How to dye eggs beautifully at home. How to paint Easter eggs with polka dots

The custom of dyeing eggs for Easter and then giving each other bright colors appeared, according to Tradition, almost 2000 years ago. The Easter egg is a symbol of the Resurrection, miracle and joy.

Traces of the most famous methods of dyeing Easter eggs are lost in the depths of history. Initially, the shells were painted exclusively red, but over time the tradition has changed, and now no one can be surprised by either mother-of-pearl, multi-colored, or patterned eggs.

There are methods of coloring and decoration great amount, and every year more and more new ones appear, which does not cancel the classic ones. And each has its own subtleties. However, in any case, before the procedure, the shell must be thoroughly washed and free of dirt, otherwise the color will be uneven.

How to dye eggs with onion skins

This is a traditional way to dye eggs, which also does not require much expense. The color of the shell ranges from yellow-brown to rich brown-red, depending on the concentration of natural dye in the broth. The more husks, the darker the eggs will be (usually housewives begin collecting them a couple of months before Easter).

The more husk, the darker the eggs. Dyeing time has less effect.

The husk is placed in a saucepan and a decoction is made from it, after which it is allowed to brew. After this, you need to lower the eggs into the water with the husks, put it on the fire and bring everything to a boil. After 10 minutes, the eggs will acquire the desired color. The advantage of this coloring method is that it uses natural, natural dye, completely safe for the body.

How to paint eggs with birch leaves

It is not always possible to get fresh birch leaves for Easter, but dry ones are quite suitable for this method of coloring, although the effect will not be so impressive. The shell becomes pleasantly golden or yellow. The broth should be infused for at least half an hour, otherwise the eggs will turn out very pale.

The eggs should be placed in warm water with leaves and left to cook. After the liquid boils, you need to wait another 10 minutes, and then you can remove everything from the heat and leave to cool.

Other natural dyes

In addition to traditional onion peels and birch leaves, there are other ways to color the shells using natural products. What can I use?

Pour water into a saucepan with eggs, add a spoonful of vinegar, then bring to a boil along with one of the following products: green apple peels, blueberries, beets, carrots, turmeric roots, shells walnuts, red cabbage leaves, coffee, nettles, spinach, onions, lemons or oranges.

To make the color even brighter and more saturated, you need to leave the eggs in vinegar solution overnight in the refrigerator.

Coloring eggs with food coloring

Fans of environmentally friendly solutions can skip this chapter. Because we're talking about chemistry. But in fairness, let’s say that these are food chemicals, that is, completely safe. We are talking about ready-made dyes, which are sold in stores before the holidays and allow you to achieve the most incredible colors and shades of the shell.

Using these dyes is very simple: just dip them in warm water with the purchased powder and a small amount Add vinegar to the pre-cooked egg and wait a few minutes. It is best to turn the egg in the container (twist it) from time to time, otherwise an uncolored spot may remain where it touches the bottom.

Dyes with a metallic sheen look especially luxurious, however, if you hold such an egg in your hands for a long time, a significant part of the shining pollen will remain on them.

Fantasy ideas for Easter colors

If, before dipping the eggs into onion broth or food coloring, you stick a patch or curly designs on the shell, you will get a light pattern. In this case, a person’s imagination is practically unlimited.

« Marble eggs" You can, for example, do marble pattern: apply boiled onion skins from all sides to the egg, wrap it in a cotton napkin, tie the ends and put it in water - the ornament turns out very beautiful!

Another way to create a marble pattern is to add a little vegetable oil to the container: then the paint will form decorative spots that look very impressive.

"Speckled eggs." First you need to wet the eggs and then roll them in rice cereal, then wrap it in thick fabric (for example, nylon or gauze), tie it in a knot so that the rice sticks to the egg, and cook in onion skins.

"Grass". An egg turns out very beautiful if you stick a beautiful leaf (parsley, for example, or celery) on it, wrap it in a cloth and then boil it in a decoction.

"Thread". If you wrap the eggs with thread before lowering them into colored water, you will get an unusual and interesting pattern.

"Striped eggs." Do striped eggs quite simple, especially if you use food colorings. To do this, you need to prepare several solutions of different colors with the addition of vinegar to better fix the shade. After this, the pre-boiled egg needs to be dipped halfway in one of the dyes. You can hold it with your hands required time or do it differently: pour about a quarter or a third of the solution into a regular glass and drop the egg into it: it will be fixed and only half will be colored. After this, turn it over and dip it into a solution of a different color. If the shades overlap, it will turn out even more beautiful!

