How to make a three-dimensional figure from dough. Salted play dough - proven recipes

Today in the master class I will show you how to make an unusual gift - a cone with a surprise.

We will need:

  • Penoplex (the thicker the better).
  • Double sided tape.
  • Sandpaper.
  • Brown paint (acrylic or gouache).
  • Glue gun.
  • Corrugated paper in two colors.
  • Toothpicks.
  • Candies (preferably round).

In the first photo the blanks are already there. Below is what I did.

1. Take penoplex (I have 5 cm), cut out three circles and glue them together with double-sided tape. Then we use a knife to give it an oval shape and finish the shaping with sandpaper. The result is something similar to the core of a cone (photo above).

2. Cover our base with acrylic paint or brown gouache and leave to dry.

3. Take corrugated paper, cut it into rectangles (the dark ones are a little larger than the light ones), cut out the petals (shown in photo No. 1). Then we glue our blanks with hot glue to a toothpick, use our fingers to give them a concave shape and twist them outward with a skewer.

We bend one tail of the candy and glue it to the candy with a drop of glue or tape (I use glue). Glue the other tail to the toothpick so that the candy does not fall off. You can attach the candy to the scraper with double-sided tape and thread - your choice. I use hot glue (the candies do not melt, the glue does not get through the candy wrapper to the candy).

4. The most interesting part begins - the formation of our bump. We begin to insert the blanks from top to bottom in a circle.

We alternate: a row of petals, a row of sweets.

The time it takes to create a cone depends on the experience and skills of the master.

Here's what we got:

In this material we will look at crafts made from corrugated paper.

Corrugated paper has become a popular material for arts and crafts and DIY projects. Corrugated paper decor is often used for weddings, corporate events, birthdays and various celebrations. Let's get acquainted with interesting paper crafts.

Crafts - DIY corrugated paper flowers: photo

This material is very easy to work with and is sold at a low price, so the paper is very popular. Today, a wide variety of products are made from corrugated paper, most often these are flowers for an arch, or numbers (for birthdays), also Christmas trees for the New Year, voluminous hearts for Valentine's Day and much more.

It is very easy to make flowers of any kind from such material - roses, daisies, sunflowers, peonies, etc. Even a beginner can cope with this task, but the duration of the process varies depending on the size and type of plant.

If you need a lot of small flowers (for example, to create a bouquet or a voluminous one for a one-year-old child), and there is absolutely no time, you can make cute flowers that visually resemble peonies. To create such flowers you need to take:

  • Corrugated paper of any color you need for your work
  • Scissors
  • Faceted glass
  • Stapler with staples
  • Pencil

So, first you need to fold a large sheet of paper like an accordion, so that you get 7-8 parts. The width of one edge is at least 8 cm.

  • Next, using a glass and a pencil, draw circles, there will be about 7 of them.
  • In the center of each circle, you need to secure all parts of the accordion with a stapler.
  • Cut each blank (circle) with scissors.
  • In order for a flower to form, you need to bend each circle individually towards the center; it is better to press the “petals” at the base near the paperclip itself, so the flower will be more magnificent.

The same peony can be made on a stem; for this, instead of a paper clip, you need to use wire. In the center of the workpiece it is worth making 2 holes through which to pass and secure the wire, it will serve as a workpiece for the stem.

Using a strip of green crepe paper, carefully wrap the stem. Fix the paper using regular PVA glue. Cut out the leaves in any shape and attach to the stem.

  1. Cut out a rectangle 32 cm long and 3 cm wide from red, pink or any other paper of your choice. Fold in half and fold until the length is approximately 4 cm. This is done so that the petals are all the same shape.
  2. Cut 8 petals from the resulting blank.
  3. To form a “core” for the bud, you can roll a small ball from the remaining paper and fix it with glue, or use a round-shaped candy.
  4. Turn the thin edge of the petal for further convenience when assembling the flower. This can be done using a thin skewer on which paper is wound.
  5. Bend the wide edge and stretch it slightly.
  6. Attach the petals to form a tulip bud.
  7. If necessary, attach to a wire wrapped in green paper.
  8. Cut out the leaves for the tulip and fold them in half. Attach to flower.

