What to cook from frozen fruits. Unusual desserts made from frozen berries

Freezing today is no less popular type of preparation than conservation. Frozen berries retain most of the microelements and vitamins. If you have already frozen berries, then you know that berries cannot be re-frozen. Therefore, at one time you need to defrost as much as you need for one serving. Do not defrost quickly. It is better to leave the berries at room temperature, then they will retain their original taste.

Frozen berries will go well with various dairy products: cottage cheese, kefir, yogurt. They are very healthy and tasty, so many doctors recommend including them in your diet in winter.

What can you cook from frozen berries? Almost everything is fresh. Of course, you can simply sprinkle them with sugar and eat them or make compote from them. But then they will lose all useful vitamins and substances. We offer you several recipes that use frozen berries.

Sorbet

If you want an original and tasty dessert, prepare sorbet. Sorbet is ice cream with a fruit and berry base. This ice cream is not only tasty, but also healthy, and most importantly, low-calorie, since it does not contain milk or egg yolks.

To prepare sorbet, you will need: 1 orange, 2 lemons, 3-4 cups of strawberries, 1 cup of sugar and a third of a glass of water.

Peel the citrus fruits and squeeze the juice out of them. Rub the zest on a fine grater. Pour water, sugar into a small bowl, add zest and bring to a boil over high heat. As soon as the mixture boils, turn down the heat and cook for another five minutes. Then remove from the stove and let it cool. Add the prepared orange and lemon juice to the cooled mixture. Grind the strawberries in a blender, add the syrup and mix everything carefully.

Pour the resulting berry-citrus mixture into freezing molds and place in the freezer. The popsicle will be ready in approximately 6-7 hours.

If ice cream is not your thing, then make a drink with frozen berries - a smoothie. This is a cocktail of iced fruits or berries, to which milk, yogurt or juice is added.

Our smoothie recipe will include yogurt, orange juice and frozen strawberries (you can use absolutely any berries you like). In a blender, mix a glass of yogurt (it is better to use natural yogurt), a third of a glass of orange juice, 8-9 frozen strawberries and sugar (to taste).

This drink is served in a tall transparent glass, which is garnished with mint or a slice of lemon (you can take an orange).
