of the famous taste, including anchovies, nuts, ham, herring or pike perch fillets, cucumbers, shrimp and other ingredients in the snack. Our favorite is Caesar salad with chicken.

Place the loaf pieces into the heated frying pan, being careful not to brush away any crumbs that have formed. Stirring, fry them until a beautiful golden color.

Tear large lettuce leaves onto a plate. Brush a little (add drops) with sauce. Place chicken and bread crumbs on top. Decorate with sauce (drops/stripes/zigzag, etc.). Sprinkle with grated Parmesan and arrange the halved tomatoes.

The recipe for Caesar salad is varied, tasty, simple, and inexpensive. Prepare Caesar, loved without exaggeration by millions of people. You will surely like it, surprising you with the harmonious combination of flavors of leafy greens, tender chicken, homemade garlic croutons, spicy cheese and signature dressing-sauce.

The Caesar salad takes its name in honor of the name of its creator, the culinary specialist Caesar Cardini. One fine day he decided to cook his signature dish, but suddenly discovered that he did not have the necessary ingredients for this. But there was still something in stock, so, after thinking a little, he created a separate dish, which then came to us as the classic Caesar salad, which is now loved by both adults and children.

We buy ingredients for the salad

There are a huge number of varieties of Caesar. However, regardless of whether we prepare a classic Caesar salad with shrimp, chicken, feta cheese, avocado, turkey, ham, fish or any other main component, the remaining ingredients remain the same. Therefore, if you do not want, like Cardini, to suddenly discover that it is impossible to prepare the desired dish, you should go to the store in advance and purchase the necessary ingredients there.

You will need a regular white loaf, cherry tomatoes, parmesan cheese for sprinkling, leaves, and fresh chicken fillet to prepare a classic chicken Caesar salad or any other ingredient you crave in this dish. But to prepare the sauce - an integral part of the dish, you will have to purchase chicken eggs, mustard, garlic, lemon and olive oil. Well, every housewife probably already has salt and pepper, but if they run out, then, naturally, they will also have to be purchased.

General salad recipe

After purchasing all the ingredients and choosing the variety of classic Caesar salad that you want to try, you can safely start preparing the dish. It doesn’t matter which component will be the main one in Caesar, the general principle of preparing this dish is always the same and understandable to the cook. So, to create a dish and sauce for it you will need:

  • one head of lettuce;
  • 1 baguette or white loaf per 200 grams;
  • 100 grams of cherry tomatoes, but other tomatoes will do;
  • 50 grams of Parmesan, but any other hard cheese will do;
  • 3 cloves of garlic;
  • 150 ml olive oil;
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice;
  • 1 tablespoon mustard;
  • 2 chicken eggs;
  • pepper and salt to your taste.

The last component of the classic Caesar salad, be it shrimp, mushrooms, or anything else, we always take in the amount of 200 grams. Then we simply combine torn leaves of green salad, croutons made from a loaf of bread and a completely ready-to-eat main component of the dish. After this, pour the sauce made from olive oil, lemon juice, mustard and egg yolks over the finished dish, sprinkle with grated cheese and serve the dish.

Preparing croutons for salad

It doesn’t matter whether you’re preparing a classic, simple Caesar salad with shrimp, chicken, bacon, mushrooms, or any other main ingredient, the first step in preparing the dish is to make crispy and flavorful croutons from the purchased loaf. To do this, you need to cut off all the crusts from the bread, and then cut it into small cubes. Next, prepare the sauce that will be poured over the crackers, for which we crush 1 clove of garlic with a knife and pour in three tablespoons of olive oil. After this, the composition should be heated in the microwave for 20 seconds, and you can pour it over the crackers, which you then put in the oven and dry for half an hour at a temperature of 150 ° C.

Preparing chicken fillet for salad

Most often, novice cooks prepare a classic Caesar salad recipe at home, the main component of which is chicken. Before cooking, chicken fillet should be thoroughly rinsed in running water and then dried with a paper towel. After this, the meat is cut lengthwise into 2-3 parts, salted on both sides and placed in a frying pan. Fry the chicken fillet until golden brown, which will take about 7-8 minutes. At the final stage of preparation, the chicken will have to be cooled to room temperature, and then cut into cubes or small slices - at your discretion.

Preparing shrimp for salad

Of all types of dishes, seafood lovers prefer the classic simple recipe for Caesar salad with shrimp. But before mixing with the rest of the ingredients, the seafood needs to be prepared. To do this, 200-300 grams of shrimp purchased in a supermarket or market should first be boiled in salted water for three minutes. After that, we peel them from the shell, put them in a bowl with olive oil and garlic and marinate for half an hour. At the final stage, before adding the ingredient to the salad, all that remains is to fry the shrimp over low heat for a minute so that they become a pleasant golden color.

Prepare romaine lettuce for adding to the dish

The most important ingredients in a classic, simple Caesar salad recipe are the lettuce leaves. The most commonly used leaves for this dish are romaine lettuce, but iceberg lettuce will also work. At the very beginning of preparation, you will need to thoroughly rinse the bunch of lettuce under running water and then leave to dry for 10 minutes. After this, the lettuce leaves need to be torn into large pieces and placed in ice water, so that they will not wither and will have a pleasant crunch while eating.

Preparing the dressing sauce

It doesn't matter whether we prepare a classic Caesar salad with chicken or with bacon, seafood or anything else - its most important ingredient is the sauce that is poured over the dish before serving. The first step is to bring the eggs to room temperature, for which you need to either remove them from the refrigerator a couple of hours before cooking, or put them in warm water for 10 minutes. Then boil the eggs for a minute, cool and separate their yolks from the whites.

