Raise the edge of the table with the wide side of the gutter. Place a basin under the low end of the table so that the berries that roll down fall into it. Pour blueberries onto the wide end of the gutter and let them roll into the basin, while removing the leaves and twigs.

These two methods are the most common. They say that you can blow away the dirt in the wind or with a vacuum cleaner. But I have never seen how this is done.

If more than two days have passed since the berries were picked, it is better to cook the jam. I do this: I place the berries and sugar in a bowl in layers, the top layer is always sugar. I also maintain the proportions 1:1. I leave it for 12 hours. Then I cook it over low heat. I bring it to a boil, boil for about 15 minutes. Then cool it. I boil again and cook for 15 minutes. I pour boiling blueberry jam into sterile jars, you can roll them up with metal lids. I cool it and put it away for storage.


Five-minute blueberry jam, simple recipe

To prepare you will need:

  • blueberries – 2 kg;
  • granulated sugar – 1 kg;

Preparation

  1. You need to start cooking by processing the collected berries. They contain a large number of leaves, twigs and various debris. It is necessary to remove all the leaves that come across by pouring the berries from handful to handful (they can stick to the berries, so you need to carefully inspect the fruits).
  2. Then the berries must be filled with water and all debris that floats to the surface must be removed. After this, the berries are placed in a colander and washed well under running water.
  3. When the water has drained, add the specified amount of sugar to the blueberries and mix thoroughly. As soon as the berries have given juice, put the berries in an enamel bowl on the stove and, stirring, wait for them to boil. When stirring, remove the noise generated.
  4. Let our jam simmer for 5 minutes until the berries become soft. If you need to get jelly-like jam, add jellyfix mixed with sugar in the proportion indicated on the package and cook for a couple more minutes.
  5. While the jam is being prepared, it is necessary to prepare containers for preservation - jars. They must be thoroughly washed with baking soda, turned over on a paper towel and allowed to drain.
  6. When the water has drained, place the jars upside down on a special sterilizer or kettle with a suitable size hole and hold the jars for 7 minutes over boiling water.
  7. Lids, like jars, must be sterilized. They need to be boiled in a container of water so that the water completely covers them, remove them using tweezers, place them on a paper towel, and let them dry.
  8. As soon as the preparation of the jam is finished, pour it into jars using a large spoon, cover with lids and seal with a special machine for preserving food.
  9. The sealed jars must be turned over and wrapped in a warm blanket overnight, or until the jam has cooled completely. It is better to put paper under the lids of the jars to check the tightness and prevent damage or leakage of the product, because the jars are often chipped, the lids and the machine may be defective.
  10. When the blueberry jam has cooled completely, turn the jars over and store them in the darkest place in the house.

This jam can be stored for several years, but to be calm, you can add an additional preservative - citric acid - at the last stage of cooking. 0.5 teaspoon will be enough. It will not only allow the jam to retain its properties longer, but will also give it a unique taste.

The dishes are placed on the stove. In this case, you need to turn on the highest possible fire. The liquid is brought to a full boil. After this, the fire is reduced.

Then cook the fruits for another 10-15 minutes. The entire mass is filtered through gauze folded in several layers. Add granulated sugar to the still hot mixture (150 grams of sugar per 150 grams of blueberries and 1 liter of water).

The berry mass must be thoroughly mixed so that all the sugar is completely dissolved in it. Wait until the fruit drink has cooled down. After this, pour the blueberry juice into it.

Dilute the liquid a little with mineral water, and then serve the finished drink to the table.

Fresh blueberry juice with cinnamon

First, the berries are washed well with cold water. They are then squeezed out using a fine-hole sieve. The surviving berries are placed in a bowl and filled with hot water. Pour regular granulated sugar (0.5 cups per 1 cup of product) and vanilla sugar (2 teaspoons) into this mass.