"Dinosaur Egg" Dry boiled eggs should be tightly wrapped in gauze, securing the ends with an elastic band or tying them with thread. After this, the bundle is dipped into a solution with food coloring (it is especially good if it is dark green or brown). The gauze will leave white streaks on the shell, while the rest of the surface will be well painted. The result will be an imitation of the eggs of ancient reptiles.

"Wax". The wax needs to be melted in a water bath and first one half of the egg should be dipped into it, and then the other. After this, veins in any quantity or pattern are squeezed out with a thread along the entire circumference of the shell. After the wax hardens, the eggs are dipped into warm water with paint: only the open areas will become colored. If, after complete coloring, the wax does not come off well, then the eggs should be placed in the refrigerator for a while.

"Silk patterns". The eggs are boiled with a small amount of soda, then wrapped in pieces of silk and tied with thread. The eggs are then boiled again in the same water as before. After removing the shreds, an interesting pattern will remain on the shell.

Some subtleties of proper egg coloring

There are several subtleties that will allow you to achieve the perfect result when coloring eggs:

To make the paint go on more evenly, wipe the shell with alcohol or soap solution. This will get rid of any contamination, and the eggs will turn out very beautiful;

To give the finished eggs a shine, they need to be greased. vegetable oil: the shell will simply shine;

If you just took the eggs out of the refrigerator, then before boiling and coloring they should be given time to warm up until room temperature;

When using food coloring, do not add vinegar to purple or red water. It is better to first hold the egg in a vinegar solution and clean water a couple of minutes, and then dip it into the paint.

Why are eggs painted?

The custom of dyeing eggs is associated with the legend according to which Mary Magdalene came with the good news of the resurrection of Jesus to the Emperor of Rome Tiberius. He did not believe the woman, saying that this simply could not happen; a chicken egg would sooner turn red than he would accept her words as truth. At the same instant, the egg that Mary was holding in her hand became colored, after which the emperor had no choice but to recognize this miracle, like the resurrection of Christ. U different nations There are versions of the origin of the tradition, but this one is accepted as the main one by Christians all over the world.

How to dry eggs?

Before starting master classes, you need to decide where and how you will store the unfinished results of your creativity? It’s very easy to smear the design if you just place the egg on a flat surface. There are several options:

  1. Use containers to store eggs. The pattern will be less blurred in them.
  2. Take foam rubber and toothpicks. Insert the toothpicks into the foam rubber at such a distance that you can place your creation inside.
  3. Buy special stands. You can build them yourself. For example, make a cardboard ring in which you will place the egg after painting.

I myself am still just preparing for total Easter coloring I’ve tried a couple of methods so far, I’ll share my findings further.

Natural ways

In the meantime, keep a very valuable sign that shows most of the simplest options for decorating eggs with the most natural dyes at home. All of them require vinegar - add one tablespoon of it to a saucepan of water.

Presented here:

  1. Coffee. You can also use tea, since it is much more accessible and you don’t have to grind anything. It turns out a beautiful brown shade.
  2. Beet. My favorite color is pink or raspberry, it all depends on the soaking time. It is recommended to soak for 8 hours.
  3. Carrot. A bright festive color will be given to you by carrots, from which you will need to squeeze the juice and then boil the eggs in the resulting solution.
  4. Spinach. A somewhat unexpected way for our latitudes, isn’t it?) You will need spinach if you want to get a delicate green color.
  5. Cabbage. To get blue eggs, take a couple of heads of red cabbage, chop finely and mix with 500 ml of water. Leave the eggs here for 8 hours, covering the top with film.
  6. Turmeric. But she will give sunny yellow. Pre-grind the turmeric (you should get 2-3 tablespoons) and cook until boiling, then cool and place the eggs there.

All the main nuances are presented in this wonderful hand-drawn instruction, which I have long ago stored in my hamster bins. Very useful thing during Easter

They completely forgot about onion skins! But she is the most classic dye. It couldn't be more classic. For it, take onion peels in the desired volume (for the brightest shade, they recommend peeling from four onions per glass of water). Boil the water for about half an hour, and then lower the eggs into it for a few minutes.