Roses are made using the same principle. Only in a tulip the thin part of the petal curls inward, or is directed straight. You will have to tinker a little with the rose, because... Each petal of such a sophisticated flower is directed differently, and it is advisable to use blanks of different sizes.

Another, most common method of making roses from corrugated paper:

  1. Cut a rectangle 40*15
  2. Bend the long edge of the segment to create a wave
  3. Roll up the flower and secure with thread or wire.

To make a beautiful bouquet of roses you need at least 9 roses. You can decorate the bouquet with rhinestones, feathers or beautiful satin ribbons.

Craft – voluminous rose made of corrugated paper: photo

Recently, various crafts made from corrugated paper have become popular, especially for voluminous flowers, which can be found in store windows and in various beauty salons, and are used to decorate banquet halls and decorate photo areas.

A voluminous large rose always looks beautiful. It can be made using the same principle as a small volumetric rose (see section 1), or in other ways, for example:

Prepare templates of the required size; to make one rose you will need:

  • 5 pieces. small petals (droplet-shaped)
  • 15 large (heart shaped)
  • 3 pieces of olive leaf
  • An olive-colored calyx made from a strip that is attached to the base of the bud.

For one flower you need 3 stem wires, each wrapped in floral tape.

  1. Using a pencil, bend the edges of the petals. Bend the first petal slightly.
  2. We attach all the petals one by one around the stem.
  3. Now, you need to attach the cup, to do this you need to turn the rose over, attach the cup around the stem with glue.
  4. It is necessary to attach the remaining stems and leaves using sticky mite.

If you need a voluminous rose to hide candy, you will need:

  • 5 large petals
  • 8 – medium size
  • 4 – small
  • 2 petals to completely wrap the candy (they are the largest).

The size depends on the volume of the candy itself:

  1. Carefully level the pieces approximately in the middle so that they resemble the shape of petals.
  2. Wrap the two largest ones around the candy and tie it.
  3. Next, wrap with other petals, starting with the small ones. Attach using PVA glue or a gun. The larger the workpiece, the more you need to bend it, thus creating the effect of an open rose.
  4. To secure the bud, you can tie it again with thread.

Another great way to make a beautiful voluminous rose, for this you need:

  1. Cut a strip of corrugated paper 75*10
  2. Fold like an accordion so that the width is at least 75 mm
  3. Next, you need to cut out a petal 60 mm high according to the template, with a small footrest, so that when opened, you get a garland. For one bud you will need approximately 15 petals. They need to be wrapped around a wire. Tie with thread to secure.
  4. To make a cup, you will need 12*9 green paper. Cut teeth 7 cm high and glue to the base of the bud with teeth towards the top. Cut out leaves of the same color 7 cm high. Using glue, glue two petals at the end of the wire. Cut teeth on the petals.
  5. Cover the wire with a strip of green speckled paper.

Volumetric roses are perfect for decorating a festive room or for a beautiful gift bouquet. Making such decorations with your own hands is not difficult, the main thing is to understand the technology and be patient.

Corrugated paper bouquet: photo

Before every celebration, everyone racks their brains about what gift to buy for their loved ones. Instead of buying, you can make an original and unusual gift from corrugated paper with your own hands. DIY crafts will not only serve as a wonderful gift, but will also bring a lot of fun in the process. This hobby is calming and helps relieve stress.

Recently, suite design has become popular - this is the design of bouquets of sweets and candies.

To place sweets inside the bud, the flowers must be voluminous. For example, roses, lilies, crocuses, a combination of flowers for every taste and many others.

How to make roses is described in the second paragraph of the article, but a bouquet of lilies also looks great, for this you need:

  1. Cut out three petals of each type: 9*5 and 9*4. It is better to choose a cream shade for one side of the petal. For the other, white corrugated paper (cut 10*6 squares).
  2. Wrap a wire 13 cm long by 2/3 with tape.
  3. Glue a wrapped wire to each petal with glue.
  4. In order to fix the wire, you need to glue squares of white paper and cut them into the shape of a petal.
  5. Give each petal the desired shape corresponding to the lily petal. Connect all the petals.
  6. Attach a candy to the center of the flower using liquid glue.
  7. Decorate the stem in the same way as the stem of a rose. Add leaves and wrap with green non-woven fabric.

