Consequences of daily alcohol consumption. How long do alcoholic men live if they drink every day? A rhetorical question

Every person knows, but not everyone is able to fight this destructive habit. It’s not for nothing that some children ask themselves the global question of what to do if their dad drinks every day. For a family, this is a real tragedy if the husband drinks, since from now on she is considered a socially disadvantaged unit of society and is under the close control of social services. The prospect is not the most comforting, so the problem of male alcoholism needs to be solved at the family level.

Health implications

If a man drinks every day, his life expectancy is reduced by almost half. In addition, he will have to face serious health problems, which are fraught with chronic diagnoses, disability, and quick death. Alcohol is an explosive mixture of toxic substances that have a destructive effect on the liver and brain. Vital organs gradually atrophy, and extensive foci of necrosis first spoil a person’s appearance, then reduce performance, and then completely provoke disability with the risk of mortality.

If the father drinks in a family, it is possible that children will be born with serious illnesses. First, he quietly enters the store for another portion of alcohol, and after that he does not pass by this store for a day. A drunk dad is a moral injury for existing children and a hidden threat to future offspring. The problem is not only social, but also physiological in nature, since gene mutations, chromosomal abnormalities and congenital diseases are not excluded during the prenatal period. Not every representative of the stronger sex is able to admit: “I drink,” considering, at least on a subconscious level, such a bad habit as his greatest weakness.

When the father drinks at home, all household members should be mentally prepared for the following diseases of the male body:

Our regular reader shared an effective method that saved her husband from ALCOHOLISM. It seemed that nothing would help, there were several codings, treatment at a dispensary, nothing helped. An effective method recommended by Elena Malysheva helped. EFFECTIVE METHOD

  • one of the forms of hepatitis (most often toxic);
  • cirrhosis of the liver;
  • oncological diseases;
  • mental disorders, panic attacks;
  • heart failure;
  • fatty liver;
  • paralysis of limbs, body parts;
  • alcohol syndrome;
  • diagnosed infertility;
  • hormonal imbalance;
  • epilepsy.

If a man drinks daily, doctors also remind about the risks of delirium tremens, systematic alcoholic psychoses, withdrawal syndrome, visual and auditory hallucinations, autonomic disorders, and affective behavior. A person can get rid of such addiction, but first of all he must admit to himself: “I drink.” Ethyl alcohol negatively affects reproductive function, potency gradually decreases, so conflicts and scandals are guaranteed for family life.

Trauma for family and children

Family discord is the consequences of male alcoholism. The man no longer finds a common language with his household, and they, in turn, very soon lose their last drops of respect for him

One can only imagine how much valuable, important and useful a person loses in life if he starts drinking vodka every day. Such a man is a worthless husband and a disgusting parent, and there is no need to talk about respect for his once loving family. It's time to figure out how many problems await an alcoholic, how you can get rid of them, and is this even realistic? He is not lost yet, but he is already too close to the abyss.

Insignificance in one's own family. If a father drinks, the first thing that suffers is the growing children, and child violence in the family is possible. Alcohol disrupts mental activity, a person will degrade, and his internal fears and self-doubt will become more active. He goes to the store more and more often, spends money on alcohol, and returns home in an inadequate state. Alcohol will bring him to the very bottom, and the worst thing is: these fatal changes most often occur before the eyes of children. No woman needs such a husband, so she prefers to end the once romantic relationship and raise children herself in a healthy, adequate environment. A drunk man, unexpectedly for himself, finds himself on the sidelines of life, on the verge of falling into the abyss.

Family discord. The consequences of male alcoholism for the family are the most irreversible, and it does not matter what he drinks - vodka, wine, beer or cognac. The man does not find a common language with his household, and they, in turn, very soon lose their last drops of respect for him. This way you can lose your family and children, and spend the rest of your life in splendid isolation, visiting a store to buy alcoholic beverages. If he admits: “I drink,” he has every chance to soon return to his daily life. Awareness of your own mistakes directly affects your future destiny, so it is important not to miss this fateful moment for yourself, to finally stop going to the store.