Advice: for a beautiful floral-herbal pattern, place the eggs in nylon “bags” with blades of grass, flowers, etc. inside. The result will be an interesting drawing.

It is not necessary to make exactly plant-like traces. You can wrap the eggs with threads and glue paper patterns.

Food colorings

In general, when purchasing any food coloring, it should contain instructions that allow you to correctly carry out the coloring procedure. If this suddenly does not happen, then:

  1. Add vinegar to the water and bring to a boil. Leave for half an hour.
  2. Then the eggs can be boiled in this solution (not for long) or lowered into the already cooled solution.

However, there are some tricks that will allow you to stand out from others. For example, if you stick round stickers in the form of a “polka dot” pattern before painting, you will end up with an unusual and very stylish egg.

Or maybe you want a richness of colors? Then feel free to take gold leaf (it’s not that expensive, by the way, if you know right places;)). Paint first and then wrap the egg in a piece of gold foil and brush lightly with a brush. This creates an interesting marble effect.

Wondering where you can buy gold leaf inexpensively? There you are link to the comprehensive Aliexpress (verified seller and one of the best offers). Here you can buy a lot of precious leaves for a small amount).

Advice. If you want to achieve something beautiful marble effect, then you can do this: paint the egg in light color and then plunge into water with dark color, in which vegetable oil will be present (in small drops, about two teaspoons per 500 milliliters).

Minions

A favorite of children and adults alike, they are very easy to construct using yellow and blue dyes, as well as many small toy eyes and a felt-tip pen. To do this, the egg needs to be dipped only halfway in the dye and dried. Glue eyes on the yellow part and draw funny faces. The child is happy

Drawing with a permanent marker

One of the most quick ideas. All that is needed - permanent marker(one or more) and your imagination. Specks, lines, numbers, mysterious patterns - you will get minimalistic, but very stylish eggs. True, I think it’s not worth leaving these for a long time so that they can be eaten. Still a marker...

Metallic markers are also on sale now - a suitable accessory for Easter. The design is more delicate than when using regular colors.

Simplicity and cuteness

You will never be white chicken eggs didn't you resemble a funny Hello Kitty? Try making one like in the photo. Little girls will be especially happy - they will love the cute design. For additional decoration, use small flowers, bows, buttons and whatever else you have on hand.

We use paints

What would we do without them? You can use watercolor or acrylic paints. In the second case, you don’t have to worry about moisture getting on the surface - acrylic dyes are not afraid of this. They do not have a strong odor and do not penetrate deeply.

Don't want to bother with time-consuming painting? Then take the bubble wrap and paint it properly. All you have to do is roll the egg on the surface of the film and you will get a speckled egg

Let's move on to less traditional ways coloring.

Using fabric

For me, these methods became a kind of discovery. For example, there is an option for where to put old ties. To do this, however, they must be made of real silk.

The method is as follows: take a tie, wrap it tightly with fabric and thread on top (you can use cotton fabric). Take a little more vinegar than before (about three spoons). Boil the eggs for 10 minutes after boiling, cool and very carefully separate the fabric. An incredible beauty comes out

Here is an option with a silk scarf and fabric. In general, do not throw away silk scraps - they can come in handy in the most unexpected situations.

On the theme of fabric and bow decoration: take the lace and wrap it tightly around the eggs. The recipe remains the same, but the patterns turn out great!

Thread decor

You can wrap your creations with threads not only to form beautiful patterns, but also use them as a complete decorative element. To do this, take PVA and coat the surface as you move the thread, which you lay out in a spiral.

Groats in progress

Why does an egg need to be painted? After all, you can simply cover it with grains! Take anything - rice, peas, buckwheat, sesame seeds and much more. You can completely roll the product in one type of grain, or you can sprinkle it in strips, as in the photo.

Confectionery topping

Again, you need to properly coat the surface with glue (you can use PVA) and sprinkle sprinkles on top of it. Balls, stars, and just long strips of sweet material will come in handy.

Dragon eggs

Yes, not the best easter idea, but it also has a place to be. For these you will need round sequins and glue. You can go the other way - take an artificial foam egg and a lot of buttons. All that remains is to stick them in circles to get the effect of scales.

I recommend using options with rhinestones, “scales” and so on either for empty shells or for artificial fake eggs, since it will be a shame to scrape off all these decorations later.

