Products:

  • Beets – 2 pcs.;

  • Chicken eggs – 2 pcs.;
  • Mayonnaise – 1 package.


Using a coarse grater, grate pre-boiled vegetables and eggs. Onions and herring fillets should be cut into small cubes.


Before grating the beets, cut thin long strips. We will use them later for decoration.


Let's start assembling the salad

Pour boiling water over the onion for a few minutes. This is done in order to remove excess sharpness. Alternatively, you can pre-marinate it in vinegar.


Place part of the herring on a beautiful plate, cover it with a layer of onion and make a mayonnaise mesh.

A layer of eggs is made.

Make a layer of potatoes again.
Add a carrot layer. Next you need to tamp the salad a little with a spoon.

We are used to preparing herring under a fur coat in large presentation plates, but you can move away from traditional serving and cook it in portions.

Products:

  • Boiled potatoes – 5 pcs.;
  • Carrots – 1 pc.;
  • Herring – 150 – 200 g;
  • Onion – 1 pc.;
  • Beetroot – 1 pc.;
  • Eggs – 2 pcs.;
  • Mayonnaise.

Mash the potatoes until pureed. We take round molds, line them with cling film and place the potatoes there, forming boats out of them.


Tamp well, straighten the puree, and remove from the mold. We remove the film. The boats are ready.


We put them in the refrigerator so that they cool a little and become denser.


You need to shape the potatoes before they have time to cool, so they are more plastic. If you don’t have a suitable shape at hand, you can use small bowls, cups or other containers.

Vegetables and eggs are grated on a coarse grater. The herring is cut into cubes and mixed with chopped onion.


Take the boats out of the refrigerator and squeeze a little mayonnaise onto their bottom. Lay out layers - herring,



carrots, beets, greasing them with mayonnaise.


The boats can be coated with beet juice to give them a red color.


We make a grid of mayonnaise and decorate with herbs.

We immediately prepare all the products: grate carrots, beets, potatoes and eggs on a fine grater, cut herring fillets and onions into very small cubes.