Troubles in children's lives. If a person drinks vodka every day, his children and wife will be embarrassed. The younger generation will never be considered a role model, and the once loving spouse will be the first to refuse to live together. The consequences of first secret and then obvious trips to the store are obvious, so you can’t count on the help and participation of family and friends. When a father drinks, children avoid him, are embarrassed to show him to their peers, and very rarely invite friends home. Alcohol turns a man into an addict who strives for a new dose every day. Children have no place in his life, and they are not at all interested in such a degenerate parent.

A bad example is contagious. If a person continues to drink vodka day after day, sooner or later he will start sending his growing children to the store for a new dose. This example is dangerous for teenagers, since they may also become interested in what alcohol is and how exactly it affects the body. Childhood alcoholism is the scourge of our time; moreover, it is very difficult to get a schoolchild out of this state, no matter how much effort and time it takes to provide qualified assistance. That is why an adult should seriously think about what example he sets for children, what can be expected from the younger generation in the future. If you admit: “I drink” and don’t go to the store every day, this is the first step towards speedy recovery.

Family help for an alcoholic

If a wife threatens divorce, the drinking husband may become frightened and push this addiction into the background.

If a person admits that there is a lot of alcohol in his life, this is the first step to not drink. It is very difficult to cope with the problem that has arisen on your own, especially since there are plenty of such shops in every city. This is where you can take help from a family that also suffered greatly from male alcoholism. “I drink and get drunk” is the first phrase on the path to the desired healing.

When a husband systematically abuses alcohol, but does not do it every day, it is too early to contact Alcoholics Anonymous. First, the family needs to try to wean him from drinking, using a proven method of motivation. He must understand that alcohol is poison, and control his desires just as much as it takes to completely recover from addiction. A self-sufficient person can achieve this result, but moments of weakness during home treatment will still appear from time to time.

If a wife threatens divorce, the drinking husband will get scared and push this addiction into the background. He will try to save his family, and for this he will no longer drink every day. The start is not bad, however, you need to maintain the desired result and forget about visits to the store forever. As practice shows, this method only works if the husband, on a subconscious level, still values his family, loves his wife and hopes to maintain a good relationship with her. If a person renounces his household and chooses alcohol, the departure of his wife and children, alas, no longer stimulates him. He will never admit: “I drink,” so there can be no talk of recovery.

Some men can be brought out of binge drinking by extreme fright, for example, if after a long feast their general health suddenly deteriorates. He begins to fear the consequences and mentally promises himself not to drink anymore. How many cases are known when a husband becomes a teetotaler after a serious illness, the main thing is that the woman must turn the situation in her own interests, you can even intimidate him. The desire to drink and go to the store after such an attack will remain a thing of the past, and the once drunken husband will return to the family and take his head in hand. You can even call an ambulance so that he is generally afraid for his life and is afraid to take even a drop of vodka into his mouth.

If all these actions do not help, and alcohol completely displaces real life, you need to seek qualified help from specialists. The husband does not admit: “I drink,” but the doctors will contribute to his speedy recovery using conservative methods with preliminary hospitalization. There is no need to worry about his health, he will definitely recover, however, treatment takes a lot of effort, money and time. Alcohol is removed from the blood for a long time, and the patient is under the systems all this time. But according to the results, he will be an exemplary husband who, during any feast, will openly say: “I don’t drink.”

A woman will have to constantly monitor her unreliable husband, since there are enough such stores in every city. She will also have to say the control phrase: “I don’t drink” and not tempt her husband at the common table. Treatment for alcoholism is a family matter, since a drinking husband cannot cope with this disease on his own. It only remains to add that when such a problem arises, moral support should be felt in the family, since one phrase: “I don’t drink anymore” is not enough to overcome this terrible addiction.

By drinking alcohol, a person relaxes and his mood improves. Moreover, such an excellent relaxing remedy is on open sale.

If a person occasionally allows himself a glass or two, nothing bad happens. It is important not to miss the moment when the need for alcohol becomes daily. Gradually, a person becomes a slave to his habit, which leads to a terrible disease - alcoholism.

