I fell in love with these wonderful pancakes right away... Yes, yes, we have mutual love at first sight and bite! 😀 One of my friends kept wondering - can pancakes on water really be delicious?! She has baked only with milk or kefir her entire adult life. But they can! Even the lean ones turn out great, and even more so with eggs! This recipe has become one of my favorites! Therefore, I suggest you pay attention to it too 😉

There is nothing extraordinary about it. The kneading technique is the most common, with only one secret - after all the ingredients are combined together, you need to let the dough stand for half an hour. Actually, this technique can be practiced with any other type of pancakes - it will only get better. It has only one drawback - you don’t always have time to wait. However, it is better to set aside at least 10-15 minutes for this - this way thin pancakes on water with eggs will turn out tastier and will be easier to remove from the frying pan.

I traditionally did not put sugar in the dough, but you can add it if you wish. I just don’t like sweet pancake batter (for the most part). Plus, sugar-free pancakes are more versatile - they can be served with anything and stuffed with anything - both sweet and savory options.

Among my friends there are many lovers of crab sticks, so I decided to make a selection of options for stuffed pancakes with them as a base.

Filling for pancakes with crab sticks and garlic

Ingredients for 20 pancakes: 600 g crab sticks, 2-3 bunches of dill, mayonnaise and garlic to taste.
Preparation: Wash the dill, dry and chop finely with a knife. Pass the garlic through a press. Combine mayonnaise, garlic and herbs. Mix well. Brush pancakes with this sauce. Sprinkle finely diced crab sticks on top. Roll up, cut each into 2 or 3 approximately equal parts.

Filling for pancakes with crab sticks and cheese

Ingredients for 20 pancakes: 350 g crab sticks, 250 g cheese, 100 ml mayonnaise.
Preparation: Cut the crab sticks into cubes 3 cm long, grate the cheese on a grater with large holes. Combine crab sticks and cheese, season with mayonnaise, mix. Place the filling on the pancake and roll it into an envelope.

Pancake filling with crab sticks, eggs and cheese

Ingredients for 20 pancakes: 200 g crab sticks, 150 g hard cheese, 5 eggs, 2 onions, 2 tbsp. vegetable oil.
Preparation: Boil the eggs and chop into cubes. Sauté the onion in sunflower oil. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater, cut the crab sticks into small cubes. Combine all ingredients together and mix thoroughly. Place the filling on each pancake and roll it either into a roll or into an envelope.

Well, now I’ll tell you in detail and show you how to cook pancakes in water with eggs. And then you can do whatever you want with them! By the way, they are great for shaping any pancake cake! 😉

Ingredients:

  • water - 1 liter
  • eggs - 4 pieces
  • salt - 1 tsp.
  • sunflower oil - 4 tbsp.
  • premium wheat flour - 300 g (~2.5 cups)*
  • soda - 0.75 tsp.
  • * 1 cup = 200 ml liquid = 125 g flour

Water pancakes with eggs - classic recipe with photos step by step:

I broke the eggs into a bowl convenient for kneading. The salt came out. If you still decide to make the pancakes sweet, add sugar to your taste at the same stage.
Beat for two minutes.

I poured in a liter of warm boiled water. The most optimal temperature is pleasantly warm. Because in cold flour it will be harder to separate, and hot ones will cook the eggs. Beat for a minute.

Pour in sunflower oil. This time I used unrefined (in general, I have a much greater love for fragrant than refined), but you can use refined.

Mixed flour with baking soda and sifted together. You may need a slightly different amount of flour, since the gluten content of each flour is different and depends on many factors, ranging from the region where the wheat grows to the time of year. In addition, water hardness also matters.

Beat thoroughly with an electric whisk from a blender set. In terms of pancakes, I like them to be whipped more, as it minimizes the number of lumps. But you can also use a regular mechanical whisk or a mixer - whichever is more convenient for you.

Cover the dough with a lid and leave it alone for 30 minutes. This is what the dough looks like after proofing:

Then everything is traditional - I warmed the frying pan well, first without everything, then with a small amount of refined oil. I poured out an incomplete ladle of dough. Fry on each side until golden brown over medium heat.

