Ingredients:

  • 12 pieces frozen strawberries;
  • 100 grams of glutinous rice flour;
  • 200 milliliters of clean water;
  • 50 grams of corn or potato starch;
  • different types of ice cream;
  • 150 grams of sugar.

  1. In order to prepare a Japanese dessert, it is necessary to use glutinous rice flour: not just rice flour, but glutinous one.
  2. Ice cream can be of any flavor and color: choose according to your taste preferences.
  3. To work with ice cream, you will need a special spoon: it is convenient to make round balls.
  4. We will also need paper cups, which are used for muffins.
  5. Let's move on to forming ice cream balls: dip a spoon in boiling water, take the ice cream and put strawberries in the very center, pressing them in. Remove the excess ice cream with a knife and place the ball in a paper mold.
  6. Form all the ice cream balls in this way and put them in the refrigerator or freezer: it is necessary for them to freeze.
  7. I send it for about an hour, but you look at your freezer: the main thing is that the balls freeze well.
  8. Let's move on to preparing the dough for our dessert. First, spread parchment paper on the work table and sprinkle it with starch.
  9. Pour the glutinous rice flour into a microwave-safe bowl, add sugar to it, and mix everything well. Add water little by little to these mixed ingredients and stir until smooth.
  10. After the homogeneous mass is ready, cover the bowl tightly with cling film and put it in the microwave (for two minutes), if you can set the heating level in your microwave to a high level, then set it.
  11. After heating in the microwave, carefully remove the film and stir using a silicone spatula. It is better to use a silicone spatula so that the dough does not stick to it. Mix thoroughly so that the entire dough is homogeneous.
  12. After the dough is well kneaded, cover it again with cling film and microwave for another minute.
  13. We take the dough out of the microwave, remove the film and mix well again: the dough is ready. It turns out to be stretchy, like rubber.
  14. Transfer the finished dough to parchment paper sprinkled with starch. Sprinkle the top of the dough with starch, sparingly. Flatten the dough and roll it into a thin layer using a rolling pin.
  15. To prevent the dough from sticking to either the parchment paper or the rolling pin, sprinkle it with starch.
  16. Divide the rolled out dough into twelve parts using a knife: to prevent the dough from sticking to the knife, it can also be greased with starch.
  17. We take the ice cream balls out of the freezer, cover a plate with cling film, take the dough, brush the starch off it with a brush, put it on the film and place a scoop of ice cream on top. Carefully wrap the ball completely in the dough and seal everything: since the dough is sticky, it will stick together immediately. After this, wrap the ball in cling film and put it in the freezer.
  18. This way we wrap all the balls. If the dough sticks to your hands, you can grease your hands with starch.
  19. After the mochi has hardened in the freezer, it can be served.