Stages of alcoholism

If urgent measures are not taken, addiction becomes more and more serious. Alcohol is involved in some metabolic cellular processes, so small doses of ethanol are synthesized by the body independently. This requires a significant amount of energy.

Receiving alcohol from the outside, the body happily mistakes it for doping and uses the released energy for other needs. By providing a daily supply of doping, a person trains his body not to produce the substance he needs. This is why it is so difficult to quit drinking: the body’s reaction to the absence of doping can be very acute.

Alcohol is needed by the body in a minimal amount, measured in nanograms. Large quantities act as a nerve poison.

The body reacts accordingly: the taste buds are very irritated, the person feels the taste of alcohol as quite sharp; the body turns on a defense mechanism and tries to get rid of the toxic substance through vomiting. At the first, easiest stage of alcoholism, these defensive reactions are turned off - there is no urge to vomit, and the taste of alcohol ceases to be unpleasant.

Small amounts of alcohol stop having an effect on a person, he begins to drink more alcohol in order to achieve a blissful state of euphoria. It’s worth thinking about what to do and whether you should continue drinking alcohol if you drank a lot at a party, and the next day you have memory problems.

The second stage of alcoholism is characterized by physiological addiction to alcohol. The body begins to demand alcohol, refusing to function normally. You can notice this stage by paying attention to the psycho-emotional state of a person: now alcohol brings a joyful and light state less and less often, no matter how much you drink. Most often, when such people drink, they become aggressive and irritable.

The third stage of alcoholism is characterized by personality degradation, irreversible changes in the brain, cardiovascular system and liver. Quite often, people, being in the last stage of the disease, attempt suicide.

The effect of daily alcohol consumption on the body

What will happen to a person if he starts drinking alcohol every day?

The destruction inflicted on one’s own body becomes more and more widespread over time. The liver, brain and heart are the first to be affected. Then problems begin with all organs and systems.

Liver

This organ is the first to take the blow, as it acts as a filter that passes and processes all toxic substances that enter the body. Ethanol is metabolized in liver cells, resulting in the formation of an even more toxic substance, acetaldehyde.

It affects liver cells in the most negative way, which is why many of them die. This process is called necrotic.

The liver tries to compensate for the lack of hepatocyte cells, so connective tissue begins to form. This process is called cirrhotic, and when extensive, it leads to cirrhosis.

Liver necrosis and cirrhosis are a very common cause of death in alcoholics. The liver can repair itself, but if a person drinks every day, he does not give it a chance to start its repair mechanisms.

The cardiovascular system

Leads to vasodilation. After some time, on the contrary, they narrow. Such pressure changes lead to weakening of the vascular walls, and hypertension and atherosclerosis develop.

Ethanol also has a negative effect on the heart muscle itself: muscle tissue wears out, becomes flabby, and is replaced by adipose tissue. How long it takes for irreversible changes to occur depends on how much and how often you drink alcohol. But each time a more and more sensitive blow is dealt to the heart.

Excretory system

Alcohol, like all other products, is processed and excreted from the body by the kidneys. At the same time, they are exposed to the toxic effects of ethanol and its metabolites. If you drink every day, the kidneys work to the limit of their capabilities.

Functioning in this mode leads to rapid wear and tear of organ tissue. The most harmful to the excretory system is the consumption of low-alcohol drinks in large quantities.

Nervous system

Under the influence of ethanol, neurons in the central nervous system die. If a person drinks daily, neuronal loss leads to irreversible changes in the psyche. The brain centers responsible for various functional capabilities of the body suffer, cognitive functions are disrupted: memory, perception, thinking, behavioral reactions.

Due to the negative effect of alcohol on blood vessels, normal blood supply to the brain is disrupted. As a result, edema develops and blood vessels may rupture. If one of the large vessels is damaged, a massive hemorrhage in the brain is possible - a hemorrhagic stroke.

Digestive system

The stomach is one of the first on the path of alcohol movement through the body. This is where the absorption of ethanol into the blood begins. This process has a significant negative impact on the condition of the gastric mucosa.

