Simple home-made methods of kindling honey while preserving its original properties. Video “Firebox in a water bath”

Sugared honey is practically no different from sweetness in liquid form, the taste is absolutely similar, but liquid is much more convenient to eat than thickened. In addition, the baked product is used for baking, so most housewives are interested in how to melt honey without losing useful properties.

Fundamental rules

A bee product contains a huge number of different beneficial properties, for example, minerals, vitamins, proteins and amino acids. A feature of such a product is that it is able to crystallize quickly, as a result of which it hardens. It is forbidden to overheat or boil a treat, as it can lose its healing properties.  If there is no knowledge on how to make candied honey liquid, some rules should be followed:

  • a ceramic bowl is needed;
  • do not overheat;
  • do not dilute with boiling water;
  • do not drown in large quantities;
  • do not mix;

To melt the product at home should only be in ceramic or glassware, for such purposes in no case can you use metal or plastic, because they will reward the bee product with harmful substances.

A crystallizing product should not be heated to more than 40 degrees Celsius so that it does not lose its beneficial properties. To deal with candied honey, you do not need to breed it with boiling water.

A frozen bee product should be drowned in a small amount, and best of all, as much as you can eat at a time, or the required amount for any recipe. After all, honey can be melted at any time, and with constant melting, it can lose its healing properties.

In no case should you mix different varieties of sweets, or the remnants of previous honey in a jar with a different kind. Based on the rules on how to melt honey correctly and how to make it liquid, it follows that if it is sugared, then you need to be patient, because you will have to heat it at a low temperature.

Heating methods

How to make honey liquid and what needs to be done for this? Almost all people store honey in a glass jar, and when honey is sugared, it is almost impossible to get it from there, which is why many people are interested in the question of how to melt honey. Dissolve the sweetness as follows:

  • water bath;
  • the sun;
  • battery;
  • in warm water;
  • in the microwave;
  • using lemon.

In order to melt honey in a water bath, you need two small saucepans of different sizes, a jar of candied honey, a wire rack, a spoon and a thermometer. It is necessary to pour water into a large pot, then install a small one so that it does not fall through. Then you should pour water into this pan and put the wire rack.

On this wire rack set a jar of sweetness, and put the saucepan on the fire. The main thing to remember is that the temperature of the water should not be more than 40 degrees C. The thermometer will help determine the temperature; once it reaches the required level, turn off the fire. Thus, it is possible to melt the product, and it will not lose its healing qualities.

The sweetness, which has time to thicken, can be melted in the sun, of course, if it is exposed to sunlight, then the beneficial properties can disappear, so it is important to monitor the melting process.

To melt a delicacy that managed to be sugared, you can near the battery or stove. To do this, you need to install a jar with a treat at the battery or on the stove. If the battery is too hot, you should put the jar close to it, but control the whole process and scroll the jar so that all its sides melt. Keep in mind that if it is wrong to store a bee product - it means to sugar honey ahead of time.

Warm water can also melt a bee product that has been prone to crystallization. To do this, open the tap water and put the jar in the sink, while pouring the drain. Water should not exceed the permissible temperature, i.e. 40 degrees C.

Will microwaves help?

Many people constantly argue about whether it is possible to melt honey in the microwave. Some of them say that heating a bee treat with a microwave helps to lose its beneficial qualities, but you should not overheat a treat very much, and then it will retain healing qualities. If you know how to properly heat a bee product in the microwave, you can "kill two birds with one stone" at the same time, melt the sweetness quickly enough and maintain useful properties.

Crockery must be glass or ceramic. You need to put the plate with the treat in the microwave, cover, then turn on the appliance at full power for about 1.5 - 2 minutes. Then it remains only to get the melted product and pour it into another dish that is convenient for you. (a controversial moment and it’s better not to do this, but it won’t hurt to know)

With lemon, you can melt only a small amount of the product. It is impossible to melt a large number of delicacies using this method, and it takes too much time. For example, a small plate, the ideal proportion would be: one tablespoon of sweetness per one slice of fresh lemon.

Blooming of the bee product is carried out in various ways, if done correctly, the treat will not lose its qualities and will delight the whole family.

