Before being packaged, coffee beans undergo strict testing steps. Qualified technologists allow only high-quality and ideal coffee beans to be produced. At the first stage, technologists weed out “defective” grains. On the second, experts select grains with the most ideal shape.

Only high-quality coffee fruits are allowed to the third stage. The third stage is the final step of production. Here the grains are roasted, cooled and, if necessary, ground.

Please note: coffee beans are roasted using high-tech equipment, thanks to which it is possible to preserve not only the excellent taste and aroma, but also the nutritional value.

Not long ago, the packaging of coffee products underwent changes. In the new design, the company logo, as a sign of quality, adorns the packaging on top. In the same place of the logo, there is a gold-colored coffee cup - as a symbol.

Brands with history have always evoked respect and trust among buyers. This also applies to Finnish coffee from Paulig. This is the second most popular coffee supplier in Russia and the first in the Baltic countries.

About the brand

For more than 140 years, Gustav Paulig's company has been supplying the world market with several types and varieties of coffee for every taste. This enterprising German moved to Finland from Germany to start his own business. It remains a family business to this day.

The year of foundation of a small grocery store selling colonial goods is considered to be 1867. Gustav Paulig offered the residents of Helsinki cognac, salt and coffee President. This is the current name of the product. In those days, it was green bean coffee, which city residents roasted at home.

Gustav was an enterprising man. In order to expand trade, he advertised in newspapers and offered delivery and special conditions to wholesale buyers. Very soon, he was the first in his business to register the so-called logo, which is the Latin capital letter P. It was a kind of sign of the quality of the products being sold, causing greater confidence among the buyer.

The company developed quickly and dynamically. Very soon the main product sold through the chain of stores was coffee. Gustav took a guess at the method of technical roasting of green coffee beans, built his own roasting shop and began selling already roasted beans.

Company logo

After Gustav's death, the company's affairs were managed by his wife, and later by his sons and grandsons. The business grew and expanded. He needed to go beyond Finland. To this end, another innovative move was adopted. The company has its own identity. It was a girl in national costume named Paula. Her image with a copper coffee pot in her hands appeared on the company's products. She appeared at all official events. In many ways, the history of the brand is reminiscent of the formation and development of another European coffee leader - Julius Meinl.

Today, the central office and largest roasting plant of the Gustav Paulig Group is located in Helsinki. The product range has grown greatly, as has the communications system. The company works closely with wholesale buyers and cafe chains, conducts seminars, training programs, and promotes coffee as a product.

Not long ago, brand offices were opened in St. Petersburg and Moscow. And a new roasting plant was built in the Tver region of Russia.

Coffee President ground from the company Paulig I “tried it” about 1.5 years ago. Then Magnit had a promotion on it - two packs of 250 grams for 152 rubles. I bought 4 packs (1 kg of coffee) at once! And then for a long time I regretted that I didn’t take more, since I drink it quite a lot, and its average price without a promotion for one pack is about 300 rubles.

Here is a package with a vacuum inside, which allows you to keep coffee aromatic and dry for a longer period:

In general, Paulig is a Finnish company. But this particular coffee is made in Russia.

The packaging contains all sorts of useful and simply promotional information:

What do I like about this coffee?

1. Degree of roasting. The coffee is not heavily roasted and therefore has a mild taste (not bitter).

2. Aroma. This is perhaps the most aromatic coffee I've ever drunk. Moreover, the aroma comes from both unprepared coffee and prepared coffee.

3. Easy to prepare. I am coffee President I just brew it in a cup, cover it with a saucer and wait about 10 minutes, then drink it. I don’t feel like fiddling with gas and Turk (especially in the morning). Maybe brewing it the way I do doesn’t “squeeze all the juices” out of this coffee, but I’m happy with it anyway.

Minus coffee:

Coffee is quite expensive - the price in the store for a 250 gram package is about 300 rubles (if not on sale).

Result:

The taste and aroma of this coffee is very similar to coffee President beans, which is not surprising. It's almost impossible to tell the difference.
