Moscow cafes that serve delicious breakfasts. Moscow cafes that serve delicious breakfasts Unusual breakfasts in restaurants

The editors arrived in Moscow early on Sapsan to try the most remarkable breakfasts. We walked around a lot, ate even more (on some days we managed to have breakfast three times before 12:00) - we wrote a reminder for people like us. Those who are limited in time, do not orient themselves in space and do not have the right to scatter themselves in vain.

We have breakfasts and attractions that it would be a shame and a shame not to try in the capital. From fellow Muscovites - practical advice in the category “where we go ourselves.”

If you missed breakfast, take a look at our guides to the capital's lunches and dinners.

Nikolskaya st., 5/1 building 3
from 8:30 to 12:00

The Laduree brand has existed since 1862, and since then it has been considered the Chanel of the confectionery world. Their bakery at 16 Rue Royale in Paris was decorated by the classic poster artist Jules Cheret. It was “Lyadyure” that gave the world almond macaroons, which are now available to Muscovites for 180 rubles apiece (and 390 if taken in a gift box). If you keep all this in mind, then going into a restaurant with a Laduree sign, and even opposite GUM, becomes timid. For courage, drink a glass of Laduree Prestige champagne for 1,350 rubles - and enjoy breakfast in the stunningly beautiful restaurant. The first hall is “boudoir” with red velvet chairs, stucco molding and heavy curtains, the second is decorated with luxurious panels from the brush of Zuber masters, and the third is an airy, pink vip room. With all the Parisian chic, the prices on the morning menu are quite reasonable: scrambled eggs from 220 rubles, fruit salad for 310, granola with fromage blanc for 450, French pastries from 130. Only omelettes and French toast cost more than 500 - for example, with flavored Chantilly cream roses and fresh raspberries. Jeremy Delaval, who moved from Paris to Moscow, is responsible for the Laduree kitchen.

Mokhovaya st., 15/1, National Hotel
on weekdays from 6:00 to 12:00, on weekends from 6:00 to 13:00

The morning menu of the grand café “Dr. Zhivago” includes, just imagine, 93 dishes: the entire history of Russia is “retold” there, from peasant buckwheat porridge, through royal pancakes with caviar, to party omelettes with doctor’s sausage. Let's give a guide for the first time: the owner of the restaurant Alexander Rappoport is partial to curd babka, the chefs are one hundred percent confident in millet with crayfish necks, Tina Kandelaki goes for eggs Benedict with salmon, Nicole Scherzinger's choice is dumplings with potatoes and black caviar. For excellent Guryev porridge, cheesecakes and eggnog with Borodino croutons and a bowl of red caviar, we paid only 830 rubles. Here is the National Hotel, a view of Red Square and celebrities at the next table. So don’t be afraid of the prices, don’t come without a reservation - it’s a shame not to know Doctor Zhivago.

Kuznetsky Most, 6/3
on weekdays from 8:00 to 11:30, on weekends from 9:00 to 15:00

The view of the Brasserie on Kuznetsky Most is so brilliant, as if you don’t even need to wear jeans here, and you can leave the last of your pants. Starched tablecloths and the waiter's French accent only cement the effect. Everything is much nicer in the check. Yes, there are eggs Benedict with Kamchatka crab for 1950 rubles, pancakes with berries and cream cheese for some reason are priced at 1220, a glass of pomegranate juice costs 950 - but these are all optional pleasures. In general, the menu has plenty of dishes that will not encroach on your psychological comfort - up to 500 rubles. Take porridge with pine cone jam for 400 rubles, fluffy Fontainebleau cottage cheese with seeds for 380, orange pancakes suzette for 350, farm yoghurt for 220. And don’t forget about fresh croissants: the chef with the name Jean-Luc Moll and with a residence permit in Bordeaux is not forgive.

1905 Goda street, 2
on weekends and holidays, from 12:00 to 17:00

Stop Moscow, I'll go - for a weekend breakfast at Kazbek, it's lazy and homely (sorry for the vulgarity), taken out of the rhythm of the city. There are no such beautiful Georgian restaurants in St. Petersburg - it’s like the vintage apartment of a wealthy Tbilisi artist. To which in the summer they added a balcony (that’s what they call the panoramic room on the 3rd floor) with a view of the Moscow River and Stalinist “Ukraine”. It is on the balcony that you make an appointment for an omelette with tomatoes and shashkulavi (the same basil, only from the Georgian garden), pancakes with naduga cheese, layer cake-achme, hangover chikhirtma - everything that the soul of a sleepy mountaineer requires. Chef Mamiya Georgois and his mother Nana are working at the stove and the khachapuri oven. Breakfast at the top of Kazbek will cost 600-700 rubles.

There is no such thing in St. Petersburg

Sadovaya-Kudrinskaya st., 9, building 4
around the clock

In any incomprehensible situation, go to “Kukareka” - this is a unique restaurant where they serve breakfast around the clock, without interruption for sleep or family reasons. The menu includes 28 breakfasts from different parts of the world. The medley is impressive: from the ubiquitous English breakfast and the popular Middle Eastern scrambled eggs shakshuka - to oddities like the Japanese Breakfast with smoked eel and tamago omelette, the Bulgarian with stuffed aubergine or the rissole with egg and pepper jam under the Australian flag. Prices start at 480 rubles, but if you take a dish from a country whose residents are having breakfast right now (8:00-10:00 local time), then you will get a 30% discount. For example, the best time to try a Singaporean breakfast is when the Kremlin clock shows three nights.