Honeycomb sweetness

Honey is sugared in honeycombs quite rarely, but if this still happened, then there is no need to rush and reheat them into a liquid treat. You can simply cut them into small pieces, and then eat as a substitute for sweets or some other purchased and harmful sweets.

Cells that are chewed can either be spit out or swallowed at one’s discretion, because this will not cause harm to the body, but only on the contrary, will be beneficial, because the honeycomb consists exclusively of natural substances, which are often used as a medicine for many diseases.

A few words about how honey should not be melted in any case. For example, the addition of goodies to hot tea or hot milk. As you know, at high temperature the product loses its useful and healing properties, and boiled water exceeds 40 degrees Celsius. For this reason, do not add treats to boiling water. It is best to eat a spoon and drink hot tea or milk.

Summarize

So, a candied delicacy has the same smell, taste as melted. But, it’s much more convenient to eat sweets in a liquid state, for example, spread on a loaf or pour some dessert on it, and besides, for many, the recipe requires a liquid consistency of a bee product. To melt a delicacy is not difficult, but you should do it correctly so that it does not lose its useful qualities.

You can melt in several ways, for example, in a water bath, in warm water, in the sun (but with care), using a stove or battery, using a lemon. The main thing is to remember one important rule - the heating temperature should not exceed 40 degrees Celsius, otherwise the benefits of the product will disappear, and you can’t add a treat to hot tea or boiled milk, for the same reason.

The best option is simply to eat a spoonful of sweets and drink tea. The delicacy in the honeycombs does not have to be kindled, because the honeycombs can be cut into small pieces and consumed instead of purchased delicacies that contain a lot of sugar. Eating honeycombs is much more beneficial.

Honey is the product of the life of honey bees. This wonderful product comes from the processing of nectar. In addition to honey, beekeepers extract propolis, royal jelly, bee bread and wax from hives. All of these components are unique.

Having collected the sweet “gold” from the bees, people put the product in jars and other containers. Over time, the bee product thickens. People unfamiliar with beekeeping are interested in how to melt a honey product.

In most cases, nectar is used in liquid form. Some people believe that you cannot overheat a honey product because it will become useless. This is not entirely true. If everything is done according to the instructions, useful properties will not be lost.

Honey sugaring process begins a few months after collection

Honey is a living product, so it goes through several “life” stages. It should be noted that sweet "gold" consists of the following substances:

  • Sucrose;
  • Glucose
  • Fructose.

The crystallization process begins when glucose begins to precipitate in the form of crystals. That is why this process is called crystallization. People often say that the product of the vital activity of bees is sugared.

The crystallization process begins a few months after collection. The period of sugaring depends on the bee product variety.

It should be noted that the crystallization rate may depend not only on the nectar variety, but also on weather conditions. High humidity slows down the sugaring process.

At what temperature does honey lose its beneficial properties

In the event that sugaring has begun, it is necessary to melt the honey. Unfortunately, scientists have proven that when heated, honey products lose their beneficial properties. That is why it is necessary to understand to what temperature a bee product can be heated.

Nectar, heated to a temperature of +40 degrees, begins to lose its nutritional properties. Despite this, the resulting syrup will contain a sufficient amount of fructose and glucose. At the same time, the sweet “amber” will take on a dark shade and will no longer have its pleasant aroma. The longer the honey is heated, the worse it will be.

If the honey is heated to +45 degrees, it will instantly change its composition. Energy and nutritional value will be lost, besides enzymes will be destroyed.

That is why it is better to consume honey products separately from hot drinks.

In which bowl is it better to melt honey

At a temperature of +40 honey begins to lose its beneficial properties.

Regardless of the reason you have to reheat nectar, you must first prepare. In order to melt honey, it is best to use:

  • Glassware. A great option is a jar;
  • Ceramic containers;
  • Enameled dishes.

The choice of utensils for melting a honey product depends on the method that the person will use. Some people are interested in the question of whether it is possible to use plastic utensils or containers. It’s best not to do this. Otherwise, an unforeseen situation may occur.

