Prepare all the products on the list and get started. Remove the puff pastry from the refrigerator in advance and allow time for the pastry to completely thaw. This is necessary to ensure that the boat is spacious and beautiful. We leave several cucumbers untouched for decoration, and cut the rest exactly in half along the entire length. Next, use a spoon to scrape out the cucumber pulp from each half. We leave the pulp, we will need it later. In order for the boats to be stable, you need to cut off the bottom a little from each cucumber slice without damaging its integrity.

The recipe is based on two different salads, so you need to prepare them in two bowls. Place the eggs in a saucepan, add water, add a pinch of salt and place over medium heat. From the moment the water boils, time it for 7 minutes, after which the eggs need to be placed under cold water and kept in this state for several minutes. Next, remove the shell from the eggs. The squid fillet needs to be thawed and the skin removed.

This can be done in the following way: with a fingernail or a sharp kitchen utensil, you need to pry the skin and carefully remove it, pulling it away from the pulp. It will come off like a stocking. Next, the fillet must be thoroughly washed. Add the squid meat to a pan of boiling salted water and cook over medium heat for 3 minutes. Then we take it out into a plate and cool it.

In one bowl add finely chopped squid meat, chopped 4 eggs, and finely chopped onion. We also add chopped slices of canned pineapple to the bowl with the squid. All ingredients are sprinkled with lemon juice and mixed thoroughly.

The squid salad is dressed with light mayonnaise. The second dressing we recommend for the cucumber fleet is with crab sticks. They need to be thawed and finely chopped. Pour them into a second bowl. There we also add chopped 2 eggs, canned corn and chopped cucumber pulp, which we had left over after preparing the boats. The crab salad is slightly salted and peppered, seasoned with mayonnaise and thoroughly mixed until smooth.

Cucumber molds are filled with our fillings using a small spoon and placed on a wide dish. You can place the flotilla randomly (meaning different fillings) or in a certain order, for example, in the middle with crab filling, and on the edges with squid salad.

Next comes the most important stage of preparing the cucumber flotilla, which is what gives the composition maximum realism. Cucumbers need to be cut into very thin longitudinal slices. And the peeled and washed bell peppers need to be cut into small triangles that will serve as flags. You need to thread a cucumber slice on both sides onto a toothpick or a short skewer so that you end up with something like a sail. We string a triangle of red pepper onto the free edge, and with the other edge we secure a toothpick in the salad fillings. The cucumber flotilla is ready, you can serve the appetizer on the table. Recipe 10: onion-meat balls for the holiday