A great idea would be to give a bouquet of tulips; they can be made using the same technology as described in the first paragraph of the article.

A bouquet of crocuses looks very beautiful for this:

  1. Cut a rectangle of the color you want for the flower, size 15*3
  2. Twist each strip and fold it in half, stretching the paper slightly on top to form a petal. For one flower, 3 such petals are enough.
  3. Attach the candy to the skewer using double-sided tape.
  4. Next is to attach the petals.
  5. Use a thread to secure the paper.
  6. Wrap the skewer with tape to create a cup of bud.
  7. The leaves for such a bouquet are made in the same way as the petals, but green, narrower and longer.
  8. Combine everything in a single composition and secure with tape.

A bouquet can be made from a combination of different flowers; you can also choose a palette to suit your taste, size and shape of flowers. The bouquet can be presented in a regular basket, in floral film or a basket made from the sweets themselves. The main thing is your imagination and free time.

You can decorate the bouquet using various beads, butterflies, ladybugs, birds, artificial leaves, berries, flowers, etc.

You can also add some satin or paper ribbons to complete the decor.

Craft - three-dimensional Christmas tree made of corrugated paper: photo

Before the New Year, everyone is preparing gifts for their family and friends in anticipation of the holiday. Of course, if a souvenir is made by yourself, it is always special and not the same as others. For the New Year, it is customary to give gifts in a winter theme, with crafts made from corrugated paper: New Year trees, snowflakes, Christmas wreaths, snowmen and much more.

Making a small gift Christmas tree requires very little time and effort. A cone is used as a base, into which you can place sweets, a bottle of champagne or any other gift.

A Christmas tree can be made in different ways, for example:

  1. Saddle a cone out of thick cardboard and secure with tape.
  2. To avoid gaps in the finished product, the cone must be painted over or covered with colored paper.
  3. Make “needles” using the same method as described in the first paragraph from green corrugated paper; make blanks using a faceted glass and a pencil. Secure 6-7 pieces in the center with staples and bend each circle towards the center.
  4. The number of such “needles” depends on the size of the cone.
  5. Starting from the bottom of the Christmas tree, attach all the flowers using liquid glue or PVA.

You can decorate this homemade beauty to suit every taste. For example, make a bow from a gold ribbon that can be attached to the very top, and glue one mother-of-pearl bead to the center of each flower.

Another simple way:

  1. Make a cone and color it as described above.
  2. Cut a small strip approximately 3-4 cm wide. Make cuts along the entire length, every 1 cm. It turns out like a cut garland.
  3. Wrap the entire cone with this garland.
  4. Cut circles of different sizes from red paper and place them over the entire surface of the Christmas tree.
  5. Glue a beautiful red bow to the top.

Craft – voluminous snowflakes made of corrugated paper

As they say, no two snowflakes are alike, and there are many ways to make beautiful snowflakes.

Basically, snowflakes are made from ordinary paper, but to make your product unique, you can make a voluminous, beautiful and original snowflake from corrugated paper. To do this you will need:

  • The paper for the base should be thick. It is better to use cardboard, the color you need
  • Thick corrugated paper or napkins
  • Scissors
  • Toothpick

  1. Cut out a snowflake template from thick paper or cardboard (at your discretion)
  2. Cut into small squares (approximately 1.5*1.5 cm)
  3. Screw each square onto a toothpick and attach it to the base with glue.
  4. Do this with each square.

Instead of a toothpick, you can use a regular pencil. You can also get a very fluffy snowflake if you don’t just twist the squares, but put a toothpick in the center of each square and bend the workpiece to it.

You can paste over “needles” on both sides of the base. For decoration you should use various sparkles or rhinestones.