How to melt honey

To melt crystallized nectar, you must choose a method that will make the product liquid. Before starting work, it should be noted that it is better not to overfuse the entire stock. This is due to the loss of beneficial properties, that is, when re-kindling, the honey product will lose all its nutritional and healing properties.

  • Do not heat the product above 45 degrees;
  • During re-burning, it is categorically not recommended to combine different varieties of nectar;
  • Exclude the ingress of water into the product of the vital activity of bees;
  • Flush sweet "gold" only in small portions.

If honey has succeeded, it is easy to melt it, the main thing is to adhere to the rules for the implementation of recrystallization.

We drown honey in a glass jar

Honey can be drowned directly in the bank. Just put it next to a warm battery

Sugared nectar is easiest to melt in a jar. This method is best used in winter when the heating is working. It is best to use a liter jar, which is filled with a thick sweet "amber". After that, the capacity is installed next to the battery. If desired, you can use the oven. The only disadvantage of this method is that the container must be constantly rotated. If this is not done, the product of the vital activity of the bees will melt only on one side.

We drown honey in a water bath

Many people are interested in the question of how to melt honey in a water bath. This is the most common way to melt a product. To recrystallize the product, it is recommended to draw hot water into the pan, and then put a jar of honey.

It should be noted that the water will cool quickly, so it is best to add or change it. The bee product will become liquid quickly enough. It is important that the water in the tank is not hotter than 50 degrees.

We drown honey in the microwave

Nowadays, 80% of the population has a microwave. So the question is, is it possible to melt honey in the microwave? Many people argue that this is not possible. Despite this, you can try to melt the candied bee nectar. To do this, use the dishes that are allowed to put in the microwave. It is enough to put a container with honey for a few minutes, and then remove it from the oven.

In addition, it is worth remembering the temperature, it should not exceed 45 degrees.

We use the oven

After the honey has begun to crystallize, it can be melted in an electric or gas oven. To perform the recrystallization procedure, it is necessary to prepare a saucepan with water. At the next step, a container of honey is placed in the water.   The saucepan is installed in the oven, on which the temperature regime is set - 40 degrees.  As for time, it's hard to say, it all depends on the capacity that they set to warm up. As soon as the plastic mass appears, the container can be removed from the oven. In addition, do not forget to periodically mix the nectar.

Alternative tricks

In the summer it is so hot that even in the shade the temperature reaches +40 degrees. This can be used to melt honey. A jar of bee products is exposed in the sun. After this, it remains only to wait until the nectar melts.

When using this method, it is necessary to remember the dangers of ultraviolet radiation, which means that it is best to wrap a jar with a towel. It is important to periodically check the condition of the nectar so that it does not overheat.

Will Lemon Make Honey Liquid

Few people know, but vitamin C in lemon can melt honey

Few people know, but you can melt honey with lemon. This result is obtained because citrus contains acid and vitamin C. It is necessary to cut the lemon into large slices, and then place it in a container with a sweet “amber”. Soon, we will get a real medical product that can be used to treat acute respiratory infections, colds, flu, tonsillitis and scarlet fever.

We drown honey directly in the comb

Honey in honeycombs can be heated using a water bath or microwave. Honeycombs are best broken into several pieces, and then placed in a container. After re-burning, wax and debris will rise up. With a spoon, everything is neatly collected, and honey is used as a treat, utility or therapeutic agent.

On a note

In order for honey not to crystallize longer, it is necessary to find out how long a particular type of bee product can remain liquid. If crystallization nevertheless occurred, you should choose the appropriate method, and then proceed to the melting of nectar. It is important, melting honey, to observe the temperature regime, otherwise the product will not have a healing effect.

During storage, the sweet product quickly turns into a solid mass - crystallization occurs. The question arises: how to pour honey into cans, because in this case it is not easy to do this. To return to its previous appearance and consistency, the product must be well heated. This must be done correctly, otherwise the substance will lose its useful properties. As a result of this procedure, the honey becomes liquid and is stored in this state for several months until it begins to crystallize again. Why this process occurs and how to heat the honey, making it liquid, will be described later.