Drinking large doses of alcohol leads to dilation of the vessels of the esophagus and stomach, which, in turn, can cause their ruptures and massive gastric bleeding. This condition poses a direct threat to life. Alcohol also affects the intestines, spleen and pancreas, which also take part in the processing of ethyl alcohol.

Endocrine system

The organs of the endocrine system are more often affected by alcohol in the female body. Drinking alcohol affects the functioning of the adrenal glands, pituitary gland and thyroid gland, as a result of which less of some types of hormones are synthesized, and more of others.

Hormonal imbalance leads to serious changes in the behavior and appearance of the drinker. In the female body, the production of androgens increases, which leads to ovarian dysfunction, excessive hair growth, and changes in figure.

The male body, due to hormonal imbalance, can, on the contrary, react with hair loss and deposits of fatty tissue in areas characteristic of a female body type. Due to hormonal imbalance, the reproductive system does not function properly.

Vision

As a result of vasodilation under the influence of alcohol, changes in cranial and intraocular pressure occur, which negatively affects the condition of the tissues and blood vessels of the eye and the functioning of the visual analyzer. Under regular exposure to ethanol, the oculomotor muscles atrophy and the conductivity of the optic nerve fibers is disrupted.

Over time, the changes become irreversible; the progression of atrophy of the muscles and tissues of the eye can lead to a significant decrease in visual acuity.

External signs of a drinking person

Regular consumption of alcohol leaves an imprint on your appearance. If you drink it daily, you can get bags under your eyes due to insufficient kidney function. As a result of ethanol damaging small vessels, the nose becomes red or bluish, the eye sclera is constantly subject to small hemorrhages, which makes them red and inflamed.

Due to hormonal disruptions and the leaching of vitamins along with alcohol, hair and nails become brittle. Withdrawal symptoms do not allow a person to get up and put himself in order; he has no desire to pay attention to his appearance. Therefore, an alcoholic can often be recognized by external signs.

How long do alcoholics live?

How long can a person live if he drinks alcohol every day?

According to medical statistics, alcoholics rarely reach the age of 55. People most often die from chronic diseases acquired through alcohol abuse.

In most cases, these are diseases of the heart, blood vessels, and liver. Studies have shown that women become dependent on alcohol faster than men. However, the male body wears out faster due to the greater amount of alcohol consumed. If a woman, having become an alcoholic, lived for 40-45 years, she looks and feels much more mature.

If a man has been drinking for five to ten years, drinking alcohol every day, he may not look like a debilitated alcoholic, but he is more likely to die from cirrhosis of the liver or a heart attack. Of course, it matters how much alcohol you drink, but even a bottle of beer every day will sooner or later lead to irreversible processes in the body.

In addition, alcoholics tend to increase their dose. After some time, the bottle turns into two, three, and so on.

The life expectancy of an alcoholic is determined not only by the number and severity of acquired diseases. While intoxicated, a person finds himself in various life-threatening situations.

He can freeze to death on the street, die in a self-inflicted fire or domestic gas explosion, receive injuries incompatible with life in a drunken fight, or choke on his own vomit.

The life of drinkers does not belong to them, so it is worth considering whether it is possible to drink alcohol every day. Everyone decides for themselves what to do with their life, how much to drink and how often.

Changes in social life and advertising in the media have led to increased consumption of beer, especially among young people. Every alcohol lover needs to know whether he can drink and in what quantities, as well as what the consequences of drinking it may be.

What happens if you drink beer every day?

Beer is becoming increasingly popular among alcohol lovers; many new producers and types of foamy drink are appearing. In this regard, quality control is reduced and the risk of adverse consequences for the human body increases. In pursuit of profit, companies use a large number of preservatives, dyes and other various chemicals. Drink lovers need to know what will happen if they drink beer every day.

