For real men

The recipe for homemade moonshine tincture on oak bark allows you to obtain alcohol with qualities similar to industrial cognac.

Strawberry mash is a product that ultimately helps create a distillate with a pleasant, soft berry aroma and a light, sweet aftertaste. It is no secret that berries and fruits contain fructose, and yeast fungi will process it into alcohol.

Alcohol on strawberries

Strawberry moonshine turns out excellent, it is easy and pleasant to drink. But in order to get a truly high-quality product at home, you should know a few simple secrets. They will help produce a delicious drink with excellent characteristics.

Strawberry moonshine: all the pros and cons

Strawberry cakes or jam made from this berry are a taste from childhood. But not only children, but also adults love sweets. For this reason, moonshine, made from berries and fruits, is incredibly popular among those who like to make distillate.

But strawberry alcohol is not as simple as it seems. During its manufacture you may encounter certain problems.

Strawberry moonshine and its features:

  • Questions may arise at the initial stage of creating mash. The thing is that strawberries contain fructose, and not pure sugar, for this reason the yield of distillate from such a mash will be small.
  • To increase the quantity of the drink, sugar is added to the base. But sugar has a certain effect on the taste and aroma of alcohol. For this reason, it is worth observing the proportions if you want to preserve the unique smell of strawberries.
  • Yeast can also affect the quality of moonshine. If you add dry or pressed ones to the mash, it will be ready in about 5–10 days. And if you put the wort on wild yeast, then you can start distilling in about 30–40 days. But the distillate prepared with wild yeast will have good characteristics.

You can start preparing the mash as soon as the ingredients are ready. You'll have to work a little with the proportions, but otherwise the requirements for the brew are standard.

Making strawberry moonshine

To prepare a high-quality drink, you will need the following components:

  1. Strawberries or strawberries - 5-6 kg.
  2. Sugar - from 1 to 3 kg (it is not recommended to add more sugar, since the taste of alcohol may suffer as a result).
  3. 3 liters of water, if you add sugar, the amount of liquid increases (make sure that the total volume of water does not exceed 15 liters).
  4. 15–20 grams of dry yeast or 75–100 grams of pressed yeast.
  5. You can add 100–150 grams of raisins to the wort.

The recipe is not particularly complicated. You can look at it in more detail to make it clearer to beginners and inexperienced moonshiners.

So, the stages of creating a mash:

  • You should start by preparing the berries; you don’t need to wash them, you can simply wipe them, remove the stems and inspect the strawberries for rot and mold. If the berries have these bad signs, then we remove the damaged areas and turn the fruits into puree.
  • At the next stage, mix water and sugar. Heat the water to a temperature of 50 degrees and add sugar there. Stir it thoroughly with a spoon or wooden spatula. If the recipe does not include the use of sugar, then you should not heat the water.
  • When the sugar has completely dissolved and the water has cooled to 30 degrees, add strawberries, or rather the puree made from them, into the solution. Mix everything thoroughly again and add yeast to the wort.
  • It is advisable to prepare the yeast for use in advance: it should be diluted in a small amount of water, and when the microorganisms “come to life”, send it straight to the mash. Mix the wort thoroughly and place under a water seal.

Depending on the type of yeast, the fermentation process will last from 5 to 60 days. Afterwards, the finished mash can be distilled in a distiller.

Making moonshine from strawberries

Before sending the wort into the still, you should pass it through several layers of gauze. It is better to repeat the procedure several times. Distill the product in a moonshine still; when the strength in the stream drops to 30 degrees, stop sampling.

We will distill the moonshine twice, this will help improve its quality. At the second stage, we use fractional distillation, that is, we divide the alcohol into fractions to ultimately obtain a high-quality product.

Division into factions implies cutting off heads and tails. It is advisable to clean the drink before re-distilling. You can use activated carbon, milk, or give preference to another cleaning method.

Just do not resort to potassium permanganate, since the crystals of this substance can affect the taste and smell of the distillate.

Principles of fractional distillation:

  1. We cut off the heads - this is about 10% of the total volume of the distillate that is distilled.
  2. Then we proceed to the selection of the body - high-quality moonshine, which will subsequently be used for its intended purpose.
  3. When the strength in the stream drops to 40 degrees, we begin collecting the tails. They can be poured into the next brew.

Alcohol, which has gone through two distillations, has a high strength of 60–70 degrees. It can be diluted with water or used to create noble drinks.