What does crystallization mean

Everyone knows that honey can be candied. This process is the transition of a substance from a liquid state to a thick one, and then to a solid one. The nature of this process is determined by the following factors:

  • variety;
  • amount of fluid;
  • glucose indicators;
  • storage conditions (including air temperature).

Note!Crystallization is subject to both a natural bee product and its substitute. Moreover, if saccharization does not occur over time, this means that the substance contains many unnecessary elements.

Interesting facts about crystallization:

  • This process is slower if the amount of water in honey exceeds 20%. This indicates a low quality of the purchased goods - the sweetness was diluted.
  • The upper liquid layer hardened in the depths of the product indicates the immaturity of the healing agent. This means that the liquid part consists of fructose. The more it is, the longer the honey retains its original shape.
  • Substances such as sucrose and glucose provide a sugar process.
  • Constant fluctuations in air temperature during storage contribute to faster hardening.
  • With a high content of minerals, saccharization occurs slowly and no layers form.

How to melt honey: safe methods

To turn a bee product into a liquid mass, you need to resort to one of the following methods:

How to melt honey in a glass jar in a water bath

Sugaring a product is easy, while the reverse process presents some difficulty. Among all existing methods of kindling honey, this is the best. When heating in a glass jar, it is important to constantly monitor the temperature indicators, which should not exceed the mark of 40 ° C.

Before pouring honey from a jar into a jar, hot water is poured into the bottom of the pan. Then a container of nectar is placed in it. Another option is to place the jar not in water, but on a metal stand located above a pot of boiling water. Instead of a grid, you can use a second pan of smaller sizes.

Important!Do not reheat all honey whole. It is enough to postpone the amount that is planned to be eaten in the coming days. After some time, the product begins to sugar again, and it will have to be reheated, which is not recommended.

How to melt honey in a glass jar in a water bath

Heating near the battery

This is the simplest method, the main condition of which is to provide free space between the jar and the battery. 10-40 cm is enough. The distance depends on how hot the battery is: the stronger it is heated, the farther the product container is located. The advantage of this method is the guarantee of maintaining the beneficial qualities of nectar, the disadvantage is the protracted nature of this process.

Naturally

To melt honey, which is sugared in a glass jar, you can in the summer by setting the container in the sun. The glass jar should be wrapped in a thick cloth and placed in a well-lit area. The vessel must be regularly deployed, exposing the cold side to the hot rays of the sun.

In the microwave

The fastest way to melt hardened healing sweetness is to heat it in the microwave. Despite the frequent use of this method, it still causes some controversy. There is an opinion not confirmed by science that all useful compounds (enzymes and amino acids) contained in honey are destroyed under the influence of microwave radiation.

In the microwave

A jar of product is placed in the microwave. For 40 sec. the oven is placed in defrost mode. The action is repeated several times, stirring at each stage. The kindling does not occur evenly, so sweetness should be mixed regularly.

In the oven

After crystallization begins, the product can be made liquid using a gas or electric oven. To do this, prepare a container with water, into which then a jar of honey is placed. The saucepan is put in the oven, in which the temperature indicator is pre-set - 40 ° C. The kindling time depends on the volume of the dishes and the material from which it is made. The container can be removed from the oven after the hardened product turns into a plastic mass. Also, in the process of recrystallization, healing nectar must be stirred from time to time.

Decrystallizer

This is a special apparatus designed to heat the beekeeping product. Beekeepers buy this device to give nectar a salable appearance. Liquid honey looks much more attractive and pouring it is much more convenient.

The device is able to melt the product, while preserving its useful properties. The surface of the honey pan is continuous, due to which the thickened nectar melts evenly. The device is equipped with a sensor that signals the end of the decrystallization process. If you ignore this signal and continue to heat the product, the healing elements of bee gold will begin to collapse.

Decrystallizer

Note!  If 3-4 months have passed since the pumping out of honey, but the product has a liquid consistency, you need to ask why this is so. Thus, it will be clear whether honey is natural and whether it has lost its useful characteristics (often, in order to increase sales, unscrupulous sellers can use ordinary heating).

