Because the first time I cooked them just like ordinary croutons... actually, not expecting anything supernatural from them, because this is a quick dish. But the result exceeded all my expectations. Therefore, when I have boiled sausage at home, it’s hard for me to resist making this yummy dish!

Hot sandwiches with potatoes and sausage, in addition to these two main ingredients, include eggs and mayonnaise to hold the mass together, and for taste too.

I took regular Peklevanny bread, but you can also use a baguette as in. And not only wheat, but also rye baguette. I especially like him in . Yes, even the most ordinary bread can be cut not just into rectangular slices or halves, but also more interestingly - into triangles, as in. In a word, what exactly the sausage croutons will look like, their appearance is completely at the mercy of your imagination! 😉

Ingredients:

  • bread - 8 slices
  • boiled sausage - 220 g
  • potatoes - 2 large tubers
  • eggs - 2 small
  • mayonnaise - 1 tbsp.
  • fresh dill - 0.5 bunch
  • universal seasoning - 0.5 tsp.
  • salt - a pinch
  • refined oil for frying - 2 tbsp.

Fried sandwiches with potatoes and sausage:

I washed the potatoes well, peeled them and grated them into strips.

I removed the artificial casing from the sausage and grated it on a grater with large holes. Before adding it to the potatoes, I drained the resulting potato juice (how much there will be depends on the variety), because... There is no need for extra liquid here.

I broke the eggs here and put in the mayonnaise. The dill was washed with cool running water, dried and chopped with a knife. I decided to make hot sandwiches with potatoes and sausage with universal seasoning. It contains kariya, paprika, red pepper, dried onions, carrots, parsley, celery. But you can use any spice you like. I added a pinch of salt - in my case this was enough, given the saltiness of the sausage and mayonnaise.

Mixed everything thoroughly with a spoon.

Cut the bread into medium-thick slices. I decided to cut off the top crust. I don't like her at Peklevanny's.

I cut each piece of bread crosswise into 2 parts. I applied the filling over the entire surface. That's it, you can fry croutons with sausage!

Heat the frying pan well. Then she poured in refined sunflower oil and warmed it up. Placed the sandwiches with the filling down. Cover with a lid and fry over medium heat for 5 minutes.

I turned it over to the second side and fried it without a lid for a couple of minutes to nicely brown the bread.

Voila! Sandwiches with potatoes and sausage in a frying pan are ready! And the household has already flocked to the kitchen, so you can start eating right away! ;)

Cooking steps

Cut a fairly thick slice from the loaf. Cut the slice into 2 thin pieces, without cutting to the end, as in the photo (that is, two thin pieces of the loaf will remain connected to each other, you will get a “pocket”). Thus, forming “pockets”, cut the entire loaf.

Cut the sausage into thin half rings.

Cut the cheese into thin slices. Place sausage and cheese into each loaf pocket.

In a deep bowl, combine eggs and milk.

Using a fork, beat the egg-milk mixture.

Dip pieces of loaf with sausage and cheese into the egg-milk mixture on both sides.

Beat in raw chicken eggs and mix vigorously to form a homogeneous dough-filling. Since the cheese and sausage are quite salty, I don’t add additional salt to the filling.




Lubricate the sliced ​​loaf with filling on one side. We do the same with all the pieces of loaf.




Heat the vegetable oil to fry the croutons. After 10-20 seconds, put the croutons on the frying pan with the filling down and do it without thinking. The filling instantly begins to make noise, sizzle and fry. This is how it should be, don't be afraid of it. We wait for the filling below to fry and peep with a fork.






Turn all the croutons over and fry on the second side for just a minute.