Slavyanskaya Square, 2/5
on weekdays from 8:00 to 12:00, on weekends from 10:00 to 15:00

The rules of life for True Cost restaurants are simple: pay 100-700 rubles for entry, depending on the day of the week and time of day (for breakfast: on weekdays 100 rubles, on weekends 500) - you get the opportunity to order dishes at cost. To make you understand the idea even more, the menu has two columns with prices: local price list and average figures for Moscow. So, we get an omelette of three eggs for 38 rubles 58 kopecks (versus the hospital average of 210), cheesecakes for 113 rubles (versus 320), pancakes with maple syrup and blackberry jam for 140 (versus 270), three pancakes here cost 27 rubles, There will also be 11.20 left over for chocolate spread. There are three True Cost restaurants in Moscow, but breakfasts are available only at Kitay-Gorod. In St. Petersburg there is one project of a similar format - Commode, although it is more like a hookah bar, you can’t cook porridge here.

Rochdelskaya st., 15, building 8
from 11:00 to 17:00

The gastrobar at Trekhgornaya Manufactory pretends to be a travel agency: you arrive at the address, barely find a pale sign - you find yourself in a standard-looking travel office and immediately hear “Where do you want to go?” You can mumble a confused “oh” and leave. But it would be more correct to say the code “We are not going anywhere” - then the cabinet with folders will move away and the entrance to the secret room will open. For Muscovites, all this is probably boring. But not for those who came here for the first time. The breakfast menu is divided into sections "Bread", "Eggs" and "Milk". And if everything is clear with the last two (there are omelettes, benedicts, porridge and cheese cakes), then in the bread part, chef Dmitry Shurshakov had some fun. Instead of sandwiches, there will be Mexican tacos (the version with turkey and jalapeño turns out to be very invigorating) and waffles with bacon, honey and persimmons. It’s important not to leave until you’ve tried Alexander Kahn’s cocktails. For example, High Tea Punch is also tea with lemon. And also - with cucumber, elderberry and gin (but that's okay).

Where Muscovites themselves have breakfast

Breakfast is a moment of seeking comfort rather than gastronomic experimentation (at least for me). In the abstract, I like the idea of breakfast outside of my own kitchen incredibly; in concrete terms, if you happen to leave the house without getting up to your ears in coffee and throwing in a portion of cottage cheese and jam, several places can save those around you from me: “Coffeemania”, Pinch and “ Northerners." Perhaps that's all. What do I eat? Cheesecakes are everywhere: classic ones at Coffeemania, made from ricotta at Pinch’e, made from melted cottage cheese at Severyany. In “Pinch” there is also a cool omelette with truffle, and in “Severyany” I once even annoyed chef Georgy Troyan to such an extent that he put cottage cheese on the menu (yes, you understand, I love dairy). Krutan breakfasts should be at Remy Kitchen Bakery - but they just launched and I can't get around to them. But I won’t get there because we just opened Big Wine Freaks on Bolshaya Nikitskaya. Sasha manages to be not only the best restaurant reviewer in the capital, but also an excellent PR director for RAW And we have brunch here every day. There is no cottage cheese with condensed milk yet, but there are eggs Benedict.

“Northerners” do not come in first place, but even run: a pancake from the oven overtakes an omelette with crab to the most beautiful background music in the city. Georgy Troyan, the winner of the “At the Heights” chef competition, which we (“Afisha Restaurants” - editor’s note) created together with Aeroflot, is not just a bonus, but the main award. In second place is Simachev, which everyone usually goes to at 11 at night, and I drop by at 11 in the morning: I have never tried a better benedict on a muffin. Third place is held by Salumeria - buratta with frittata, an Italian preparing coffee with eggnog, and generally a portal to in the middle of nowhere in Italy. In honorable fourth place is Vogue cafe, where my favorite Croque Madame is still there and the whole palette of images of modern and not so modern Moscow. I’ll end the list with “Coffeemania,” but it has no rating, place or rank - it’s in the soul, heart and head forever. The best network for any part of the day for many years.

I recently tried good breakfasts at Posner and Rappoport’s neo-bistro “Geraldine”. I was impressed by the Orsini eggs and the Mother Poulard omelette. I like to order Benedict with crab or salmon at Christian and dumplings with dumplings at . Of the latter, I remember the milk sausages with peas (!) at Tekhnikum, but it’s still worth ordering brioche with ricotta and apricot jam, acai bowl, cheesecakes and avocado toast with cream cheese.

Breakfast in Moscow restaurants is gradually becoming as commonplace as in New York or London. Only if the debate about what is best to start the day - a croissant with coffee, scrambled eggs and ham, or toast with jam and tea - continues unabated, then Muscovites are just beginning to get involved in a new tradition. If you are looking for the best breakfasts in Moscow 2018, this selection is for you. It contains all the places where you can start your morning deliciously. Each restaurant in Moscow offers its own best breakfast options in Moscow. Here you can find both unusual national dishes and interesting formats.

The topic of breakfast is quite banal, but nevertheless we are constantly asked to recommend places in Moscow where you can eat deliciously in the morning. Some people don’t like to cook at home, others don’t feel like eating right away, but on the way to work, hunger begins to interfere with focusing on important issues, and some people have business or friendly meetings early in the morning. Especially for these purposes blogger and restaurant reviewer Ekaterina Maslova I have selected 9 restaurants and cafes for you, where it is cozy and tasty, and breakfast is served before 10 am.