Honey Melting Rules

First you need to choose the best heating method. Next, you need to separate the part of the product that is planned to be used in the near future. The remaining nectar is best left in storage.

In the process of recrystallization, certain rules should be adhered to, namely:

  • do not heat the product more than 40 ° C;
  • it is not allowed to mix different varieties of honey;
  • you need to ensure that water does not get into the nectar;
  • sweetness should be heated in small portions.

In which bowl is it better to melt honey

Melting honey is best suited for glass containers. As such, it can be a glass jar or a bottle. Also, for the process of decrystallization of bee sweets, you can use ceramic or enameled dishes. The exact choice will depend on which heating method is selected.

Important!  Dishes made of plastic are not recommended.

At what temperature does honey lose its beneficial properties

If honey crystallizes, the product must be melted. In most cases, when the bee "gold" is heated, nectar loses its beneficial qualities. In order for the result to be successful and at the same time to retain healing properties, it is important to follow a number of rules and recommendations when melting honey.

If the recrystallization temperature exceeds 40 ° C, the product will turn into an ordinary sweet treat without any useful and nutritious elements. But even in this case, substances such as fructose and glucose will remain in the syrup. Bright yellow "amber" syrup will get a darker shade and lose its original fragrant aroma.

Important!  The longer the recrystallization process, the worse the quality of the nectar. At 45 ° C, honey will immediately change its composition, namely, the decomposition of enzymes will occur, the energy value of the product will be lost.

How not to heat candied honey

In solid form, nectar is not very convenient, and how to pour honey from a jar in this case is also a question. Therefore, it is better to melt the product, but the success of the event will depend on compliance with the rules and recommendations. In addition to the latter, there are various myths and assumptions that, on the contrary, cannot be adhered to. How, after all, is it not worth it to heat honey?

  • Firstly, do not drink syrup with hot drinks (tea, warmed milk, cocoa, etc.) or add honey to them. In this case, the drink will be completely useless, since the syrup will completely lose its useful properties.
  • Secondly, not the best way to heat honey - using a microwave. Despite some advantages (simplicity and speed), there is a main drawback - the natural qualities of honey, as well as in the first case, will be lost as a result of structural changes in the product.

Based on the foregoing, there are a number of optimal methods for recrystallizing honey at home, which has undergone a natural saccharization process. Syrup, which managed to harden or thicken, is easy to melt. If you follow the simple rules and tips on the procedure for melting a bee product, nectar will acquire its original - liquid - shape and pleasant elasticity, while retaining its healing qualities.

According to archaeological research, the first bees inhabited our planet 56 million years before the appearance of man. Scientists assume that the primitive inhabitant hunted for honey as a valuable and useful product. This can be traced to cultural monuments. For example, in Spain, a stone was found with the image of a man who extracted a delicacy, surrounded by bees on all sides.

Stone in Spain

In modern times, bee products are no less popular. The most common of these is honey. It is used for the prevention, treatment and support of the general body tone. The delicacy consists of more than 70 valuable substances: vitamins, enzymes and phytoncides. These trace elements are absorbed in the human body better than their synthetic counterparts. Therefore, it is important to know how to melt the honey without losing its beneficial properties.

After some time, natural honey crystallizes, thickens, most often it occurs in late summer and autumn. The process arises due to a change in the ratio of the main parts of the treat: fructose, glucose and water.

Glucose has the property of poorly soluble in water, in contrast to highly soluble fructose. Consequently, the more glucose in honey, the faster it is candied. The rate of crystallization also depends on other factors. For example, on the temperature conditions in which the product of beekeeping is stored. The optimum condition for crystallization is the air temperature of 15 ° C, with values below 4 ° C, the process slows down.

Honey harvested from acacia, chestnut and linden is thicker than other varieties. Also, the rate of hardening of the treat is influenced by the content of solid inclusions, for example, pollen, the level of humidity, the degree of its maturity.

Reference. Often, in pursuit of profit, beekeepers falsify their products and add various foreign substances to it. Such a product can be stored for a long time in a liquid state and does not crystallize for a long time.