The main danger of consuming any type of alcohol is the increased risk of developing alcohol dependence. Traditionally, beer is consumed in large quantities. If other alcoholic drinks are drunk in volumes measured in hundreds of grams, then beer is drunk in glasses and the amount drunk is measured in liters. This cannot but affect the functioning of human internal organs:

  1. The strain on the heart resulting from the need to pump large amounts of fluid leads to increased blood pressure. The carbon dioxide contained in this type of alcohol helps to increase the absorption of ethyl alcohol into the blood, so its lovers have heart sizes much larger than the average. Excessive drinking of beer leads to the development of angina pectoris, coronary heart disease and increases the risk of myocardial infarction.
  2. Products resulting from fermentation, including carbon dioxide, irritate the gastric mucosa, and this causes an increase in acidity, which can cause the development of gastroenterological diseases, and in some cases cause the appearance of a cancerous tumor.
  3. Regular and excessive consumption of beer leads to the fact that toxic substances from the alcoholic drink enter the kidneys, and the diuretic properties lead to increased stress on the organ. An excessive amount of fluid is removed from the body and both harmful and beneficial substances are removed along with it, and dehydration also occurs. Excessive consumption of this type of alcohol provokes the development of inflammatory processes in the bladder and a decrease in the functional capacity of the kidneys and urinary tract.

Harm to men

Due to the fact that men are the main consumers of foamy alcohol, they should know whether drinking beer every day is harmful and what the possible consequences are:

  1. With regular consumption of large quantities of this alcohol, beer drinking may develop.
  2. The production of the male hormone, testosterone, decreases, and the amount of the female hormone, on the contrary, increases. As a result, fat deposits appear in various areas of the body, and the figure becomes more feminine. Erectile dysfunction and decreased libido may develop.
  3. In the male body, blood vessels dilate, and hypertension and varicose veins are possible.
  4. The liver and kidneys, which suffer more than other organs, are subject to increased stress; the development of hepatitis or cirrhosis can be triggered.

Harm to women

There is a difference between women and men not only at the physiological, but also at the emotional level; as a result of alcohol abuse, the voice and character become rougher

Drinking beer every day is harmful, even if it is to relieve stress or fatigue, since the breakdown of alcohol in the female body is much slower than in the male:

  1. If a woman drinks a lot of beer, the skin becomes dry and pigmentation disorders appear. As a result of vitamin deficiency, hair becomes dull and nails yellowish.
  2. Alcohol consumption causes liver disease, which is a filter for the blood and toxic substances accumulate in it.
  3. The presence of female hormones in a foamy drink in large quantities can become a factor in the development of malignant tumors.
  4. Alcohol has a negative effect on a woman’s reproduction, causes mental illness, and contributes to the development of obesity.
  5. Women are more likely than men to develop alcohol dependence.

How to recognize addiction and how to treat it

Many lovers of drinking foamy alcohol suffer from alcoholism to varying degrees. There are symptoms of beer alcoholism that are slightly different from standard alcohol addiction:

  • Beer alcoholics have a loose body;
  • signs of excess weight appear;
  • breathing becomes noisy and heavy;
  • bags form under the eyes;
  • the face takes on a bluish tint;
  • there is a constant feeling of weakness and problems with erection, reproductive function suffers;
  • The man constantly smells of acetone; this is a sign of malfunction of the pancreas and indicates an increase in glucose levels in the person’s blood.

It is not difficult to recognize the symptoms of psychological addiction:

  • gradually increasing the dose in order to obtain the same effect;
  • frequent consumption of a foamy drink and in large volumes, every day 2 liters or more;
  • a break in drinking alcohol causes aggression and irritability;
  • after drinking alcohol, memory is lost;
  • control over oneself is lost, drinking occurs under any circumstances and at any time of the day;
  • morning hangover cravings.

Constant headaches, swelling in various places, and bowel irregularities may also occur.

Treatment of beer alcoholism is a complex and time-consuming process. It must be carried out with the help of a psychologist and a narcologist. The first step is awareness and acceptance of alcohol addiction. Various drugs are used to reduce cravings for alcohol, cause alcohol intolerance and alleviate the symptoms of a hangover.

Steps to help you overcome alcohol addiction:

  • consistently reduce the dose of consumed foamy drink;
  • change your lifestyle, pay more attention to sports activities, walks, spend maximum time with your family;
  • You can motivate your refusal to drink alcohol by putting aside saved funds for more important and pleasant purposes.