Advice. How to blow an egg out of its shell? There are two ways:

  1. Pierce the egg with an awl on both sides. Take a saucer and simply blow out the contents of the egg. Blow carefully so as not to damage the shell.
  2. Pierce the egg on one side. Take the syringe and use it to extract the contents.

Pieces of glass and rhinestones

To decorate eggs, both artificial and natural, square pieces of glass or rhinestones will help you. Looks very impressive and festive

Compromise option

A great idea for those who don’t want to spend a lot of time fiddling around, but still want to decorate. And not artificial eggs, but the most natural ones. For each instance you will need several small rhinestones, which you can glue in any order. PVA is useful for gluing.

Quilling

It seems to me that this method would be suitable for an ordinary Easter egg, but it would be a shame to spoil it. Or you can take an artificial form, as in the master class.

And now, perhaps, the most exotic method of all - painting... with nail polish.

Painting eggshells with nail polish

My friends, just the shell without the contents if you don’t want to get poisoned. I decided to experiment on eggs with their contents and realized that even after lying there for a short time, they become so saturated with the smell of varnish that they are edible. best case scenario only the yolk remains.

However, if you just want to beautiful shell or surface, then take note. Incredibly simple way.

Prepare nail polish (preferably several colors), a container of water (not used for cooking) and the shell itself. Pour the varnish over the surface of the water, drawing the patterns that you want to see later. Take only fresh, undiluted varnishes that have not expired, otherwise the result will not be thin. beautiful layer, but thick lines and cakes.

The coverage area should be approximately equal to the surface area of the egg to again get a beautiful effect.

Carefully lower the egg into the pan, submerging it completely in water. It will immediately become covered with an interesting pattern.

This is what I “drew” for the second egg. First I dripped pink varnish, and then green. As a result, green “dispersed” pink.

I took the eggs not white, but brown, so the result was not very bright.

At the same time I painted a plastic honey jar. I didn’t take into account some of the features, so here and there there were patches of varnish left:_D In general, this method of painting is suitable not only for shells - here you can also use small decorative jars and dip your nails (although you will have to scrub your fingers later, but the result is worth it :) )

But this is what others get by divorcing large quantity varnishes and using as a basis White color eggs. As soon as people don't fantasize!

other methods

Suddenly I remembered that I had not told about all the options I knew. What else can you use to color eggs for Easter:

  1. Zelenka. It’s best to use it this way: wrap the eggs in gauze, into which you put grains of rice, leaves, pieces of paper, etc. Tie tightly. Now place them in a saucepan with cold water and cook until boiling, then a few more minutes.
  2. Paper decorations. These are all kinds of bunny ears, eyes, and handmade coasters. The decorating options here are almost limitless.
  3. Glitter. Coat the surface with PVA glue or paste, and then sprinkle it liberally with glitter, shaking off excess.
  4. Iron-on adhesives. Before Easter they are sold in almost all stores. All you need to do is pull a sticker onto an already boiled egg and quickly lower it into boiling water. I must say, it doesn’t always work out well—you have to experiment with stickers from different manufacturers.
  5. Pencils + watercolor. Use a pencil to draw an image on the surface. Dilute the watercolor in water (the thicker the better) and drop the product into it. Didn't like the effect? Wash off the paint and try again.

Finally prepared for you interesting video with a very simple method of decoration, in which it is very easy to get the effect of “cosmic” coloring:

Well, what do you think of the painting methods? But I'm sure I forgot something. Maybe you can tell me in the comments? I will be very grateful, as well as other readers who look at the blog. In the future, I will definitely share with you my painting results, don’t miss it

Don't forget to subscribe to updates so you don't miss new interesting articles! And I say goodbye to you.

Sincerely, Anastasia Skoracheva

Good afternoon, dear friends, the bright holiday of Easter will come very soon. And you will need to decorate the table with Easter cakes and eggs. If we have sorted out the Easter cakes a bit, we haven’t figured out the eggs yet. A note on how.
And so now let's talk about ways to paint eggs. Eggs have been painted, painted and decorated for Easter for a very long time, but the real dawn and flight of thought can only be realized today when a lot of different food dyes have appeared.

In this post we will look at several the right ways How to beautifully paint eggs for Easter. And of course you need to prepare in advance as you need to collect all the ingredients. For example, there is not always a box with onions in the apartment and collect onion peels in the right amount not so easy. In general, we will analyze everything in detail further.

