The first time I tried it was with a friend, when I ran to her after work on some urgent matter. I was very hungry, and my friend decided to feed me by whipping up this dish right in front of my eyes. I really liked what happened, and I adopted this recipe for myself. Now I cook it often: because it is satisfying and nutritious, but at the same time simple and quick. Of course, this dish is best eaten immediately while it is hot. But if necessary, you can either eat it cold or heat it in the microwave. So if you need a satisfying snack at work or need to take something with you on the road, then this recipe will certainly help you out. And one moment. Let's start with the main thing - the basis of our dish. As you understand, we are talking about a loaf. Yes, yes, a completely simple, ordinary loaf. If you have a large company, then it will be just enough for everyone. If you are cooking for 2-3 people, then I advise you to take a mini-loaf and proportionally halve all other ingredients. You can buy a loaf, or you can .




We cut the loaf into 2 parts lengthwise, as you see in the photo. It turns out the lower part and the top. We will need the lower part.




Using a knife, carefully remove the crumb from the bottom. It turns out we have a kind of boat. In which we will place the filling. We will no longer use the crumb itself, which we took out, as well as the top of the loaf for this recipe. You can set them aside and add them, for example, to minced cutlets.




Well, now let's get straight to the filling. Actually, it can be anything you like. You can make it from mushrooms, or from vegetables. But this time I wanted something filling, so I took ham and chicken. Cut the ham into small cubes.

We also cut the tomato into cubes. If you have a juicy tomato, that’s good: it means the filling will be juicy. The most important. so that the tomato is tasty and ripe.

In a separate container we put the chicken fillet, ham, tomato and about 2/3 of the total amount of grated cheese. Mix.






Grease the baking dish with a small amount of vegetable oil. Place the filling into the loaf and place it in the mold. As you remember, we still have some grated cheese left. We sprinkle it on top of the stuffed loaf.




And we send the form with the loaf to the oven, preheated to 200 degrees. We have all the ingredients ready. Therefore, we just need to wait until the cheese melts. To do this, cut out the same distance in a circle with a sharp knife, about 1.5 centimeters from the edge, remove the crumb with your hands and place it in a bowl. We cut it out again... and so we take out the crumb along the entire length. Try not to cut through the crust of the loaf, but if you do, it's okay.

So, we cut off the head of the herring, it is better to do it with an oblique cut, this way all the pulp is removed from it. Then we cut the lower belly, remove the entrails and dark film, remove the skin, starting from the head, and remove the fin. Now we divide the herring into two halves with our hands, carefully separating the fillet from the ridge with the rib bones. All that remains is to clean the fillet from small bones. It is convenient to do this with special tweezers, or simply carefully remove all the seeds with your fingers.
Cut the herring fillet into thin strips, and then into small pieces and add to the total mass.

Mix everything well and taste it; you can add a little salt to the filling, taking into account the degree of salinity of the herring.

Our filling is ready, it turned out very tasty and has the right consistency, not dry, so there is no need to add mayonnaise here to prevent the loaf from getting soft. Now we stuff the halves of the loaf with the prepared filling, compacting it well with a spoon. Before serving, take our stuffed loaf with herring out of the refrigerator and cut it with a sharp knife into slices approximately 1.5 centimeters thick.