Safe beer limit

If beer is consumed in small quantities, then thanks to the vitamins and various beneficial substances contained in the drink, it can have a positive effect. 1 liter of low-alcohol beer, drunk at a time and with an appropriate snack, can be considered harmless. People who drink beer and then can’t help themselves and violate the alcohol limit are better off completely abstaining from drinking.

There are no reasons that justify the daily consumption of alcohol, because even a small amount of such drinks leads to the development of alcoholism and degradation of the human personality. The result of daily libations is persistent alcohol addiction, which deprives a person of everything:

  • self-esteem;
  • willpower;
  • families;
  • of real friends;
  • determination.

An alcoholic no longer has the desire to achieve anything in his life; he has no life goals that he would like to achieve. This happens because vodka gradually kills the adequate person in him. Such people are often dangerous to others; they drive freely while drunk, commit terrible accidents, and become the instigators of attacks, fights and disputes. Some alcoholics repent the next morning when they remember what they did while drunk.

If the head of a family drinks vodka every day, then soon, as practice shows, he becomes poor, homeless, a forgotten alcoholic, without a family, children and other half, useless to anyone. Therefore, if you notice that you have begun to particularly enjoy drinking every day, it is worth checking for alcohol dependence at the initial stage. It is very important to admit this yourself at the beginning of a serious illness, rather than lose everything later.

Is it harmful to drink water every day?

Daily abuse is a direct road to alcoholism, which develops gradually. At first, the drinker does not even notice that his protective reactions to alcohol-containing drinks have disappeared. If previously, as a result of vodka abuse, nausea and vomiting syndrome occurred, now with such a dosage there is no discomfort. Some not entirely knowledgeable people even boast about this fact, although there is little good here, since this is the first stage of alcoholism.

The aversion to vodka gradually disappears, and the dose required for euphoria and intoxication steadily increases. The body literally sends a signal to a novice alcoholic about the danger of memory lapses and causeless pain in the most unexpected organs. But often even such signs do not suggest that addiction has begun, although it becomes increasingly difficult for a person to control the process of drinking alcohol.

At the next stage, the drinker can no longer imagine life without vodka. The body of such an alcoholic no longer has enough alcohol to function normally. A dependent person becomes irritable and angry, ready to go to any extreme for the sake of a “little white” bottle. Memory lapses become normal; after abuse, withdrawal syndrome appears, which becomes the cause of multi-day binges. If the addict begins to reduce the dose at this stage, he usually begins to experience some kind of withdrawal symptoms that make it difficult to get rid of the addiction. To avoid this situation, it is extremely important to control the frequency and amount of alcohol consumed.

The main and most dangerous consequence of daily alcohol consumption is alcoholism, the stages of development of which were discussed above. In the process of developing alcohol dependence, the entire body is damaged:

  • contributes to the occurrence of liver and kidney pathologies, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, vascular system and heart;
  • has a detrimental effect on the activity of the central nervous system;
  • reduces a person’s mental abilities;
  • leads to exhaustion of physical strength.

With daily consumption of 05 liters of vodka, gradual toxic damage to brain cells occurs, which subsequently causes alcoholic dementia and psychosis. Alcohol-dependent people do not even notice how they gradually develop various kinds of disorders of thinking, attention, memory, their personality gradually degrades, accompanied by emotional dullness and alcoholic psychoses.

In addition to nervous system disorders, individuals dependent on vodka experience the appearance of various neuritis of alcoholic etiology, such as:

  • paralysis of limbs;
  • plexitis (inflammation of the plexus of spinal nerves);
  • radiculitis;
  • inflammatory lesions of peripheral nerves.

If you consume a lot of vodka, it will also affect your stomach. Alcoholic drinks burn the gastric mucosa, causing it to become inflamed and hypertrophied. As a result, gastritis occurs. Vodka has a similar effect on the intestinal mucosa, leading to the development of various colitis.

