The administrator kindly asked me to fill out the form, I waited for my turn, since I was not the only candidate. I talked to the manager, she was satisfied with my work experience, and I, in turn, was satisfied with the working conditions. They took a copy of my passport (there is a big question about the legality of this procedure). And so they agreed that they would call me. They called the next day at 18:00 in the evening (September 7) and said that my candidacy was approved and I was invited to an internship the next day (September 8) at 15:30. That's what they decided on. I arrive at the restaurant at the specified time, and the administrator tells me, I write verbatim, “We are currently looking for 2 people for this position, they are from the central office, but it’s not a fact that they will be suitable, they probably haven’t had time to call you yet and warn you. » I stand in bewilderment and ask, if people are already doing internships, what do you mean they didn’t have time to call!? The administrator hums something under his breath, apologizes, and says, I write verbatim, “We will look at people before tomorrow, and in any case, tomorrow before 15:00 we will call you and tell you our decision.” I didn’t make it worse, I agreed. The next day has come, the hour of the ICS has arrived, the time is 15:00...silence...16:00...silence...17:00...silence at 17:30 I call Mikhail himself (his contacts are listed under the vacancy) I ask, is my candidacy still relevant? To which I get the answer “No, we have already found a storekeeper, it’s not relevant.” I understand that I was just fucked, and I begin to tell him why I was approved, then the restaurant turned me around, why they didn’t call me, didn’t warn me that they were training others of people. To which I receive an honest answer from Mikhail - “This is how our central office works, information reaches us at the last moment, and in general, people from the central office are our priority over ordinary applicants, I apologize.”

A few questions for management. Why do the employees of the responsible department “work” so carelessly and irresponsibly? Was it really such a shame to call and say that the internship was cancelled? Because of your irresponsibility, I lost a lot of time. And why then was it necessary to post a vacancy if you are considering “your” people? It turns out that there was no competitive selection as such, and besides me, another 15-20 people lost their precious time!? And how did it happen that my candidacy was approved, and in the end they were fucked?

For applicants. If such a mess is already happening at the interview stage, I’m afraid to imagine what’s going on inside this charade. Draw your own conclusions!

All you have to do is take a ride in the Grand European Express dining car.
It is very symbolic that the restaurant opened next to the Kievsky railway station, in the Evropeisky shopping center on the site of the faceless Moscow restaurant. After all, it is from this station that trains to Europe have been departing for almost a century.
In turn, guests of the capital can begin their acquaintance with Moscow by having a snack and a rest in one of the most beautiful and vibrant restaurants in the city.

At first glance, it is absolutely clear that this is A. Rappoport’s project.
The entire space is divided into zones and is very original. An entire restaurant car of a train from the last century is located in the open trading space. Each of the five capitals, London, Paris, Rome, Vienna and Moscow, has its own stop where guests and passengers are comfortably accommodated in luxurious compartments, cosily decorated with heavy velvet curtains. Belonging to a city is determined by many small recognizable details unique to this capital.
The waitresses are dressed in stylish conductor uniforms, creating an even greater illusion of traveling on an express train.

Strict and prim London is the birthplace of boxing and bulldogs.

The dream of many, the capital of France is Paris, the city of love, and its main symbol is the Eiffel Tower.

The eternal city of Rome, with its delightful museums and squares.

The modest charm of the bourgeoisie - Vienna.

And Moscow of the 50s.

Alexey Berzin (also Cook’kareku) has been invited to the position of chef at Express.
The dining car has a single menu, which contains the most iconic dishes from the cuisine of five European capitals: salad nicoise and Olivier salad with crispy yolks, quiche Laurent and Scottish meat pie, confit duck leg and Wiener veal schnitzel, spaghetti with meatballs, Hungarian goulash, and etc.

Vinaigrette with Pacific herring (240 rub.), which is served with beetroot sauce (beets, mustard, country sour cream) and a sauce based on cream and wild mustard.

Slightly marinated Murmansk salmon with coriander, potatoes in “ash”, cucumber , horseradish sauce and green butter, garnished with fresh spinach and watercress leaves. The combination is simply delicious, the fish is fresh and tender. The dish is very popular.


Duck pate with orange jelly (290 RUR), prepared from chicken liver and duck, stewed with dried tomatoes and capers. Served with brioche, pear confiture and hazelnuts and garnished with orange jelly.




Pasta with meat and parmesan sauces

Seafood donuts (410 RUR) made from dough with the addition of cuttlefish ink, which successfully emphasizes the sweetish shrimp taste of the filling.

Glazed veal cheeks with potatoes and baked vegetables
The cheeks are simmered in beef broth for 5-6 hours. Glazed with port wine sauce and placed on top of mashed potatoes and spinach. They are not at all photogenic, but surprisingly tender and tasty.


Glazed young bull ribs , also deserve attention.

Fried marbled beef shoulder with spinach potatoes and tomato fondue (910 rub.).

Sweet pastries and desserts are worth mentioning separately. There are so many of them here that it literally dazzles your eyes.
All of them are handmade and developed by the restaurant’s pastry chef Ilyana Chernysheva.
The first tartlets - an exquisite dessert with different fillings, were mentioned back in the Middle Ages in France, it was served at balls and gala dinners. At Express they are made from shortcrust pastry with the most delicate light cream and fresh blueberries or strawberries.

Delicious Pavlova with strawberry jam inside. A very interesting option, and also low in calories. Pavlova cake consists of egg whites whipped into a stable foam with a small amount of sugar.



Delicate panna cotta with citrus notes.

The dessert menu is so varied that just for the confectionery shop alone it’s worth stopping by at Express, sitting at a table in a compartment, drinking a cup of coffee and enjoying the taste of one of the pastries. And you will definitely want to come back here more than once - the atmosphere of the restaurant, excellent service and variety of dishes for every taste contribute to this.

A democratic cafe serving European cuisine in the atrium of the Evropeisky shopping center

An affordable cafe on the ground floor of the Evropeisky shopping center near the fountain, where you can take a gastronomic journey throughout Europe.

The café's design is an allusion to the luxurious furnishings of train dining cars from the early 20th century. The space is conventionally divided into five stop zones: Moscow, London, Paris, Rome and Vienna. Each of them is decorated in its own way: in “London” there are porcelain bulldogs on the tables and boxing gloves hanging on the wall, in “Moscow” there is a red soda machine, and the tables are served with plates depicting the domes of St. Basil’s Cathedral, in “Rome” Busts of ancient emperors are on display, and in “Paris” there is a model of the Eiffel Tower. The arrangement of tables is organized according to the compartment principle, the “windows” are covered with velvet curtains, a red toy train rides along the canopy above all areas, and waitresses in conductor uniforms serve guests.

The menu includes side by side vinaigrette and marbled beef tartare, Chernigov borscht and onion with duck, Wiener schnitzel and fettuccine with dor blue cheese, Croque Madame and Danish halibut. Modern culinary techniques help chefs breathe new life into long-known recipes for European dishes: aromatic tarragon and dried cranberries are added to a salad of fresh greens with goat cheese, cream of baked chestnuts is added to pumpkin soup, eggs Benedict with salmon or ham are served with Swiss rosti, spinach and Beurblanc sauce, and Wiener schnitzel made from steamed veal in a crispy crust, garnished with Gurian cabbage and lingonberry sauce.