Once, while looking through my wall on VK, I came across this post about painting eggs with natural dyes. All dyes are natural without added chemicals. And the colors will pleasantly surprise you.
About the use of natural or natural dyes I’ll tell you a little more, but a little later, but for now let’s look at a small reminder about determining the freshness of eggs.
Well, we checked the eggs for freshness and left the results in the comments. And we move on to food coloring. Which are sold before Easter at every turn.
These are the four packages you will find inside the main package.
Small bags can contain either tablets or a ready-made liquid. It is, of course, better to wear gloves when working with these paints. No, not because the paint is harmful, but so as not to get dirty.

We select the first few beauties from the boiled eggs and dilute the paint according to the instructions. One can for each paint.
Most of the instructions are similar to those on my bags, the instructions stated that boiled eggs need to be washed well in soda solution(for half a liter of water 1 tablespoon baking soda). Dilute paints only in warm water. For 1 paint, half a glass of water is enough, but you will also need to pour in a tablespoon of 9% vinegar. Prepare the dye and dip the egg in it for 5-6 minutes. Carefully remove the field with a spoon and place on a plate to dry.

Just like you, I am a real creative person and it occurred to me to mix paints to get a new color. For example, if you mix blue and yellow you get a turquoise color. Try it, maybe you will succeed. Or maybe you want to mix other colors. Write in the comments below the article what happened for you.
After the paint dries, it will no longer get dirty so much. And you can try decorating the eggs with beautiful stickers. Thank God they are also not a problem to buy.

And if you want to make an egg not of one color, but of several. Try to dip the egg not completely into the paint, but only a small part of it.

You can use wax to color eggs halfway. We rub wax on the part of the egg that we will not paint. We dip it in paint and the shell does not change color under the wax. This will make it easier for you to make colorful eggs.

If you have children in your family, be sure to invite them to help with coloring the eggs. But don’t leave them to their own devices, after all, this is the kitchen.
And this is how you can paint eggs using a regular whisk.
Try putting (boiled) eggs in a colander, dropping a few dyes into the water and stirring with a spatula. The output is all intricate colors.
Can also be wrapped boiled egg into a regular paper napkin and drip paint on several sides. Then leave the egg in a napkin for 5-10 minutes so that the paint is properly embedded in the shell.
This is what beauty can turn out. Almost a marble egg without much effort.
You can decorate an egg for Easter without dyes. It is enough to take a special thermal film, put it on a (boiled) egg and lower it for 5-7 seconds. into boiling water from high temperature the film narrows and takes the shape of an egg.
As you can see, there is no particular difficulty here. Everything is easy and simple and you don’t need to get your hands dirty and you don’t need to dilute the paint with boiling water and that’s it.

Painting eggs in onion skins

This is the oldest and most popular traditional method or method of dyeing eggs. Our grandmothers painted peas like this even under the Tsar.
The colors come out natural and there are no chemicals. Despite the large abundance of dyes, everyone in every family dyed and will dye eggs in onions every year, as this is part of a tradition that no one wants to give up. But there is one drawback to painting eggs in onions, you will need to separate the pan as the dishes can also become stained.
For good rich color take 3-4 parts of husk to one part of water. Just painting eggs with onions is not our thing. You need to do this with creativity. So read on.

To creatively color eggs, take the following:

  • 1 tablespoon salt.
    Nylon stocking.
Green leaves (dill, parsley, dandelion, cilantro, etc.)
    A skein of thread.
    Vegetable oil.

Painting process.

We take raw eggs as they need to be boiled in their shells for at least 40 minutes.
We attach a leaf to the egg. Cut a piece from the stocking and carefully place the egg in the stocking. We press the leaf to the egg and wrap the stocking with threads. It should look something like this.

Fill the husk with water and place it on the stove.
Add salt and when the water begins to boil, lower the workpiece into the husk.
Cook for 30-40 minutes. Then we take it out and if there is a second batch, cook the second one, and let the first one cool.
As soon as the eggs have cooled a little, remove the stockings, remove the leaves and rub the eggs with vegetable oil. After which the testicles will acquire a beautiful shine.
You can also color eggs using food coloring using this method.

How to paint eggs so they look like marble

If you want to surprise old housewives or girlfriends with your painted eggs, then take a longer look. So, it’s very rare that anyone paints eggs; they do everything according to the classics and no one wants to bother further, but there’s practically no hassle here.
Required.

