  • Restaurant Pizzeria La Piazzetta De Trastevere at Via Cardinale Merry del Val, 16 (Trastevere district). Opening hours: 12:30-0:00, very convenient, does not close for siesta.
  • Pizzeria ai Marmi at Viale di Trastevere, 53/57 (Trastevere district).   • Restaurant Quinzi&Gabrieli at Via delle Coppelle, 5 (next to Piazza Navona). I really like this restaurant, if it were even cheaper, it wouldn’t have a price! There is a very tasty raw seafood starter dish, it costs 40 euros for a small portion or 60 euros for a large plate (for 2-3 people).
  • Restaurant Costa Paradiso at Via Isonzo, 6 (next to Piazza Fiume, La Rinascente store), closed on Sunday.
  • Restaurant Eleonora D'Arborea at Corso Trieste, 23. This is a good fish restaurant, where you can try fresh seafood: oysters, sea urchins and other delicacies.

Rome Michelin Restaurants

The most famous Michelin starred restaurant in Rome is La Pergola. He has three stars!!! This restaurant is located at Via Alberto Cadlolo, 101. Opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday: 19:30 - 23:30, closed on Monday. Dress code: jacket for men.

If you want to get into this restaurant, I strongly advise you to book a table in advance (preferably 2 - 3 months in advance) by writing a request to their email and providing contact information (mobile phone and/or information about your place of residence in Rome).

Theater - restaurant in Rome

In Rome there is a restaurant Thalia at Via Montebello, 130 (next to Termini Station). There they organize dinner and a show for tourist groups.

When I was in Italy for the first time in 2002 on a group tour, in Rome our group was offered dinner at a restaurant-theater. I agreed, so I ended up in this Thalia restaurant, I even remembered its name. To be honest, I won’t say that I was delighted; I definitely wouldn’t go there a second time. Still, it seems to me that it is better to go separately to the Opera House in Rome and to a good restaurant.

Panoramic restaurants in Rome

  • Restaurant Mirabelle at Via di Porta Pinciana, 14 (next to Via Veneto), is located on the seventh floor of the Splendide Royal Roma Hotel. This restaurant used to have a Michelin star, then they lost it, but as they themselves say: “We are still on top!”
  • Restaurant Giuda ballerino! at Piazza Barberini, 23, located on the top floor of the Bernini Bristol Hotel. By the way, they also present themselves as a Michelin-starred restaurant.

Russian restaurants in Rome

If you miss Russian cuisine, you can go to the Matrioska (Matryoshka) restaurant at Via Della Collina Volpi, 6 (next to the Basilica of St. Paul outside the walls; blue metro line, Basilica San Paolo stop). There are traditional dishes of Russian, Caucasian, Moldavian and Ukrainian cuisine.

Cafe Rome

  • Cafe Tazza d'oro at Via dei Pastini, 11 (next to the Pantheon). In this cafe you can drink a cup of coffee only at the bar, there are no tables, but the coffee is excellent!!! In addition, you can buy coffee beans here or ground, whichever you prefer.
  • Cafe Sant "Eustachio at: Piazza di Sant" Eustachio, 82 (next to the Pantheon and Piazza Navona).
  • Cafe El Greco at Via dei Condotti, 86 (next to Piazza di Spagna). It was founded in 1760. N.V. liked to have a cup of coffee in this cafe. Gogol, there is a picture with N.V. sitting at the table of this cafe. Gogol in the foreground and a sheet of paper on which Gogol wrote words about Russia in his own hand. The coffee there is delicious, but the prices are 3-4 times more expensive than in other cafes in Rome. You have to pay for the brand!!!
  • Babington's Tea Room cafe at Piazza di Spagna, 23 (right on Piazza di Spagna: if you face the Spanish Steps, then on the left side of it). Here you can drink real delicious tea.
  • Ice cream cafe “Gelateria della Palma” at Via della Maddalena, 19-23 (next to the Pantheon). There are more than 150 flavors, there is even champagne-flavored ice cream (this is my favorite), although it doesn’t always happen, I hope you’re lucky!!!
  • Ice cream cafe "GROM" is a chain cafe, in Rome they are located at: Via della Maddalena, 30 A (next to the Pantheon), Piazza Navona 1 (on Piazza Navona), in the Termini station building, in the Porta di Roma shopping center . Grom has very tasty natural ice cream, and even tastier milkshakes (frappè), my favorite is the one with pear flavor (frappè alla pera).
  • Cafe Pompi at Via Albalonga, 9 (red metro line, Re Di Roma stop), closed on Monday. I myself love this place very much, there are a lot of desserts there. I go there to eat tiramisu, it is the most delicious in Rome, be sure to try it!

Oh, how pleased I am with one of the Roman evenings :)

But let's start from the beginning.
Everyone knows Michelin, a tire manufacturer. Even those who are indifferent to tires know its emblem - a man wrapped in white ribbons. The company comes from France and initially its audience was motorists. At some point, the idea came up to publish branded guides describing places where you can eat on the go.
The idea took root and went far beyond France. Currently, the company has a whole army of inspectors who travel around the world and evaluate restaurants. Based on the results of inspections (always anonymous), the restaurant receives one, two or three stars. This is written about in guides that are constantly updated and reissued. Having a Michelin star is a great honor.
There are no restaurants with Michelin stars in Russia.