Craft - a cone made of corrugated paper

Of course, it will be very original if you give a New Year tree or a Christmas wreath with pine cones that you made yourself. In order for the Christmas tree branch with cones to be as similar as possible to the real one, you need to take:

  • Green corrugated paper
  • Brown corrugated paper
  • Wire
  • Tape
  • Scissors

First, you need to prepare a pine branch. To do this, you need to cut a long strip of green color. The width depends on what size needle you want. Along the entire length, cuts need to be made every 0.5 mm.

  • Now you need to do the most painstaking work - twist each cut into a thin needle.
  • You need to take a small wire, bend it in half, and thread the beginning of the ribbon with needles. Wind a garland of needles in a spiral so that it looks like a pine branch. You need to secure it with tape.
  • In order to get a really lush branch, you need to connect several small fluffy branches.
  • Now we need to make a pine cone. To do this, you need to cut a long strip of brown corrugated paper, 4-5 cm wide. In order to create “scales,” you need to make small bends (up to 10 mm) along the entire length of the piece.
  • Next, twist the ribbon to form a bump. The upper part is thin, the lower part is wide. Secure the base with wire and then with tape so that it is not noticeable when attached.

From such branches you can form a beautiful Christmas wreath and decorate it with a beautiful bow. If you attach such pine branches with cones to a conical base, you will get an excellent little Christmas tree.

Craft - Snow Maiden made of corrugated paper

For the New Year, I want to surprise my family and friends. A wonderful gift can be made from an ordinary Barbie doll and corrugated paper. In order to make such an original gift you need:

  1. Make a frame for the skirt from cardboard (in which you can hide sweets). The size depends on the length of the doll's skirt.
  2. To prevent the candies from falling out, you need to make a bottom for the frame, after putting some sweets inside. It is worth remembering that the lower part of the doll must fit into the frame.
  3. Cover the surface of the frame with thin colored paper.
  4. From blue corrugated paper you need to cut a rectangle that corresponds to the size of the bell skirt. Stretch the bottom edge of the skirt slightly to create a wave.
  5. Using liquid glue and a gun, spread the skirt, gluing it to the top of the frame.
  6. Put a skirt on the doll. The skirt should be easy to remove so that you can easily get the candies.
  7. Next, you need to make a removable skirt that is attached directly to the doll. It is made exactly according to the same principle as the first skirt, but the length is almost 2 times shorter.
  8. Make sleeves and a collar from braid or lace (do it by eye, to your taste).
  9. You can make a small vest for a doll from corrugated paper and attach it with liquid glue. Decorate with rhinestones or beads.
  10. Braid blue and white satin ribbons into the braid.
  11. If desired, you can make a kokoshnik for the Snow Maiden. It can be made from cardboard and a thin satin ribbon for fixation and decorated with sequins and beads.

This “winter beauty” will delight not only children, but also adults.

Craft – “Mother’s Heart” for Mother’s Day from corrugated paper

For every mother, the best gift from her children is a gift made with her own hands. Mother's Day is celebrated on May 14, and if you want to give something original and unusual to your mother, you can make an unusual bouquet from corrugated paper.

A bouquet can be prepared in the shape of a heart from the flowers that your mother loves, and this composition can be called “Mother’s Heart”. How to make various bouquets is described in the third paragraph of the article.

As an option, you can make a beautiful design for a heart-shaped candy box. To do this, you need to make flowers of one type or a set of different buds, attach them to the box using liquid glue.

Also, a homemade postcard decorated with flower buds (lilies, roses, daisies, etc.) will be a pleasant surprise. And if you add a sincere wish or poem to the composition, the gift will turn out to be truly unique and will be remembered for a long time.

Crafts from materials such as corrugated paper are quite easy to make, so even children can prepare an unusual gift for their mother for any occasion.

Corrugated paper candies

A bouquet of sweets is the perfect sweet gift for any occasion and just for no reason. Bouquets created with your own hands are far from a banal gift, but a real surprise that will delight the eye and is distinguished by its uniqueness and originality.