Candied product does not differ from liquid in its healing properties. But it is more pleasant and convenient to use the treat in a liquid form. If you heat the treat to high temperatures or boil it, then it will lose its benefit, the enzymes and trace elements in its composition will collapse.

Melted honey

Heating sweets more than 40 ° C leads to the loss of all medicinal properties. For the same reason, it can not be diluted with boiling water.

Do not mix different varieties, you only need to melt one type of product. Otherwise, the mass will be non-uniform.

Properly melt honey is possible only at a low temperature and this will take a certain amount of time. There are several ways to achieve a liquid consistency of delicacy.

Honey Melting Techniques

How to melt honey in a glass jar

Melting bee nectar in a glass jar is the easiest way to get a liquid product. The container with it must be placed near the heat source. This may be a battery or something else with a low temperature. The container can be left in water heated not higher than 50 ° C. For large dishes well suited bath with water.

Melting bee nectar in a glass jar

Water bath

Heating bee nectar in a water bath is also a fairly simple way. For melting you need two containers, most often use pots - large and small. They are put on the stove, one in the other, the right amount of candy is placed on top of a small pot. In large poured water. It is necessary to monitor the temperature of heating, the substance should not be heated above 40 - 50 ° C. In the process, the bee product must be constantly stirred.

Microwave

Reheating honey in a microwave is a new method. Opponents of the method claim that under the influence of microwaves, the healing agent loses its qualities, but there is no evidence of this fact yet.

When using the described method, it is necessary to take into account the dimensions of the container with the honey mass, so that it fits in the microwave and until it comes into contact with the upper inside part of the equipment. Do not cover the container with a lid.

  • adjust the power to 200 watts and select the defrost mode;
  • adjust the timer for about 30 seconds;
  • after the set time has expired, remove the product and mix it;
  • repeat the procedure until you get the consistency of goodies.

With lemon

Melting honey with lemon is suitable for a small amount of goodies. As a result, you can get not only a liquid product, but also a wonderful dessert, which is additionally rich in vitamin C and other useful trace elements. To do this, mix honey and lemon in proportion to one slice of fruit per teaspoon of delicacy. Lemon - honey mixture can be added to soft drinks.

Honey and lemon

How to melt honey comb

The substance in the honeycomb crystallizes quite rarely. But if the product is still candied in the comb, you can melt it in a water bath or in a microwave oven. Honeycomb is recommended to break into several pieces. In the process of heating all the debris will pop up, it must be removed with a spoon. The resulting liquid nectar is ready for use.

Conclusion

If the honey has been properly harvested and stored in recommended conditions, then its crystallization will begin several months after production. If in the middle of winter it remains in a liquid state, it may be a fake product, or melting took place just before the sale. Melting delicacy should occur under certain conditions. Overheating leads not only to loss of healing properties, but also to the release of toxic substances. Knowing how to melt honey, the main methods of heating, will help you to use a delicious and healthy dessert at any time of the year.

  • 1. Temperature, dishes and other important conditions
  • 2. How to make honey more plastic?
  • 2.1. Gas or electric oven
  • 2.2. Water bath
  • 2.3. Microwave
  • 2.4. Other improvised means

During storage, different varieties of honey are candied in different ways: from fine to coarse-crystalline structure. However, only the cream-honey retains plasticity, the rest over time become more and more solid. To use them in this state is very difficult. And there are a lot of cases when it is necessary to melt honey.

After all, if it is stored in a large capacity, sooner or later there is a problem with moving it into smaller dishes. With regular use, for example, for medical purposes, it generally makes sense to distribute it in small banks by volume and store it in separate portions that periodically melt: sometimes because of the hardness of the candied product, it becomes difficult to even type it in a spoon. However, this process has its own nuances and it is necessary to know how to melt the honey and not lose its useful properties.

Temperature, dishes and other important conditions

Depending on why you need honey, you need to choose the appropriate temperature regime:

  • the healing properties of the sweet medicine disappear with prolonged heating at a temperature of more than 50 degrees. Optimal to change the dense crystalline structure to a softer and more plastic, the temperature is considered to be up to 40 degrees;
  • if you use the treat only for culinary purposes, then you should not worry much about the temperature regime. From a brief heating at high temperatures, of course, a harmful compound, oxymethylfurfural, begins to be released, but its amount is not critical to human health.