  • Eggs.
  • Onion peel.
  • Zelenka.
  • Water.
  • Pot.

Painting process.

The method is similar to the classic one, but with minor additions.

Take a raw egg, dip it in water and roll it over the onion peel so that it sticks to the egg. Then wrap it in a stocking or bandage. Pour plain water into a saucepan, add a spoonful of salt and place on the stove. As soon as the water starts to boil, lower the eggs, pour in the brilliant greens and cook the eggs for 30-40 minutes. After draining the water, let it cool and remove everything unnecessary.
This is what happened for me, and the same should happen for you.
The drawing turns out to be simply unusual. And the most interesting thing is that no two eggs are the same, they are all different.

We dye eggs with natural products

Well, now let's turn to natural dyes. Which are found in food products.

It is important when using such paints to be sure to add a little vinegar. It will fix the paints and make the colors more saturated.

1. Color eggs using turmeric. She will give you yellow color. We will discuss how to color eggs with turmeric below.
2. If you want to paint eggs bright orange, then carrots will help you. Let's take it carrot juice and drop the egg into it. The color saturation will depend on the time the egg has been in the carrot juice.
3. Never dyed eggs beet juice? I recommend trying it. True, the process is too long. You need to keep the boiled egg in beet juice for at least 8-10 hours. But only you will have raspberry eggs.

4. One more long way coloring in red cabbage. We also squeeze out the juice and soak the boiled eggs in it for 8-10 hours.

5. Even tea and coffee will help us color the eggs. Brew the tea stronger and keep the egg in the brew for 2-3 hours. Then take out and get the eggs tea color. By the way, you can dye not only in black tea.

You can make a beautiful green color; for this, take a bunch of spinach, cut it, put it in a pan with water. Place on the stove and cook the eggs in it until the desired color is obtained.
This is what you can achieve with patience. As an author, I will boast about my achievements.

Emerald eggs for Easter

Consider this option for coloring eggs. The video shows all the steps; it is possible that this particular method will be more understandable to you.

How to dye eggs without dyes using turmeric

It’s not for nothing that this painting method is gaining popularity. After all, the result is so good that you can’t even believe that it’s all a natural color.
Stir 1 tablespoon of turmeric into 250 ml of warm water, let the turmeric dissolve for 2-3 minutes and put on fire. Add eggs and cook for 30-40 minutes.
You can also use the method with stockings or husks before throwing in the eggs.

Dyed eggs in fabric

Let's continue to create and wonder, now we'll try to paint eggs using a tie. No, of course, we won’t completely spoil our husband’s favorite tie, we’ll just take it and cut off a small piece.))) For this method, any colorful silk fabric will do, you can also take colorful cotton.

We take a beautiful piece of fabric, wrap an egg in it and wrap it with thread. Next, put it in a saucepan with water and cook for 15-20 minutes. Don't forget to add 1 tablespoon of vinegar per 1 liter of water. The result surprised even me.

Instead of fabric, you can take any material with a mesh and wrap the egg in it. We cook such eggs in any dye and get unusual results.

Coloring eggs for Easter in a napkin

The technology is quite young and little known. To me, this looks more like a hand-made, full-fledged craft for the holiday, rather than jelly for painting an egg.

You will need the following set:

Eggs.
Napkins.
PVA glue
Brush.
Scissors.

Production process.

A pattern is cut out from a colorful napkin. The napkin is disassembled into layers.

Apply a layer of glue to the egg with a brush. Then the cut out design is carefully applied.
Coat the top of the drawing with a thin layer of glue. You can apply several designs on one egg. Afterwards you need to let the glue dry.
It turns out very beautiful. I remind you that we paint already boiled eggs.

We dye eggs using improvised materials at home

As you know, Easter cakes are decorated with icing and beautiful sprinkles, and why not decorate eggs with this sprinkle.
This is not a tricky thing, and the results will wonderfully surprise you. In order to glue the sprinkles onto the egg, you don’t even need special glue; the same eggs will help us.

Take the white, dip a boiled egg into it, grease it well on all sides, then roll it in the powder.
You can also use office glue, but there is no point in eating it since the glue will easily penetrate to the edible part of the egg through the pores in the shell. Of course, when using this technique, you can decorate eggs not only with powder, but also different cereals.
For example, look at how funny an egg you get if you use cereal.

