How to make a drink

Sea buckthorn nectar can be made from both fresh and frozen fruits. The recipe for preparing the drink is as follows:

  • Wash the berries, dry and chop using a blender or crusher. There is another way: mash the fruits with a regular bottle, placing them on a wooden board.
  • Place the mixture in an enamel container, add water (preferably warm), heat to 50 degrees, remove from heat. Squeeze out the juice from the resulting slurry using a press. For 1 kg of berries you will need 200 ml of water.
  • Filter the liquid through several layers of gauze, heat to 90 degrees, pour into dry jars, close the lids and boil: containers with a volume of 0.5 liters - 10 minutes, 1 liter - 15 minutes. Seal the prepared sea buckthorn juice hermetically.

Attention! Do not put cans of drink in boiling water, but bring it to a boil with them. The initial water temperature should be around 70 degrees.

There is an easier way: prepare the juice using a juicer, filter, remove the pulp. Add sugar to the drink, stir, pour into sterilized containers and place in a cool room. Granulated sugar take in the same proportion as the juice.

Harm. Contraindications

So that the benefits and harms of sea buckthorn juice do not appear in equally, it is important to observe the conditions for preparing and storing nectar, the rules for its intake, and contraindications.

The product is prohibited for use:

  • for diseases of the pancreas (pancreatitis, etc.);
  • for diseases of the gallbladder and liver;
  • with acute cholecystitis;
  • with gastritis increased acidity digestive juice;
  • with individual intolerance to sea buckthorn berries;
  • with an allergy to carotene.

In view of high content acids, sea buckthorn nectar is harmful for patients with hyperacid gastritis and peptic ulcers. And the choleretic effect makes it impossible to take it in case of cholelithiasis.
