Summer, juicy varieties of apples are not at all suitable for making jam; they become loose and boil quickly. The result is a mushy mass. And the resulting taste is not at all what you expect. They are sweet and when combined with sugar they become even more cloying.

Dhomemade apple jamcinnamon- cooking method:

To begin with, let's take ripe, juicy apples, wash them well, cut off their peel and damaged areas, remove the seed pod and cut each into small pieces, as you can find for preparing it on our website.

Next, transfer the prepared apples into a large, wide enamel pan or basin intended for food products, and sprinkle layers of granulated sugar. Leave the apples in a cool place for several hours so that they release juice.

Then transfer the bowl with apples to the stove, turn the heat to very low and, with continuous stirring (so that the fruit does not burn and spoil the taste of the product), dissolve all the sugar. After which we’ll turn up the heat a little stronger and simmer our jam to the desired consistency, about one and a half to two hours.

Separately, scald a whole lemon with boiling water, and then cut it into thin half-slices or cubes. 3-5 minutes before the end of cooking the jam you need to add lemon and cinnamon.

Let's prepare jars with a capacity of five hundred to seven hundred grams or one liter. First, wash them well with warm water and any suitable detergent, and then rinse them thoroughly in cool water. Afterwards, sterilize all prepared containers in the oven at 100 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

Pack the hot, finished jam into prepared heated glass jars and roll up with tin lids (boiled) or seal tightly with polypropylene (nylon) lids.

For storage, we will transfer such a workpiece, just like the one, to a cool place - a pantry or cellar, with a temperature of no more than 22-24 degrees.

To prepare a tasty and creamy apple jam we need:

  • apples -1 kg;
  • sugar - 700 gr;
  • cinnamon - 1/4 teaspoon;
  • water - 2 glasses.

How to make apple jam at home

Wash the apples, cut them into 4 parts, cut out the core, debris, and crumpled barrels. Peel the apple slices and place them in a separate container.

Weigh the peeled slices. Remember that the recipe requires 2 glasses of water for 1 kg of apples.

We put the slices into a container in which we will cook the jam. Ideally, this would be a thick-bottomed pan.

Fill the apple skins with the required amount of water and cook for 10 minutes. Pour the resulting broth into the apple slices. We throw away the skins. There will be a little liquid in the container with apple slices, but there is no need to add more. Pectin in apples is contained close to the skin, therefore, using a decoction of apple skins will increase the thickness of the jam.

Place the future jam on low heat and cook until completely softened.

Puree the boiled apple slices with a blender or you can rub them through a sieve.

Add sugar and cinnamon.

Stir and cook for 10 minutes after boiling. Don't forget to stir so it doesn't burn.

Immediately place the finished jam into sterile jars and leave to cool without covering with lids.

After cooling, seal and store in a cool place.

The apple jam turns out thick. As you can see in the photo, it does not leak from the baked goods. Simply an ideal preparation for baking pies and cheesecakes.

Use my simple step-by-step recipe and delicious apple jam will be on your table all winter. Bon appetit!