Well, since we are headed in this direction, you can also decorate eggs using nail polish. You really need to wear gloves to avoid getting your hands dirty. Take a glass of water and pour some nail polish different color draw a small pattern and dip the egg into it. But I remind you once again that it is not recommended to eat such eggs.

Try coloring eggs with markers. Water-based markers are very suitable for these purposes. And if you show a little imagination and draw eyes on the eggs, you can create a whole army.

If you are interested in the idea of eyes, look for them on store shelves.
You can buy ready-made eyes and use them to create minions like these. Look how cute they are, right?

So now I’m thinking about painting the eggs Easter holidays you are completely ready. Congratulations on the upcoming Bright Sunday of Christ. Christ is Risen!!!

Salt - 1 tbsp
Raw eggs.

Follow the tips and instructions and you will succeed. Happy Easter to you, friends! Christ is risen!

Hello! If you have landed on this page, it means you have asked yourself the question. And I can assure you that you have come to the right place. Today I will try to fully understand all the questions that may arise on this topic.

Most recently we looked at . And more than one article was devoted to them. If you missed those issues, I highly recommend you check them out. Perhaps you will find exactly the recipe you have been looking for for so long.

In the near future, I plan to write more than one article on Easter themes, but today we are painting eggs in different ways at home.

Types of painting and painting Easter eggs

How many there are, after all? variety of options painting eggs for the Easter holiday. And one type is better than the other. But not everyone knows the correct name and how this or that type of painting is done. Therefore, I suggest that you first understand this issue a little in order to have an idea of what we will be doing, and then continue to analyze the main topic.

So, there are 6 main types of painting and painting Easter eggs:

  • paints- These are eggs painted in one color without drawings or patterns. Mostly they paint it this way for holidays. This is the simplest and most quick way get colored eggs of a wide variety of colors.

You can use both natural and food coloring. If you approach this matter with all seriousness, you can get very bright and saturated colors;

  • Easter eggs- perhaps the most complex and painstaking type of painting. To obtain beautiful Easter eggs you need perseverance and patience. They are made as follows: patterns are applied to the egg with hot wax using a metal rod (feather). It is then dipped into the dye and allowed to sit as it is dyed. You need to start with the lightest color.

After this, the patterns are applied again with wax and the egg is again dipped in a different dye, and so on with the rest of the colors. After all the patterns are made, you need to get rid of the wax by melting it off the surface of the egg with a candle.

The wax needs to be wiped off periodically with a cloth as it melts. I think the point is clear. And it is also clear that this is a very painstaking and lengthy work, which will rightfully be appreciated;

  • rags or scraps- very interesting and unusual look painting, which also requires a lot of time and effort. Rags are made using a sharp metal object (scissors, awl, knife, etc.). Patterns are applied to a painted and dried egg with a pencil and then this same pattern is scratched along this contour.

It is worth noting that for shell eggs it is best to take brown eggs, since their shells are harder and, therefore, there is a greater likelihood that the shell will not crack when pressure is applied to it with a point.

Also, in this case, natural dyes are better than food dyes, because the latter are very smeared during work;

  • specks- this type of painting implies that specks, stripes and all sorts of specks of different colors are applied to the egg. They are made using wax. That is, various drops of hot wax are applied to an egg painted in one tone, and then this same egg is painted in a different color. Subsequently, the wax is melted in the same way as in the case of Easter eggs;

  • little onessuitable option for painting with children. You can use your imagination and give the boiled egg a very festive look, simply applying any pictures and patterns to it using paint. It turns out very cool;

  • eggs- this type of Easter egg decoration has been known for a very long time. They are made from carved stone, wood, and porcelain. Not long ago it became fashionable to decorate eggs with threads, beads, lace, etc. Likewise, everyone famous eggs Faberge, too, are nothing more than “eggs”.

And of course, thermal stickers, which appeared not very long ago, can also be classified as one of the types of this wonderful art. I just can’t say which of the above. Or maybe this is a separate direction of “painting”, the name of which I don’t know? In any case, it turns out very beautiful.

Well, we have dealt with the question that everyone who is planning to paint and paint eggs for Easter should know. Now, let’s move on to a detailed consideration of how and with what you can decorate one of the main attributes of this wonderful holiday.

5 ways to beautifully paint eggs in onion skins:

The most common and, at the same time, oldest dye is onion peel. And if earlier people used it as a dye using one method, then nowadays there are many different ways to obtain unusually beautiful and unique dyes.