How to make bouquets with different flowers can be found in the second paragraph of the article. You can put sweets for every taste in flower buds.

You can also decorate a box of candies using corrugated paper. The design of the box should correspond to the holiday for which you are going to give a gift, but if you decide to make an unexpected surprise, the box can be decorated with unusual flowers or any other shapes at your discretion. It is very easy to make a variety of shapes, waves and much more from corrugated paper.

Another simple bouquet of sweets, for which you will need:

  • Plastic bottle – 1.5 l
  • Liquid glue, better with a gun
  • Green corrugated paper
  • Round candies in golden packaging

The bottle must be empty. It is better to cut out the middle of the bottle; to do this, you need to cut the bottle in half and cut off an extra piece from the bottom. This way the bottle will be less elongated.

Cover the main part with candies using liquid glue. And cut out leaves for the pineapple from green corrugated paper; they should be elongated. Insert into the neck and your “pineapple” is ready!

Various gift souvenirs are made from corrugated paper, such as baskets and flower pots containing candies; ships; Christmas trees, snowmen, snowflakes; make unusual cakes from sweets and paper; decorate candy boxes and much more. The main thing is to give free rein to your imagination and devote time to such a wonderful hobby.

Easy and simple children's crafts from corrugated paper for kindergarten, school

Corrugated paper is a wonderful craft material, quite cheap and easily available. With this paper it is very easy to make various crafts, toys, Christmas trees, decorations, costumes, magnificent bouquets and unusual garlands.

Working with corrugated paper allows the child to develop hand motor skills and, of course, thinking.

To begin with, the baby needs to learn how to make simple products, for example:

  1. An application or a small picture where the child can place various butterflies, simple flowers, a hedgehog, etc.

A hedgehog can be made from brown paper. To do this, you need to make 5-6 small round blanks, connect them in the center with glue. When the blank dries, you need to make cuts along the entire circle to the center and fluff it with your hands so that the hedgehog turns out fluffy. The nose and eyes can be painted separately.

You can also make grass; to do this, fold a small piece of green corrugation several times and make a fringe, which has received grass, and glue it to the bottom of the applique.

  1. Snowflake. You can do it according to the principle described in paragraph 6 of the article.
  2. Herringbone. To do this, you can use a cone or simply draw a base on paper, and the child can “decorate” a homemade Christmas tree using corrugated paper, at his own discretion.
  3. Flower buds. Making flowers from corrugated paper is quite simple, the main thing is to understand the technology itself. You can show your baby the simplest options, for example, chamomile, tulip or poppy.

You can make a wide variety of products from corrugated paper, making all your fantasies come true, and for children, crafts from corrugated paper are a fun and interesting activity that develops imagination and thinking.

It is not always possible to get clay for making decorative figurines; in this case, they can be made from salt dough. But this is not so simple, since you first need to properly prepare the mass for modeling, and also know how to dry it later.

In this article we will look step by step at how to make various figures from salt dough: animals, people, and also just objects.

In order to make the dough, we will need:

  • 1 cup flour;
  • 0.5 cups salt;
  • 0.5 cups of warm water;
  • ceramic mixing bowl and spoon.

Pour flour into a plate and add salt to it. Stir and then pour out the water.

Mix well with a spoon.

The finished dough for modeling looks like this:

Regardless of what kind of figures you are going to make from salt dough, it is always prepared according to this recipe.

Master class No. 1: light salt dough figures

You will need:

  • ready-made salt dough;
  • cutting board;
  • rolling pin;
  • spatula;
  • cookie cutters (stars, people, circles, hearts);
  • straw straw or toothpick;
  • tracing paper or paper (parchment) for baking;
  • watercolor paints and brushes.

Progress:

Roll out the dough until it is 0.5 cm thick.

On the rolled out sheet we make imprints of the prepared molds. You need to press well to cut the dough.

Line a baking sheet with tracing paper or baking paper. Using a spatula, transfer the separated figures onto it. If you don't have a suitable spatula, you can do it by hand.

Using a straw, we make a small hole so that you can hang the figurine later. A toothpick is also used for the same purpose.