Despite the fact that the recipe for strawberry moonshine is not particularly complicated, it can be used to obtain a high-quality product. There is no shame in putting such a drink on the table and treating guests to it.

Summer time is the time to make preparations from fresh fruits and berries using moonshine. Homemade strawberry liqueur has a pleasant aroma and wonderful taste. The drink can be made low-alcohol, suitable for sorority. A fairly strong version will bring pleasure to the stronger sex.

Classic recipe

Ripe strawberries must be thoroughly rinsed under running water, then placed in a sieve or colander to remove excess moisture. Prepared strawberries green stalks should be removed.

Place the fruits in an enamel or glass wide container (basin) and cover with granulated sugar, counting on adding 600 g of sweetness to each kilogram of strawberries. Cover the dishes with a towel to protect against flies. Set aside the product without stirring for a day to allow the juice to release.

After a day, you need to strain the liquid and fill it with a strength of 45-50°. For every kg of berries you will need 1 liter of good alcohol. It is recommended to infuse the alcoholic drink in cool and dark conditions for 1.5 months.

Second version of this recipe:

  • peeled strawberries should be poured with 1 liter of moonshine, adding 400-500 g of sugar to each kg of fruit;
  • infusion is carried out under the same conditions, but the container must be shaken regularly for better saturation;
  • after 1 month, the strawberry liqueur is filtered through a gauze filter;
  • After ripening (1-2 weeks), the alcoholic drink is ready for drinking.

The strength of the final alcoholic product is 25-30°.

How to prepare the original tincture?

Strawberries need to be sorted, removing spoiled and overripe. Wash the fruits, carefully removing dirt and debris. Place the berries on a towel and dry so that each strawberry is dry. Carefully separate the stems, being careful not to squeeze out the juice.

To prepare the tincture, pour into a three-liter glass jar:

  • 1 liter of prepared fruits;
  • 800 g sugar, without mixing the layers;
  • pour purified moonshine (50-60°) over the food so that the liquid reaches the shoulders of the jar;
  • roll up hermetically with an iron lid;
  • put in a dark cellar for 4 months.

The finished drink should be drunk chilled; there is no need to remove the berries. The approximate strength of the resulting alcohol is 30-38°.

Drink without added moonshine

The alcohol-free liqueur is ideal for sorority. The strength of the aromatic product is only 12-17°.

For 2 kg of ripe strawberries you need to take 800 g of sugar. Mix the raw materials and, after releasing the juice, leave in a warm place for fermentation. When abundant foam appears on the surface, you should pull a medical glove over the neck, after making a small hole with a needle on 1-3 fingers.

At the end of fermentation, the liquid should be strained and the berries squeezed out. Strawberry alcohol must be bottled and left to mature (1-2 months).

It’s not at all difficult to make delicious strawberries, but the aroma of a homemade alcoholic drink will remind you of summer.

Delicious strawberries saturate the body with valuable substances, strengthen the immune system and give vigor and vitality. And homemade strawberry tincture has the properties and, in moderate quantities, will help get rid of many health problems.

To prepare the tincture, we take only good berries without damage.

Basic rules for preparing a berry drink

Traditional, original and simply favorite recipes are popular among people for homemade strawberry liqueurs, which differ in the compositional set of components, method of preparation, and the condition for preserving the finished drink. But all these recipes share basic rules that must be followed in the process of making the product.

  1. To prepare a quality drink, you should use only homemade fruits. Instead of strawberries, you can use strawberries as a base, which will shorten the infusion period of the drink. Choose fruits that are ripe, but not overripe, without signs of plant disease or mold. Before cooking, the raw materials must be washed well and the stalks removed, otherwise the strawberry tincture will acquire an unpleasant earthy taste.
  2. When infusing alcohol on fruits, you should use a wide transparent glass container with a tight-fitting lid, which is not recommended to be opened, shaken, mixed and transferred more often than expected, in order to avoid deterioration of the taste of the product.
  3. During the infusion process, the container with the contents should be in a room with a temperature within 18-25 degrees. Failure to comply with the temperature regime can negatively affect the taste characteristics of the liqueurs.
  4. It is not recommended to store the finished drink in large containers, as over time it will lose its taste and aroma. Therefore, it is better to use a sealed glass container with a volume of 0.5 liters or 1 liter.