Place the pancakes in a stack on top of each other (if desired, you can coat them with butter). When they had completely cooled down, I gave them the shape that I had originally intended.

That's all - incredibly tasty thin water pancakes with eggs are ready for eating or further manipulation! Wishing you a wonderful Maslenitsa! ;)

There is not a single person who does not like fried pancakes. Plus, they are easy to prepare and don’t require many ingredients. The most common ones with eggs turn out thin and tender. They can be prepared as a separate dish, along with jam, preserves, etc. Or they can be stuffed with various fillings: mushroom, curd, meat or any other. So stuff them or serve them simply with honey for tea. And we will help with this with our recipes. Choose one of them, show your culinary preferences and imagination, and then serve the table, delight your family and friends. Let's get down to business, cooking with water.

Recipe No. 1: thin pancakes

Ingredients for it: boiled water - 600 ml, eggs - three pieces, flour - 190 grams, vegetable oil - one spoon and a little for frying, a pinch of salt.

Whisk the eggs with salt and water. One spoon at a time, gradually add flour, while continuing to beat. Add vegetable oil to the dough, beat thoroughly again. The oil in the composition will prevent the pancakes from sticking to the pan during the frying process. In the end, you should get a homogeneous, lump-free dough. Grease the frying pan with a brush. We heat it well and, pouring a thin layer of dough, fry the pancakes. It happens that by the time we cook everything with eggs, half of it is already gone; the household members quickly ate them with jam and washed down with tea. It’s okay, now we’ll tell you another recipe.

Recipe No. 2: the most correct

Previously, housewives often failed to cook quality pancakes using water. Sometimes they were a little rubbery. But through experimentation we found the right way. And now pancakes on water with eggs come out very tasty. So take a look at the recipe below. It is recommended to use a frying pan with a good non-stick coating.

We need: half a liter of water, three eggs, two tablespoons of granulated sugar, a pinch of salt, a teaspoon of baking powder, one and a half cups of flour, three tablespoons of vegetable oil.

Pour sugar, salt and eggs into a container and beat until fluffy. This takes about five minutes. Take a third of the water, add the sifted flour along with baking powder into a saucepan and beat the whole dough with a mixer. If you pour out all the water at once, it will be difficult to break up any lumps of flour in the batter. Pour it out now, do the same with the oil, stir. The dough turns out to be quite liquid, but that is why the pancakes will be so thin. Now we begin to fry in water, and for the first of them it is recommended to grease the frying pan with oil. When you've finished frying the last pancake, place them in the pan and cover with a lid. They will turn out even more tender and tasty.

Recipe No. 3: the simplest

Another recipe.

For six servings we will need: three eggs, two tablespoons of powdered sugar, two and a half glasses of warm water, two glasses of premium wheat flour, a tablespoon of vegetable oil and table salt.

So, let’s cook pancakes in water again. The photo and recipe will help you do everything right. Moreover, there is nothing complicated. This is one of the simplest and easiest ways. Add granulated sugar and a pinch of salt to warm water. Mix thoroughly until everything is completely dissolved. Beat the eggs with a mixer, add flour, pancake flour, or regular flour of the highest grade, beat everything again until the lumps dissolve. Add a spoonful of oil and mix well. The dough should not be thick, we need it to be somewhat liquid, if so, dilute it with water. Fry in a hot frying pan, which we grease with lard, until golden brown.

Recipe No. 4: with soda and vinegar

And again - on water, because they are no different from those prepared with kefir or milk.

Ingredients: two glasses of flour, an egg, plain water - two glasses, granulated sugar - two spoons, baking soda - half a teaspoon, vegetable oil - two spoons, and salt.

In a bowl, beat the egg and grind it with sugar and salt. Pour in a glass of water and mix thoroughly. Add soda slaked with vinegar. Add flour and mix well, you can do this with a mixer. The result is a thick dough, which we dilute with the remaining water, stirring constantly. Almost at the very end, add oil and mix again. Grease the frying pan with any fat, heat it up and bake the pancakes. In this recipe, it is advisable to grease it before each pancake. We serve it on the table, stuffed with filling or just like that, with jam, for example. Bon appetit!