Before you begin the process of heating it is worth taking care of using the appropriate utensils:

  • preference should be given to earthenware, ceramic or glass containers or cans, in which it will be convenient to store the product in the future;
  • under no circumstances should plastic or metal utensils be used. When heated, they can react with the acidic medium of honey, which will adversely affect its quality. If there is no particular choice, then when using a metal container, it is better to give preference to enamelled containers.

When heated, it is better not to mix different varieties, do not add water to it, so it will quickly deteriorate and ferment. The same applies to the sterility and tightness of dishes: only a clean and tightly closed can will provide a “live” product with long-term storage.

If you need very little honey, and it is stored in bulk containers, it makes no sense to expose its entire volume to high temperatures. It is better to postpone the required amount with a small margin separately, melt and use it.

How to make honey more plastic?

If it is possible to melt natural honey with automatically controlled temperature conditions, it is best to use it, of course. The time required to melt the honey cannot be accurately determined, since everything depends on the volume of the dish in which it is located and the level of crystallization.

Gas or electric oven

You can put a container of honey in a pot of water and put the whole structure in a gas or electric oven with a temperature control set at 40 degrees. It is impossible to recommend the exact time: until the crystal structure begins to melt.

Immediately after this, the container is taken out, mixed thoroughly and left to stand, so that the mass becomes homogeneous. It does not make sense to warm up to a liquid consistency; rather, plasticity appears in the mass. So honey just does not lose the healing qualities. If this is not possible, it is necessary to use improvised means.

Water bath

The most famous method allows you to quickly dissolve a large amount of honey - is to use a water bath, and sometimes, at home, and the most affordable. However, the accuracy of the temperature mode can be monitored only with a home thermometer.

For this:

  • you need to take a container in which honey is stored (most often it is a glass jar), put it in a pan of a suitable volume and completely fill it with water;
  • then take a second pan, which is two or three times the volume of the first;
  • install the first pot of honey in the second, so that they do not touch the surfaces. Often this can be achieved through handles, which can be stably placed on the walls of a larger capacity;
  • fill the bottom pan with water so that it does not reach the bottom of the top;
  • start the heating process, so that the water in the lower pan boils, and the steam from it provides heating to the top.

Detailed video instructions on how to do it at home are very much on the Internet. One of them you can see below.

How to melt honey in a water bath

Microwave

Of course, a microwave is one of the most convenient tools in the kitchen. All have long been accustomed to the functionality of this technique, it has a mass of qualities, one of which is great power.

It should be borne in mind that the use of a microwave for such a product as honey is simply not provided for by most manufacturers, and it will be up to you to set the program parameters at your discretion. It is impossible to predict the effect in advance, the experiment may not be the most successful, and it may adversely affect the quality and beneficial properties of the nectar processed by bees.

However, there are several recommendations on how to melt honey, if it is candied in a dish suitable for a microwave: in heat-resistant or dark glass. To do this, it must be heated for no more than two minutes at maximum power up to 600 watts. Immediately after the end of time, it is taken out and thoroughly mixed with a ceramic or wooden spoon to distribute the heated mass over the entire container.

Other improvised means

In summer, the air temperature often reaches 40 degrees in the shade. You can simply put the honey in the sun and wait until it warms up. However, it should be remembered: exposure to ultraviolet radiation is no less harmful to honey than high temperatures. A jar of honey needs to be properly wrapped, and sometimes glanced at the thermometer - in case of temperature increase, immediately bring it home.

In winter, the honey can be heated either close by or on the central heating radiator. The method is not the most reliable, but if you close the jar and leave it warm, the result will definitely be. Usually, the process is quite long, so it is better to plan it for the night, and in the morning thoroughly mix the melted and non-melted layers to a uniform consistency.

The curative properties of nectar processed by bees can be saved only by ensuring it has the right conditions for storage and use. One of the most important conditions is temperature. It depends on its observance how long the honey will remain your assistant in the fight for health and how useful its application will be.
