What nut was the first picnic with? About the Picnic brand

About the Picnic brand

The Picnic chocolate bar has been produced since 1958 by the British company Cadbury. The product is popular in the former colonies of Great Britain: Australia, New Zealand and India, as well as in Russia and Ukraine.

One of Picnic's English slogans emphasized its "seriousness" and "solidity", and sounded like "More like a banquet than a picnic."

The filling of the Picnic bar contains caramel, nougat, sponge cake and puffed rice. Picnic is covered with milk chocolate on top. Variants with nuts and raisins are available in Australia and New Zealand.

In the mid-2000s, the Picnic brand was restyled. This was dictated both by general consumer fatigue with the brand and by the need to make it more attractive to young people.

As a result, after restyling, Picnic sales increased by 77%. This was largely facilitated by the appearance of the enlarged Picnic – King Size.

Ilya (October 29, 2013)

The bad bar became without raisins. Bring back the raisins!

Ira

I want it with raisins
Why did the raisins disappear from the picnic chocolate bar? Make the ingredients as before, because the taste was simply wonderful. I want it with raisins.

Irina

Where are the raisins?
I used to enjoy the taste of picnic with RAISINS. And now comparing that picnic and this one, they are simply different. I would like to eat that picnic even if I go to Australia or New Zealand.

Elsa

I'm trudged!
I love the taste of Picnic and the packaging of this bar. I can't resist buying it, and now there's also size XXXL :)

Why did you disappear with raisins?((

Dmitriy

where are the raisins?
I used to really like Picnic - the chocolate was chocolateier, there were always raisins and between the waffles there was a layer of fudge like chocolate. And without raisins and rich cocoa chocolate, “Picnic” is no longer the same (((Maybe they don’t report the ingredients in Russian factories?

Anyutka

batch
What surprises me, but at the same time I like it, is the mixing of different ingredients in the “Picnic”. It is too sweet and hard, but at the same time the crunch and aftertaste are simply amazing.

Picnic began traveling around the world in 1958 in one of the cities of Great Britain. Over the course of several years, he managed to visit many countries of the world - from Ireland to India and from New Zealand to Canada, where he was joyfully greeted and loved. One of the English slogans Picnic emphasized its “seriousness” and “solidity”, and sounded like “More like a banquet than a picnic.”

In Russia Picnic first appeared in 1993, and in 1996 it finally settled in a wonderful factory in the city of Chudovo. Everyone remembers the funny character in the video Picnic- a singing camel that delighted millions of television viewers for 10 years.

Picnic is an inexhaustible source of positivity thanks to the incredible combination of waffles, caramel, nuts, puffed rice and chocolate.

It was out of love for incredible combinations that was created Picnic Walnut. This bar is especially loved due to its high content of natural walnuts. It has been on the market for more than 14 years and still leaves no one indifferent!

In the mid-2000s, the brand Picnic has been restyled. This was dictated both by general consumer fatigue with the brand and by the need to make it more attractive to young people.

As a result, after restyling, sales Picnic increased by 77%. This was largely facilitated by the appearance of increased Picnic – King Size.

And in 2009, BIG Picnic was born - it’s a classic Picnic with peanuts in a new extra large size.

Today there are 4 different bars Picnic: Picnic Peanut 40g, Picnic Peanut 60g, Picnic Peanut 80g and Picnic Walnut 55g.

The Picnic bar is a delicious delicacy from childhood. Both girls and boys dreamed of trying a crispy chocolate bar with caramel nougat, nuts and waffles. Now this is only a small part of the assortment of sweets in every grocery store. But this bar is still in wide demand. So why?

Manufacturer

The manufacturer of the delicacy is Cadbury (the company is part of Mondelez International). Manufacturer in the Russian Federation: Dirol Cadbury LLC (address - Veliky Novgorod).

From the very beginning, these products entered the UK markets in 1958, where they began to enjoy overwhelming demand. Describing the product being sold, the company came up with a solid slogan - “More like a banquet than a picnic.” Later, in our country, the slogan “Picnic” was created - a chocolate bar. Give in to temptation!

By 2000, the consumer was tired of the same chocolate bar and the manufacturer realized this. Sales fell, but another trend was created. "King Size" again won its customers, and sales increased by 77%.

The chocolate with a relatively low price (38 g for 37 rubles) is still selling off store shelves, although many buyers have long forgotten the advertising slogans of the selling campaign and take this sweet solely for its delicious taste.

It should also be noted that different versions of chocolate bars have different weights. It ranges from 38 to 80 g.

Compound

The famous Picnic bar consists of:

  • nut filling - peanuts or walnuts;
  • soft caramel;
  • raisin paste (or whole dried fruits);
  • waffles;
  • puffed rice.

That's the whole lineup. The Picnic bar is covered with milk chocolate glaze.

In our country there are no options for sale with raisins and walnuts; such sweets are only available on the market in Australia and New Zealand.

There is another Picnic bar. The manufacturer has provided options with apple and candied lemon.

Now on the Russian market there are chocolates filled with peanuts or walnuts. Relatively recently, a new one appeared - “Exotic” with pieces of fruit in white chocolate glaze.

Homemade recipe

It's hard to believe, but this chocolate bar can be created at home.

What ingredients will you need:

  • puffed rice waffle;
  • 50 g walnuts or peanuts;
  • 50 g sugar;
  • 100 g milk chocolate;
  • 10 g butter.

How to cook:

  1. First, fry the nuts in a dry frying pan, so they need to be peeled. Then chop into fine crumbs and place back in the pan, but with sugar. Heat and stir until mixture caramelizes.
  2. Roll the puffed rice waffle in the caramel-nut mixture. Place on a layer of food foil and let cool thoroughly.
  3. In the meantime, build a water bath to melt the chocolate. Heat it with butter until you get a mass of homogeneous consistency.
  4. Using two forks, carefully dip the cooled bar into all sides. Place back on the foil and put in the refrigerator. When the top layer of glaze hardens, your chocolate is ready to eat!

You can add white chocolate milk nougat to this recipe - melt it separately in a water bath and mix with a small amount of powdered sugar. First, pour this nougat over the nut bar, let it set in the refrigerator, and only then top it with milk chocolate glaze.