Alcohol also has a detrimental effect on the liver. All the organ’s capabilities are used to neutralize the toxic effects of alcohol. If this happens constantly, then the liver cells begin to die, hepatitis and liver cirrhosis form. The heart also suffers from alcoholic drinks. Its contractions become weaker, the myocardium becomes flabby, undergoes dystrophic changes and becomes covered with a layer of fat, increasing in size.

You shouldn’t ask the series question, what will happen if you drink vodka every day. After all, the answer is short and simple - nothing good. Daily drinkers are concerned about:

  1. constant heart pain;
  2. pulmonary congestion;
  3. dyspnea;
  4. severe swelling;
  5. angina changes in the heart;
  6. frequent and strong heartbeat;
  7. insufficient blood circulation, etc.

In addition, daily doses of vodka disrupt the course of metabolic processes, which leads to the development of atherosclerotic vascular deposits. As a result, blood flow is disrupted and hypertension develops, often ending in cardiac infarction or cerebral hemorrhage. In general, daily alcohol abuse has a detrimental effect on all internal organs and, of course, body systems.

Lethal dose of alcohol

Despite the obvious destructive and irreversible harm of vodka, many argue that if the dose is moderate when consuming it, then alcohol will not cause harm and will even be beneficial. A lot of research and debate has been and is being carried out on this matter, and there are a lot of different opinions. But do not deceive yourself, vodka is the enemy of humanity, and there is no need to look for useful excuses in its consumption. Its abuse gradually leads to death.

Studies have shown that a person who drinks a half-liter bottle of vodka daily injects himself with half the lethal dose of this drink. Scientists have found that the amount of lethal alcohol is about 5.5-6 ppm. A bottle of vodka (0.5 l) contains 2.5 ppm. It follows that if you drink a liter or a half of vodka in a short time, it will lead to the death of even a person in excellent health.

Vodka is a dangerous enemy of motherhood

Another negative aspect of alcohol abuse is the birth of sick children from alcohol-dependent or abusing people. Unfortunately, the statistics are merciless; they confirm that even if a drinking girl has undergone a course of anti-alcohol therapy, she still has virtually no chance of giving birth to a healthy baby. This picture is caused by the consequences of alcohol abuse, which are associated with liver and heart diseases. In addition, women who drink often have disrupted menstrual cycles and a tendency to experience early menopause.

Alcohol damages sexual and reproductive functions in women

Vodka damages sexual and reproductive functions in women no more than in men, causing deterioration in sperm quality and the development of impotence in most of them. In women who abuse vodka, ethyl alcohol affects the eggs, which develop even before birth. In the future, this is fraught with frozen pregnancy, the birth of stillborn babies, spontaneous miscarriages, etc. Scientists explain this by saying that the body affected by ethyl alcohol considers the newborn fetus as foreign and unviable, so the female body seeks to get rid of it. In general, if a woman who does not have children drinks vodka every day, then most likely she will no longer have offspring.

Even if a woman becomes pregnant, and the pregnancy proceeds quite calmly, this is far from a guarantee that the born child will be healthy, since women suffering from alcoholism do not give up their addiction even during pregnancy. In medicine, there is such a thing as fetal alcohol syndrome, which implies the presence of congenital cardiac anomalies, nervous system disorders, defects in the formation of the genital organs, significant delay in physical and mental development, low birth weight, etc.

Vodka during pregnancy

The risk of developing congenital disorders in the fetus increases in accordance with the amount of vodka consumed during pregnancy. The fact is that the placenta, which protects the fetus from many harmful and dangerous external influences, is not able to protect the child from ethyl alcohol. Alcohol easily penetrates the fetal body, especially the brain. It is excreted only by the liver, which in an unborn baby is formed only in the middle of pregnancy. Experts identify critical stages of embryonic development, during which the fetus is most sensitive to the toxic effects of alcohol. If during that period the expectant mother drinks vodka, then there is a high probability of fetal death or inhibition of its development.

If, despite all the abuse of the mother, the child is born alive, then his life will most likely be overshadowed by the drunkenness of his parents. If a baby born to alcoholics is healthy, then he will suffer every day from the drunkenness of his mother, father, or both. If drinking during pregnancy does affect the fetus, then children are often born epileptic, weak-minded, with congenital heart defects, limb defects, etc.