In my opinion, we have selected for you only the brightest and most sophisticated methods, using which you will get very beautiful Easter eggs that will decorate any holiday table with their presence.

Classic ways to color eggs with onion skins

And to open our selection there will be a standard, one might even say classic, option - a single-color, even color of Easter eggs.

Only it can also be divided by 2 different ways- hot and cold. In fact, in both the first and second cases the same ingredients are needed. The only difference is that the sequence of actions is different. And you will decide for yourself how to do it better and more conveniently. Now let's look at both methods.

We will need:

  • onion peel

How to make hot dyes:

1. Wash raw eggs thoroughly with soapy water, preferably with a brush.

2. Place onion peels from ten onions in a saucepan, add 1 liter of water and put on fire. After the water boils, boil it until the water turns dark brown, 40-45 minutes.

3. After this, remove the husks (you don’t need to remove them) and add the eggs to the resulting dye.

4. Cook for 10-15 minutes. To make the color more saturated, you can boil it longer.

5. Take out the colored, boiled eggs, dry them and rub them with a cotton swab moistened with vegetable oil.

We dye eggs with husks in a cold way:

1. Having prepared a decoction of onion peels, cool it, first straining it to get rid of the peels.

2. Meanwhile, boil the eggs until cooked.

3. Place the cooled finished eggs into the cooled dye for several hours, depending on what shade you want to achieve.

In any case, the color will turn out less saturated using the cold method, but it’s still worth doing for variety.

In my opinion hot way much simpler and more convenient. Although the cold version also has its advantages - the color of the testicles becomes more delicate and uniform. This is probably due to the fact that the dye gradually settles on the surface of the shell.

In any case, it is up to you to decide which method to use.

We make dyes with onion peels with a pattern:

To get some kind of drawing, we just need to make some changes to classic version which is described above.

1. Before painting, you need to put stencils on the egg - beautiful leaves of parsley or dill, or any other greenery. For example, it turns out very beautifully with small grape leaves. You can also use figures cut out of waterproof material or something like that.

2. Then we wrap the egg in a nylon or nylon stocking and tie the ends tightly with thread.

3. We paint in the usual way. By the way, this method is also suitable not only for onion peels, but also for other types of coloring.

The end result is very beautiful prints, in the form of the stencils you used.

Bright marbled color with greenery

Every year we dye eggs using this method. And it turns out very beautiful. The testicles acquire a pattern very similar to marble. Conventionally, this method can be divided into 2 options - with and without brilliant green. Let's look at both.

Option 1:

1. To get a beautiful marbled color, we need to chop the onion skins using scissors.

2. Then take well washed raw eggs, wet them with water and roll them in this “shavings” of husk.

3. Wrap the egg tightly in gauze or old nylon tights and tie the ends tightly with thread.

The tighter the gauze adheres to the egg, the more distinct the pattern will be.

4. Place the eggs in a saucepan with water and put on fire.

5. After the water boils, cook the eggs for 20-25 minutes.

6. Remove and cool. After this, you can remove the gauze. Wipe the egg with a paper towel and rub with vegetable oil until shiny.

Option 2:

This method is practically no different from the previous one, except that after boiling the water you need to add 1 bottle of brilliant green to the pan.

Advice! Before using this method, I advise you to make gas stove foil. Because during boiling, splashes are formed one way or another, which stain everything they come into contact with. I think that you don’t want to see your tiles covered in green specks, which are very difficult to clean. The first time I did it exactly like this, and if only you knew that I didn’t have to hear anything addressed to me from my mother)))

All other actions remain unchanged.

The results are marble eggs with green inserts, which makes them even more elegant.

Use an old pan for painting in both ways, because it will be almost impossible to wash it after use. For example, we got one separate one, specifically for painting, and have been using it for more than one year.

Natural dyes for Easter eggs

Now I suggest you consider options for coloring eggs for Easter with natural dyes. Although there is a little more fuss with them than with food ones, the result is almost the same, and sometimes even better.

The biggest advantage of natural dyes is that they are completely harmless to the body. And we can be completely sure that colored eggs in such ways will not cause any harm. Let's figure out how and what else you can decorate Easter eggs for the upcoming holiday.

The first method is somewhat reminiscent of dragon eggs. At least judging by the films in which they are shown. But I don’t even know what to compare the second method with. Maybe you have any ideas on this matter? Let's look at both.