Place the salt dough figures in the oven and bake for several hours at +250°C. Baking time depends on the thickness of the product; the thicker, the longer.

Place on a flat surface and let cool.

We color at our discretion.

By threading a rope through the hole, such figures can be hung around your neck, on a Christmas tree, or hung around the house.

Master class No. 2: cat figurines made from salt dough

You will need:

  • puff pastry;
  • cardboard;
  • paints (watercolor or gouache) and brush;
  • frame.

Divide the dough into parts:

  • for the body - the largest;
  • for the head – less;
  • for the tail, muzzle, paws, eyes, ears - small pieces are suitable.

We attach the flattened circles to the cardboard, placing them as shown in the photo. This will be the head and torso. In the middle of the smaller circle we place the muzzle.

Then we make flat small parts: ears, eyes, paws and tail. The thickness of each part should be 3-5 mm.

Dry in the oven at 250°C for 3-4 hours. After complete drying, we begin painting. First we cover the entire figure with black paint.

Instructions

Start by preparing the salt dough. Pour 1 cup salt into a bowl. It is best to use finely ground salt, then the dough will be more plastic and homogeneous. Pour it with one glass of hot water and stir until completely dissolved. Once the water has cooled to room temperature, add 1 cup of flour to the bowl. Knead the dough thoroughly.

To make sculpting more interesting, make the dough colored. To do this, divide it into as many parts as there are different colors. Add food coloring or gouache dissolved in water to the dough. Knead it again and check that all parts are the same in density. And if necessary, add a little flour or water.

Roll the colored parts of the dough into balls and place them in bags to avoid chapping. When it comes into contact with air, a salt crust appears on the dough, which needs to be cut off from time to time. As soon as the dough is ready, you can immediately begin modeling.

In order to sculpt a toy in the shape of a dog, roll up a ball for the future body and stretch it into a bean shape. Decide where the dog's nose will be and where its tail will be. Make legs from the dough and attach to the body. If the dough does not stick very well, run a damp brush over the junction of the parts. Sculpt the ears and tail and attach them in place. Make holes for the eyes and nose.

Place the molded toy to dry in the sun. In a day it will be covered with a crust and will look quite strong, but this impression is deceptive - it will still remain raw inside. The craft will dry completely only after a week. If you are in a hurry, you can dry the toy in the oven. Preheat the oven to 70 degrees Celsius, place the toy on a baking sheet and leave the door open. For 0.5 centimeters of product thickness, 1 hour of drying is required.

Paint your craft with gouache. Just keep in mind that the paint should be quite thick so that the dough does not have time to get wet. Let the paint dry for two days and coat the toy with wood varnish if you want it to last a long time.

Crafts made from dough are not exactly cooking. This is already art. And besides, this is a good gift. You can make a variety of toys from the dough, and then decorate them with paints: gouache, watercolors or food coloring. The main thing is that the dough should be salty.

You will need

    • Flour - 3 cups;
  • Salt - 2 cups;
  • Water - 1 glass;
  • Paints and brushes for painting figures.

Instructions

First of all, mix the ingredients to such a consistency that the resulting mixture does not stick to the dishes. As you cook, add a little more salt or, conversely, water. It all depends on how thick the dough turns out. Don't be afraid to experiment with consistency.

From the finished dough you can now fashion any kind, for example, figures of men, fairy tales, animals and whatever your heart desires. After this, the finished figures must be dried. You can dry it at room temperature, especially if the figures are small and not very voluminous. You can also dry it in the oven at a temperature of 120-140 degrees Celsius. In large figures it is necessary to make a puncture inside for better and faster drying.

Paint the figures. You can use watercolor and add PVA glue to it, and then use this mixture. This way the paint will stick much better.

  • how to make a figurine

You can make a lot of crafts from salt dough with your children. Unlike plasticine, this material is suitable for children of any age. Even if the child pulls the dough into his mouth, nothing will happen.