There are several such restaurants in Rome and on our trip we visited one of them - "Agatha and Romeo". This is an expensive and reputable restaurant. At the moment when I booked the table, I didn’t fully understand the prices, otherwise I would have slipped away :) But we got there and were very, very pleased. This is not just a dinner - it is a symphony, it is a thoughtful feast of the senses.

The restaurant menu is not very extensive. The ready-made tasting set is special - it includes several courses at the discretion of the restaurant owners. Perhaps soon I will become an experienced mega-expert and will be able to reject such proposals :), but now I will say - this is what is needed. This is not a set of “dishes of the day” that were cooked in large cauldrons, but rather a thoughtful sequence of tastes - each subsequent one emphasizes and develops the previous one.

My husband and I were the first to arrive at the restaurant and were greeted friendly and seated at a table.
There was a cabinet with glasses right in front of us. I am a fanatical lover and connoisseur of glass, and from one inspection of this cabinet I was delighted - they understand wine and tableware here. I apologize for the photo, I didn’t figure out the lighting right away.

The remark about “they’re sorting it out here” is quite impudent. The wine cellar "Agatha and Romeo" is considered one of the best (if not the best) in the world. I am a certified sommelier and try to stay on top of things, but these are people of the highest level - watch, admire and learn :)

The tasting menu included a tasting set of wines. After some hesitation, we ordered it too. The hesitation was caused by the fact that I wanted to understand the wine myself, talk to the sommelier and order something. It's good that I didn't do this. The set included five wines, all very interesting and suitable for dinner.

I asked for a wine list. And I was delighted (oh, this state was repeated many times during the evening) - they brought me two books. These are white wines, and this volume is red.

And dinner began!
Perfect dishes, fragrant pastries - a compliment from the chef.

First wine. My favorite memory of this evening. Italian rose sparkling wine. Look how great it looks in a flared glass - it's lighter at the bottom, and there's more layer of wine towards the top of the glass, so the wine becomes darker in appearance.
Light, aromatic, elegant, balanced taste. A great start to the evening.

And here is the first appetizer. Food isn't the main thing here. Main wines. Or the atmosphere. Or the incredible unity of all dishes and drinks.
In a small glass there is something foamy and sea-like.

The second appetizer is eggplant with parmesan mousse. The portions are small and therefore exciting - only seven dishes. Won't we be hungry?)
The service and explanations of the waiters (English, Italian) are above all praise.

A new glass and a new wine are on the horizon. A solid and fresh German Riesling. I deliberately do not dwell on specific names - this is now superfluous.
And the second appetizer - lightly fried tuna slices and an outlandish green salad.

Here it is - a beautiful Riesling in an elegant glass.

And this dish raised the most questions. The list of dishes was not in front of our eyes, we missed the waiter’s explanations, covered with the pleasure of the first wines and appetizers, so we decided that it was something with green sauce. A careful examination of the dish and a glance at the menu revealed the truth - this is a delicate creamy pea soup and an oyster on a skewer. The most unusual dish of the evening, both in appearance and in taste.

We are approaching the main courses and the third wine is white Italian friulano.
First they brought a new glass...

And then the wine itself appeared:

And my biggest favorite is the tender ravioli with goat's milk and pumpkin sauce. Four things. Very tasty. And then I realized with surprise that I was already full and drunk.

Somewhere around this point I dropped my fork. Two seconds later (really, after two), the waiter came running with a new fork. I wouldn’t be surprised if he got an “excellent” grade in the special course “Auditory identification of the type of fallen cutlery” :)

And the main hot dish:
A slice of turbot fish, a zucchini flower stuffed with cod cream and a little zucchini puree. Delicious. This stuffed zucchini flower is the most delicious thing we ate on our entire trip. And how beautifully served!

By this point it became clear that we would not remain hungry. And indifferent too - the dinner unfolded, intoxicated, enveloped, delighted.

The fourth wine is the only red one of the evening. The most dense, aromatic, slightly spicy.
And also a cheese plate! Incredible. We spent more time studying it than any other dish. Cheeses, tomato jam and a piece of panforte (Florentine sweetness is a distant relative of gingerbread, but not as sweet).
Perfect! And I'm a big connoisseur when it comes to cheese)

And pre-dessert - a small dish before dessert.
By this point I was very, very, very full. So full that it was just a shame. I sadly looked at another small vase and dipped a spoon into the delicate lemon cream. And she couldn’t eat it. A few minutes later the waiter came and asked if he could take it away. I gathered my strength and did not give up the trophy :)

There are desserts ahead and a glass for Muscat, a dessert wine, appears on the table.

And then the perfect tiramisu and a scattering of small cakes burst out. I regret one thing - they were very tasty, they deserved much more admiration than I could offer.

The dinner ended with aromatic coffee. The waiter came to me with three types of sugar and asked - white, brown, crystalline? According to eyewitnesses, I looked sadly at my husband and said: “Sugar is white. What does our dear waiter want from me?” He wanted me to choose sugar :)

And - horror of horrors - home study of the photographs showed that to the right of the cup there was a slice of marmalade in chocolate glaze. My husband says it's very tasty. I overlooked mine and didn’t try it.

After dinner was over, the owner and waiters offered to call us a taxi, but it was impossible to get in and go somewhere.
We walked around Rome at night. We sat in the Borghese gardens. We recalled the funny and delightful moments of the evening.
We rejoiced at the beauty.