After this, we begin to prepare the sauce for the classic Caesar salad. To do this, finely chop the garlic with a knife or crush it using a garlic press, and then grind it together with two yolks and mustard until smooth. After this, add the juice squeezed out of lemon and a small amount of salt to the dry mass, and at the end, gradually pour the remaining olive oil into the container, which will make the dressing liquid. The main thing is to constantly stir the sauce during cooking, and then the result will be simply magical.

How to properly decorate and serve a dish

Another very important aspect of creating a Caesar salad according to the classic recipe is its design and serving. To do everything correctly, you should lay out all the prepared ingredients in the right sequence. First comes a layer of crispy torn lettuce leaves, then a layer of a mixture of croutons and chicken or any other component (shrimp, bacon, mushrooms, feta cheese and the like), which can either be mixed together or laid out in a checkerboard pattern. The third layer is hard cheese, which is grated on a coarse grater directly above the dish. And finally, the dish is decorated with cherry tomatoes cut in half or slices of regular tomatoes.

Caesar salad with chicken and shrimp

As you can see, preparing Caesar salad at home according to the classic recipe is not difficult even for novice cooks. It’s also easy to prepare all sorts of variations of the recipe, the most common of which is to create this dish with chicken and shrimp together. To prepare it, you will need the same ingredients as for a regular Caesar salad, but there should be 150 grams of chicken fillet, and 100 grams of peeled shrimp. The process of preparing the dish is also identical to the classic recipe. The only thing is that in this case, when serving, the second layer will be chicken and shrimp, then the sauce is poured over the food, and the cheese is grated on it and croutons are placed on it. In this case, there is no need to add tomatoes.

Caesar salad with any additives

Having learned how to prepare Caesar salad with shrimp using a classic simple recipe, you can make this dish with any other additives. The main thing is to prepare them so that they are completely suitable for consumption without further processing. That is, mushrooms, fish should be boiled and fried, feta should be cut into large cubes, bacon should be cut... There are simply no limits to imagination. It is important that the amount of these additives is approximately equal to the amount of croutons and green salad, then the dish will be balanced and will please even the most picky gourmets.

Economical classic Caesar salad

It happens that there is simply no money for the most important ingredient of the salad, or there is a fast on the street and then you cannot eat shrimp, chicken, or any other meat or seafood. But this is not at all a reason to refuse your favorite dish, which can be prepared without any problems without this component. It’s just that in this case you will have to transform the classic Caesar salad recipe quite a bit. We will need:

  • 400 grams of romaine or iceberg lettuce leaves;
  • 100 grams of loaf;
  • 2 cloves of garlic;
  • 50 grams of olive oil;
  • 1 chicken egg;
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce;
  • 1 tablespoon of grated hard cheese;
  • pepper and salt to taste.

The first step is to tear the lettuce leaves and prepare croutons from bread toasted in the oven. Then you can start preparing the dish, for which you will first need to rub the bowl with garlic, and then put lettuce leaves on it, which must first be sprinkled with olive oil. Next, the lettuce leaves are moistened with Caesar salad sauce, which is prepared in the standard way, and a layer of croutons and grated cheese is placed on it. The salad is decorated with chopped boiled egg.

Quick Caesar salad

If it so happens that you don’t have time to prepare a classic simple Caesar salad with chicken or seafood, then this recipe can be slightly transformed and you can whip up your favorite dish. You will be able to save time due to the fact that you will not have to fry croutons in the oven, but will immediately buy ready-made ones in the supermarket - either regular ones or with different flavors (from garlic to hunting sausages), so that everyone can choose this ingredient at their own discretion. Yes, and the sauce in the salad can be replaced with regular mayonnaise. For such a dish, you just need to cook the chicken by frying it in a frying pan, and then put all the ingredients together and pour the salad with store-bought mayonnaise, which, of course, is better to take with a lower percentage of fat content.

Rolls with Caesar salad

If you are already tired of the classic recipe for Caesar salad with shrimp, chicken or any other additives, you can try preparing this dish in an unusual variation in the form of rolls. You can take this snack with you for a snack or put it on the table, which it will decorate due to its unusual nature. So, to prepare the rolls you will need:

  • thin sheet of lavash;
  • 150 grams of lettuce leaves;
  • 200 grams of chicken fillet, shrimp or any other additives;
  • 100 grams of juicy tomatoes;
  • 50 grams of hard cheese;
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil;
  • 150 grams of homemade mayonnaise or natural yogurt without flavoring;
  • 20 grams of capers;
  • 20 grams of mustard;
  • 60 grams of anchovies;
  • 20 grams of olives.

To prepare the rolls, first of all you will need to boil or grill the chicken fillet, and then, after cooling it, cut it into small pieces. To prepare rolls according to the classic Caesar salad recipe with shrimp, you can do it even simpler - just boil them and fry them. After this, you will need to cut the tomatoes into slices, grate 30 grams of cheese and tear the lettuce leaves into small pieces. At the next stage, all the remaining components are collected in a blender bowl and beaten there until smooth.

In conclusion, all that remains is to place the prepared ingredients on a layer of pita bread, after greasing it with half of the resulting sauce. The components are laid out with a five-centimeter deviation from the edge of the pita bread in this order - lettuce, tomatoes, grated cheese and chicken, shrimp or any other main component on top. Next, all the laid out ingredients are smeared with the remaining sauce and wrapped in a roll, which is placed in cling film and sent to the refrigerator for a couple of hours. At the end, the roll is cut into small rolls, and they can be served at the table or taken with you to work or school.
