In the old days, aromatic mulled wine was associated with American or Scandinavian Christmas. Over time, he began to conquer our country and soon became popular. Having a good recipe at your disposal, you can cook it at home.

  • Spices are an essential component. Allspice, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves are usually used. Some cooks add fruits, natural juices, and honey.
  • Good wine required. Dry is ideal. Sweet varieties spoil the taste, so they are not used.
  • The ingredients require preliminary preparation. The fruits are doused with water, and the citrus fruits are rubbed with a brush to remove the waxy coating. It is not recommended to chop finely, otherwise there will be problems with filtering. Small fruits are usually placed whole, large ones are chopped into medium cubes, and citrus fruits are divided into slices or cut into circles.
  • Whole spices are used. It is problematic to strain with ground ones; they have a bad effect on transparency and stick to the teeth like sand. Take sticks, buds and peas. Spices should enhance the taste of the wine, not overwhelm it.
  • Metal utensils are not suitable for cooking mulled wine. Use ceramic, glass, enamel or silver containers. True, not everyone has silverware and rarely uses it, because you don’t want to clean the silver again.
  • Regardless of the recipe, you should not bring the wine to a boil, otherwise the alcohol will quickly evaporate. The result is a spoiled taste of mulled wine. Ideally, heat the wine to 80 degrees. A signal about the need to remove from the fire is white foam on the surface.
  • Sugar or honey is often used. To ensure that the ingredients are completely dissolved, stir occasionally. Before tasting, strain and then pour into glass glasses. Drink exclusively hot.
  • There should be no more than two cups of mulled wine per person. This amount is enough to warm up, invigorate and recharge with energy, but not enough to