You can make such crafts at home with your child - all the ingredients are available and inexpensive. It’s especially nice to make New Year’s toys from salt dough. You can make them as much as you want and the way you want. Even the smallest children feel that they worked hard for the holiday together with everyone else if the toys they made hang on the Christmas tree.

For the dough, take 2 cups of plain wheat flour, a glass of salt, 250 g of water. Mix everything well. The degree of readiness of the dough is determined by kneading - if it crumbles, add water, if it stretches or sticks to your hands, add flour. Roll the dough into a ball - if it holds its shape well, you're done. You can add a little vegetable oil - then the finished mass will not stick to your hands.

Crafts made from salt dough for a Christmas tree

To make Christmas tree decorations from salt dough, you can use cookie cutters. Even kids, with their help, do an excellent job of cutting out figures from rolled out dough. Such figures can be dried and left as is or decorated.

Try taking a cocktail straw and using it to make many small holes in a cut-out flat figure. The result is openwork products. You can also decorate with beads and sparkles, you just need to keep in mind that the toys cannot be dried in the oven, otherwise the decorations may melt. In addition to beads, shells, cereals, buttons, nuts, coffee beans, and so on can be used to decorate products.

There are wonderful lacing toys for developing fine motor skills in a child. Try making holes around the edges of a salt dough figurine, placing them in a certain order. Dry the product. Invite your child to thread bright ribbons or thick yarn through these holes. You will have a great lacing toy.

Older children can be asked to paint the toy with permanent markers or cover it with pictures using the decoupage technique.

It is convenient to sculpt flat, slightly convex figures from the dough. This property of the dough can be used to create bas-reliefs from it - convex images on a plane.

Material and tools: a board sprinkled with flour, a rolling pin, a knife, a sharpened pencil, a glass of water, a thin brush, a cloth or sponge, a little vegetable oil.

Dough: flour - 1 cup, salt - 1 cup, vegetable oil - a tablespoon, water - half a cup.

Mix all ingredients and knead well on a board to obtain a soft, homogeneous mass. Place the dough in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours. After this, you can sculpt from the dough. Place the remaining dough after modeling in a plastic bag and store in the refrigerator until next time.

The techniques for modeling from dough are the same as for modeling from plasticine.

Colored dough

Part of the modeling mass can be left unpainted (it has a light beige color), and part can be painted in different colors using gouache paints. If you sculpt from colored dough, you won't have to color the finished products. This is especially important if small children are sculpting, for whom it is still difficult to accurately hit a certain place with a brush.

You will need unpainted salt dough and a set of gouache or acrylic paints. Paints must be in a paste form. If they are dry, add a little water to the jars and wait until the paint softens.

Take a piece of dough in your left hand, such that it fits freely in your fist. Make a dimple in the middle of this piece. Using the index finger of your right hand, scoop a piece of paste from the jar and place it in this recess.

Close the edges of the dent so that the paint is inside.

Roll the dough ball up and down between your palms. Your hands will get a little dirty, but it doesn’t matter - the paint can be easily washed off with water. To prevent the dough from sticking to your hands too much, moisten them with sunflower oil.

After rolling out a long sausage, fold it in half and roll again. Repeat this operation until the “marble” stains disappear and the color becomes uniform. If after adding paint the dough becomes too soft, add a little salt and flour to it.

Prepare a set of colored mass in this way. Leave part of the dough uncolored - it will act as white. Store each color of dough in a separate plastic bag or in a yogurt jar with a tight-fitting lid.

Pieces of colored dough can be mixed, like paints, and achieve the shade you want. To do this, you just need to take two pieces of dough and knead them together until. until the dough is smooth:

Blue + white = light blue;

White + red = pink;

Blue + pink = purple;

Blue + yellow = green;

Yellow + red = orange;

Green + red = brown;

Green + blue = emerald.

And don't forget to stock up on flesh-colored dough! In order to make such a dough, you need to add a little yellow to the light pink one.

The excess colored dough that remains after modeling can be mixed into one lump so that it does not dry out. The result will be an “incomprehensible”, most likely gray-brown, color. But he can also be useful for something.

You can make paintings and toys from colored dough