Let's summarize. Alcohol gives only evil to a person dependent on it. Lost health, emotional stupefaction, alcoholic dementia, virtually no thinking and intellectual abilities, lack of family and true friends, an unemployed poor existence, old age at a young age and premature death - these benefits are guaranteed by daily abuse of vodka. Therefore, before you drink another glass of poison, think about whether you need it.

Next news

The other day, the people of sunny Moldova rejoiced: the country’s parliament officially declared that wine is not alcohol. Consequently, you can drink it anytime and anywhere, and winemakers will succeed. "360" asked the question whether it is possible to drink every day and not become an alcoholic. We refrained from experimenting on ourselves, but turned to a narcologist and sommelier for advice.

An alcoholic is not because he drinks

Proponents of a healthy lifestyle often fear for their drinking friends, arguing that if they drink even a little, but regularly, then things are bad. However, psychiatrist and narcologist Oleg Stetsenko believes that as long as a person has a reasonable hedonistic attitude towards alcohol, there is no particular reason for concern.

“An alcoholic is not an alcoholic because he drinks, but he drinks because he is an alcoholic. Alcoholism is a disease in which a person regularly needs a state of altered consciousness. If an addict is deprived of alcohol, he will begin to perform other “addictive” actions - gambling, drinking tranquilizers. A person without addiction will feel normal both with and without alcohol,” the doctor said.

Are you afraid of getting drunk? So far so good

According to Stetsenko, for a person with an emerging alcohol addiction, the goal is not the taste of alcohol, not the atmosphere, not its gastronomic compatibility, but the state of alcohol intoxication itself.

For the addict, the goal is a state of altered consciousness. If you don't want to get drunk or are afraid of getting very drunk, you are unlikely to set such a goal for yourself. If you drink regularly, but alcohol is not a “drug” for you to change consciousness, everything is fine

- psychiatrist and narcologist Oleg Stetsenko.

A little bit is almost not harmful

If you drink alcohol for the sake of taste and gastronomic pleasure, it’s okay, says Stetsenko. Drinking wisely and a little at a time, albeit often, is acceptable, but this very “slightly” may seem like a mockery to a Russian person.

“25-30 grams of strong alcohol or 150 grams of weak alcohol per evening is normal. Alcohol, of course, is harmful, but living in a metropolis is also harmful. A lot of things are harmful. The problem is different - in our country the usual evening “norm” often starts at 150 grams. We are, of course, talking about strong alcohol. Tell me, how often can you eat meat? You don’t need to eat two kilograms at a time!” - says the doctor.

But there is another opinion. Director of the Sommelier School, writer Erkin Tuzmukhamedov believes that a relatively harmless dose is half a gram of pure alcohol per kilogram of weight. Therefore, if you weigh about 100 kilograms, you can drink a couple of beers, a little less than a bottle of wine or about 125 grams of whiskey. At the same time, for women this norm is divided in half, says the sommelier.

Drink - eat

Tuzmukhamedov is sure that snacking is very important, but the most important thing here is to choose the right food, and not “just anything.”

When you drink, you need vitamins more than ever. Many of them help break down alcohol. Be sure to have a snack. The bigger, the better

If you have minor problems with your stomach and digestion, it is better not to abuse it, but this does not mean that you need to give up alcohol completely. You should drink only strong drinks, but not much, and eat food that is suitable for your situation, says the sommelier. For most stomach problems, avoid carbonated drinks such as beer, cocktails and sparkling wine.

Don't fool yourself

A variety of popular life hacks, for example, deliberately eating butter or lard before a feast, are unlikely to save you if you are determined to “get drunk.” According to Stetsenko, all such manipulations are slyness and “decorative cosmetology for a boxer.”

“The influence of two bottles of vodka can hardly be “removed” at once, and those “fifty grams” won’t make you feel bad,” the doctor reminds.

However, in his opinion, there is no benefit to alcohol, except perhaps for psychological satisfaction. The doctor reminds that even “for blood vessels” and “shine of the eyes” should not be abused.
