Although, I also cooked it with white “Quiche-mish”, which is why the taste did not deteriorate at all. The main thing is that the grapes are seedless.

I’ll say right away: the “Black Chicken” salad is not for those who count calories! But it is very well suited for those who need an “energy charge”. Let me make a reservation that there are a huge number of options for preparing salads with this name. Moreover, they are completely different from each other. The only thing they have in common is the chicken component and the presence of a black ingredient (grapes, prunes).

Some people suggest using smoked meat, others adding orange. I will outline my version of the recipe and possible variations to it.

Cooking steps:

1) Wash the chicken breast, cut into thin small pieces, add salt and let sit for 5-10 minutes.

Salad with prunes and chicken breast has entered our lives not so long ago. They started preparing it often around the beginning of the last decade. At the moment, there are simply a huge number of different recipes that contain both prunes and chicken. Secondly, in most cases, a lot of greens and walnuts are added to such salads, which ensures the presence of simply a huge amount of vitamins.

The peculiarity of this salad is the absence of salt and pepper in its composition. Of course, these products can be added to this dish, but then it will be a completely different salad.

  • Chicken fillet - 4 pcs.
  • Hard cheese - 150 gr.
  • Chicken eggs - 5 pcs.
  • Prunes - 200 gr.
  • Champignons - 400 gr.
  • Walnut - 100 gr.
  • Sour cream - 2 tbsp. l.
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tbsp. l.
  • Dried herbs - to taste

Preparation:

Wash the chicken fillet, boil in salted water until tender and chop finely.

  • Orange - 1 pc.

Step 1: Preparing the chicken.

Rinse the chicken fillet, pour 400 ml. hot water and add 1/2 spoon of salt. Bring the chicken fillet to a boil over high heat, remove the foam, and then cook over low heat for another 15 minutes. After the fillet is ready, let it cool in the broth, then remove it, dry it, and cut it into small cubes.

Rinse it, fill it with hot water and leave for 30 minutes. After this, drain the water, let the prunes dry and cut into the same small pieces.

Step 3: Preparing the orange.

Now rinse the orange, peel it, remove white fibers and cut out slices from the membrane. Then cut each slice into 3 parts.

Step 4: Chop remaining ingredients.


Crab sticks, cut into the same small pieces as prunes and chicken. Chop 50 grams of walnuts.

Step 5: Forming the salad.

Let's start building the salad. Black chicken salad is layered. Place the layers in the salad bowl in the following order: chicken fillet, walnuts, prunes, orange, crab sticks.

Step 6: Serve to the table.

After the layers are laid, pour mayonnaise on top and decorate with chopped nuts. Salad ready. Enjoy your meal!

It is better to cook thawed fillet. If your pieces are fresh from the freezer, defrost them.

Choose pitted prunes right away so as not to bother yourself with peeling them.

Try to cut the ingredients into equal sized pieces.

Boil the chicken fillet in 1 liter of water for 30 minutes, adding half a teaspoon of salt to the broth. I used breast meat, but any other part of the chicken will work.
Cool the fillet and chop finely.


Grate the cheese on a grater with large holes. Give preference to semi-hard cheeses with sufficient salt content, not bland. And as an experiment, you can try making a salad with smoked cheese.


Rinse the prunes thoroughly with warm water and cut into thin strips or small cubes. If the dried fruit is too dry, first pour boiling water over it for 15 minutes.


Chop the walnuts with a knife or using a blender. For more flavor, it is recommended to lightly toast the nuts in a dry frying pan first.
Leave a few nuts for decoration.


In a deep container, combine all the prepared ingredients: chicken, cheese, prunes and nuts. Season with a spicy sauce consisting of mayonnaise, pressed garlic and ground black pepper. Mix.
I don’t add salt, because it is already contained in mayonnaise and cheese, and we salted the chicken during cooking, but if you still don’t have enough salt for your taste, then add an additional pinch.
It is advisable to let the salad brew by placing it in the refrigerator for an hour, but eating it right away is also not forbidden.
“Black Chicken” salad can be served in a common salad bowl or in portions. Use walnut halves and greens to decorate the dish.
